Service Requested: Residential Door Lock Replacement The handle of my front door was consistently getting stuck and entering was becoming a bit of a challenge. I called Urgent at 11 yesterday morning and the locksmith (Ryan) was at my house an hour later. After his arrival, I decided to switch out the deadbolt & add keyless entry. Ryan suggested I go purchase the system of my choice & he would return the same day. I drove to a big box store & after texting him several of my choices (while still in the store) he confirmed what would work best. Awesome service from Alex and he was extremely fast getting to me in Midtown. I misplaced my key for my mailbox and he saved the day. He was professional and did great work along with having 3 keys made for me. These guys are amazing! I lost my only key for an older vehicle, and the first locksmith I contacted was unable to connect the transponder to the ECU due to the age of the vehicle. This was an amazing experience given that no one plans to need a locksmith. I called and the actual locksmith picked up the phone. He said it would take 35 minutes; he was there early than planned. He was very knowledgeable and safe. He asked to see ID. He was prompt and fast. Most of all he was friendly. Locking yourself out of your home is annoying and frustrating, but his friendliness and demeanor kept the event from becoming a real headache. After a Friday nite out listening to jazz, we returned home at 2ish in the AM to find that we left our keys & door garage genie in house and we could not get in. We tried everything but, no luck so, we called ' Urgent Locksmith ' only to be told it may take a while cause he had 2 jobs before me. Called another locksmith but, no answer at all at 2am so, my son told us that we could come over to sleep at his place for the night. Talking about mode. ( URGHHHH oh well off we went to go spend a nite a my son's new condo he just purchased.) Next morning, I woke up to a text that Alex w/Urgent Locksmith had texted at 7:30am to ask if I still needed assist & he was available if we still needed his assistance. I ended up reaching back out after concluding that I wasn't going to be able to get in my home w/out hun. So he said he would be over in 35mins. (He might if pulled up in less then 30mins & boy oh boy...talking about me being excited, you would of thought I was a little kid & he was like a ice cream truck that just pulled up! ) At any rate....he got out truck w/face mask introduced himself & his brother Soufian (which I feel in love with this North African name I was told) and they went right to work. It took no time for them to tackle getting me into my home. I was nervous...but, they was very very very pleasant so, I just let them do what they do best! And wallah...about 20mins later they had my door opened. Alex was so professional that he schooled me by telling me that he could lessen my keys on my key ring by duplicating a key...that will fit 3 different locks! Being shocked, I had never heard of this before so, I was curious & thought I had to see this done cause this would allow me to get rid of a few keys on my key-ring ss he mentioned..."tiu have alot of keys". Lol I then gave him the keys from those particular locks & took him about 15-20more mins and wallah again...he brought the key in and walked me through each lock to assure they all fit there locks. I was so impressed that I have him saved in my phonebook in case I ever need his assistance again! He will be the 1st person I call. I also referred him to my son to rekey his locks. Note: If you are looking for timely, knowledgeable professionals that will not rip you off then Alex & his brother are your guys for the job! After talking to 5 lock smiths -- 2 of which came to my place & gave me a quote of $200-285 just to open the door with an extra charge for a new lock & for coming out -- Urgent Lock Smith's Andy came to the rescue! They have a $95 flat rate to get inside & (because my lock was un-pickable & had to be drilled into) they charged $55 for a new lock. Andy was awesome, professional, & so helpful! He reminded me to make sure to report this to my renters insurance so I could get my money back! He got inside my apartment in less than 5 min & had the lock on in 10 min. -- I couldn't believe the other lock smiths were trying to charge $300+ for a few minutes of work.
