I contacted her to be our chef for the week while we were in Bar Harbor celebrating my Mom's 80th birthday. Not only was the food AMAZING, but so was Paulette and her staff. They hosted a total of 7 full meals for us, breakfast and dinner - and it was magical! One of the meals was a picnic dinner for our boat trip where she met us at the doc with wonderful delectables. From clam chowder to lobster rolls to surf 'n turf dinner - our bellies were so happy. We left with new family! The woman running the shop told me a little bit about the artist (Boothbay Harbor, I think he's from) and how she bought a cobalt glass pair of earrings from his collection the previous year, different design). They're gorgeous when the light hits them. Highly recommend stopping in to look at the array of human creativity on display!

Due to the nature of how long this particular location has been opened some of the areas can feel very crowded depending on how many people are nearby but understandable with how long they've been open. Like other Sherman locations they have more than just books including puzzles, stuffed animals, Knick-knacks/trinkets, and more. My wife is an avid reader and loves checking out every and any bookstore. I appreciate locating them for her so she can do so! While not as much of an avid reader I do appreciate what appears to be a resurgence of physical books and indie book stores. The staff were extremely friendly and prices were reasonable/on par with other locations. This Sherman's has stood the test of time and has provided locals and tourists a spot for the newest and classic favorites for many generations. Think local Maine authors, staff picks, cute gifts, puzzles, and little trinkets you didn't plan on buying but absolutely will.
