History
Established in 2002.
We are a Performing Arts School that offers Dance, Music, and Theatre classes for all ages and abilities.
Parents need quality programming that they can feel good about investing in that matches their values. We work hard to provide a family first atmosphere, with a focus on age appropriate development and happy, healthy training that teaches life skills through the arts.
We do this while setting the gold standard business practices and technology in our industry.
Families are able to choose their level of participation from a variety of programming options. The magic in this lies in tailor-made schedules and experiences that foster our students today, while creating leaders for tomorrow. We know that less than 5% of our students will go on to become Professional Performers, but 100% of our students will use the life skills they gain throughout their education with Ambition Performing Arts.
Simply put: We are raising tomorrow's leaders through the arts, and this is important work!
Meet the Business Owner: Tara P.
Tara Pickford is the CEO of APA. She began dancing at the age of 4 and hasn’t sat still since! These days Tara loves being in the classroom coaching her staff and students on how to discover their passion for the arts.
Tara is a fully certified teacher in Acrobatic Arts, ADAPT, and Al Gilbert, and has also earned her qualifications in Alixa Flexibility and Perfect Form Physio. She is YPAD certified and a member of the Wild Rose Dance Arts Association. She earned her Bachelor or Kinesiology with a major in Mind Sciences at the University of Calgary.
A dance mom herself, Tara has a deep understanding of what families look for in a studio. She knows what it takes for dancers, teachers, and parents to have an exciting and fulfilling experience from the classroom to the stage!
She wants everyone who walks in the door to feel respected, inspired, and encouraged—like they have stepped in to their second home.
