He was so personable and we had a great conversation during my entire appointment. He also did a fantastic job! I got an SNS manicure and he took his time, made my cuticles look amazing, and really just made the experience great! I live out of town, but every time I come back I will be requesting him! Absolutely the worst nail experience I've ever had! Was in from out of tow for the holidays, broke 2 nails at the airport. Found ambiance and decides to pip in for a dip set with 2 repairs (I told the chick at reception I needed 2 tips) for some reason this was confusing, they got the manager involved to ask how they sign me in for that. Once seated the person doing my nails didn't understand that and started cutting all my natural nails off. Not happy but fine, I asked "can you make the all look like this nail (length and shape- I'd filed a broken one into a square). She said yes, and proceeded to cut them into a rounded shape. My nails were previously almond. I should have left because there was obviously a communication problem. I didn't... she proceeded to do dip and shape every nail differently. Shape was wrong, uneven length hand to hand, and the dip itself was bubbly (un-level). The tech also didn't understand how the chemicals work and brushed too much hardener on and didn't let it cure at all before putting too coat on so she ruined her brushed, then proceeded to ask coworker for new brushes as I and a tech told her they need to dry before the next step. In total, 3 additional techs including a manager had to help "fix" my nails and I had to try and reshape them myself with a file. Upon check out, my bill was $64 for plain dip. I asked for a manager, he "gave me a $10 discount" to make it right. I had been there 1.5 hours and still walked out with the worst set I've ever had. The photos are after 3 techs and myself filed and re-filed. I was asked to sit AGAIN to re-do them but by then I was already late picking someone up. This place charged different amounts for different skill levels, but there's no way this tech was at a level to charge $64 for basic dip, not even a gel top coat. Not even the $50+ with tax. Total scam, I'd never stop foot in here again. Now, a week later, most of the topcoat has chipped off because it was ruined by them filing after the fact and there's gaps under my nails because they weren't bonded properly. After about a year of regular visits for mani / pedis , I'm done. I've been to 3 locations, and their prices are high enough, let alone individual techs making up their own. The last 3 pedis were all the same; Basic Pedicure. I was charged 3 different prices. Lowest being when I went in , sweats on, no make up, highest being when I was all dressed up, nice clothes, jewelry, etc. so they definitely charge more when they "think" you can afford it! That type of judgement / labeling is horrible! If you insist on going here, go in looking like a "Bum", your wallet will thank you. read more

She was thorough without causing me any pain to my feet, which was definitely a plus. The whole procedure was relaxing and overall, I would say it was perfect for some self care. On 8/30/24, I came in for a gel French mani but had to have dip manicure removed first. This consisted of an open bowl with boiling acetone with a paper towel at the bottom of the bowl being put in front of me with instructions soak my fingers and then rub the polish off on my own with the paper towel. No covering was placed over the bowl and the fumes were unpleasant to say the least. Onto the "manicure"- the person that did my service clearly did not want to be there and it showed. One coat of polish was done but it was streaky and completely see through. I was told to choose a new color and the ring of samples was tossed in front of me I was told to "pick whatever you want". I chose a color but again only one coat was going to be done until I pointed out that it was streaky and see through. A second coat was applied but he wasn't happy about doing it. Next came the white tip. When he started putting blobs of white paint on, given the previous issues with having to request additional coats of polish to actually SEE a color I mentioned that the white lines were quite thick. He then said to another female nail tech "do you want to take over?" SHE apologized to me for HIS behavior. I declined the lotion/hot towel bit at the end bc I didn't want to deal with him anymore. I left unhappy and am even more disappointed now bc the white tips of the French gel manicure are chipping off after 4 days. I tipped quite well on this service ($15) but now regret leaving anything. I've been going here for about a year and have had great experiences with a master technician. She was so good I constantly requested her when making appointments. Since her leaving I wanted to continue going to the salon which I now have had the worst experience. My 5:15pm appointment started at 5:50pm. My technician didn't care for my natural nail, after requesting her to file the nails she only filed 4. The acrylic is too thick and shaping is uneven. On top of that while shaping the "nail", my skin was filed so low that I began bleeding. I ended the appointment and was still asked to pay. I'd prefer to give a 3.5 because the actual service itself was very nice but the shape of my nails after 5 days has me feeling blue. Found this salon thanks to Yelp because I happened to be on this side of town. I've heard good things about my local Ambiance so I was excited to try it out! I called ahead to confirm walkins were available and I ultimately only ended up waiting about 20mins to be seen. I would recommend scheduling an appointment. I went with a Basic Manicure for $18 post taxes. After I signed in, I really didn't get much direction so I was sort of embarrassed when the lady hollered at me to take a seat and wait. By "sort of" embarrassed I mean, really embarrassed. The actual service was great minus getting a little chip of my skin taken out. My tech was very very sorry, it was nice to see her sympathy because usually techs ignore it and keep going. The massage felt great and she made sure the hot towel wrap wasn't too hot. I was pleased with the shape and color of my polish. All went really well! 5 days later, my nails haven't held up too well. I guess this is why they want you to spend the additional money on the better polish (I got regular polish). The outer edges on every single one of my nails have already chipped away. I really want(ed) to make Ambiance my go-to for basic manicures but I think I'm still on the hunt for a place to make me a regular. read more

I was in the area and decided to try Ambiance for the first time. Needless to say I am far from impressed, despite being the "best voted salon" in Cincinnati. I was told I could get a 3D design just to be sat down and asked "can you choose something else?" If I knew I couldn't get the design I wanted I would've went somewhere else, but these technicians were strategic in waiting until I was already in the chair...I then asked for a simple pink color with gold hearts but, yet again, halfway through was told "we don't have a gold color that will show up" (would've been nice to know this at the start so I could've chosen a solid color and stayed away from designs altogether). I ended up with black, lopsided hearts that look absolutely terrible. Oh and I was charged $111 dollars for a DIP manicure. At other salons, I've been told dip is a cheaper alternative for acrylic but obviously that wasn't the case here. Needless to say these mediocre nails were EXTREMELY overpriced...I have NEVER paid this much even at a 5-star salon in my hometown. Don't waste your money on Ambiance, unless you want to be embarrassed by your nails for 3-4 weeks!!! read more

I have a certain nail tech I go to because she does an excellent and awesome job. Sokha makes me feel very welcomed and is very helpful. A lot of times I tell her you pick the color because their is so many SNS colors to choose from. She is very thorough with her work and makes sure the nails are done correct. Always cleans them up. Edited after they redid my pedicure. Which not many places will do if they did t do a good job. So they impressed me a lot. I would give the technician I had today five stars, she was awesome! Very personal and really put me at ease about asking to have my pedicure redone so they could remove my dead skin and cuticle trimmed. I was anxious because no one likes a complainer. lol. But she was amazing and I would go back to her 150%, but as a whole for the entire the fact I had to ask for my pedicure to be redone and it wasn't a real pedicure in the first place, I can only give them 4 stars for the entire place. Honestly. I'm not hard to please. I want a pedicure that gets my dead skin off and my feet feel soft, my dead skin on my toes is all removed and it's a huge plus if they do a good massage when they put on lotion and polish that's on my entire nail and not a sloppy mess. This basic pedicure, my feet soaked for 30 seconds tops. Didn't remove any dead skin on my heels at all period. And my technician just seemed like they didn't want to waste their time working. I don't normally like chatting as much, so it says something great about his customer service skills! And of course he does a great job on my nails. I normally get SNS manicure + pedicure with gel. Unfortunately, I did not have a very good visit. I came in for a basic pedicure and gel manicure. The manicure was beautiful however, the pedicure was not. They tried to get me to upgrade and or use gel, but I was not interested. At the end of my one and a half hours there, I put my shoes on and left when I got home. Most of my toes were smudged off. Keep in mind. My toes were done very early on. They never once put them under the fan. I had to drive a half an hour back to get them touched up at this point. I had my three year-old daughter with me. We sat there for a half an hour once again not underneath the fan. I had to ask multiple employees if they thought it was dry finally, they thought it was dry. I came home only to have them smudged again Very unhappy, especially since I spent over $100 here that was not my intention, but my technician never came back with my change so she took it upon herself to keep $20 as a tip. I will not be returning to this location and I very rarely treat myself three times a year to get my nails done and it's so unfortunate that this was one of those experiences. read more

I've been here twice recently, once to get a pedicure and once to get a gel manicure. It's a very large location (compared to the one across the street by TJ Maxx) so they were able to fit me in same day! I really enjoyed the pedicure that I received. The manicure was good, but my tech wasn't as careful and one of my cuticles started bleeding. It was very slight (and it had been quite some time since my last manicure, so that probably didn't help). Overall the finished product was good though. I would be interested in going back and trying another manicure and comparing to see if I get a slightly better experience. read more

Basic manicure there is a gouge on one nail but I can't blame them for sure on that but the man that did my nails was very rude . He acted put out and like I was asking for the world to see the polish on a sample first. Told me to sit down under the dryer and walked away to mess with his phone. I flagged someone down to ask how long I sit there. They said 10 minutes after 20 I figured he was done with me. I told the girl at the desk to give him my tip and left. I came to this salon with a very specific request. I requested v cut French tips. This salon COSTS an arm & a leg for their prices so you would think they would have one tech that knows how to do such a simple set of nails. I had not one but two different techs deny me stating they don't know how to do it and can't do it. Not to mention on their website they have it listed as having "master techs" which I requested. They brought a "master tech" over to me and he stated he couldn't do it. Therefore, I took my business elsewhere to a SMALL business and they were able to do exactly what I needed them to do within the moment I asked them to do it. I came in need of a pedicure and had a few issues. I called earlier in the morning and spoke with KC to make a reservation for two pedicures. When we arrived, KC was at the counter and there was no reservation saved...? They acted like I was crazy, but I was talking to the girl who took down the information. We were able to get in, but that was really annoying. The pedicure itself wasn't great. What she did hurt my feet, I've never had that before. She said she was done but the polish didn't reach all the way to my cuticle. I had to show her twice until she finally fixed it. When we finally left, in the sunlight, there was polish on my toes and places missed on my nails. Considering I had to fight her to fix the ones before, I didn't go back inside. I'm still in search of a good place for pedicures if anyone has any suggestions! read more

I had an appointment for a manicure last week. The woman on the phone was very nice as we set up the day and time. I was greeted when I came in for my manicure. I did have to wait a little past my appointment time as they may have been short staffed. It seems like everyone is short of good employees so the wait was not a huge deal. The manicurist was friendly and did not rush. The whole process was comfortable and my nails looked awesome. After 2 weeks the gel polish only had one little chip and was still adhering toward the nailbeds. AWFUL SERVICE. I would give it zero stars if I could. I went for a basic manicure on Saturday because I had a big event to go to on Sunday. The lady cut my cuticles so harshly that I was bleeding for the rest of the night. It has now been a few days later, and my nails are still in so much pain. On top of that, my polish looks horrific. They also charged me an up charge of $15 to just get my nail polish removed without informing me before. I called this morning and complained about that and they said they would do a shellac polish to compensate. However, as soon as I walked in, they made me wait 20 minutes only for them to say that I would be charged an additional $20 for shellac. That is when I lost it. I told them about the horrible service I had and how I was charged more without knowing the cost up front and the man said that I should "just know" the costs. Absolutely ridiculous. Companies are supposed to INFORM people of the cost BEFORE they get the service done. NOT after. Safe to say that I will never be going to Ambiance Nail Salon again. read more

Updated review:::manager contacted me on here to apologize and asked me to come back in on 10/19. She was accommodating and did my nails exactly how I originally wanted them. She didn't charge me and offered me 20% on my next service. Overall it was a great experience with her. 10/18:::Awful. I will never go back. Told them I wanted a specific design for my gender reveal party. Gentleman doing my nails said he didn't do designs and that he would find someone. We started the process and he said ok someone else will do the design. He then kept pushing for me to do gel so I said fine but I still want the design. Took an hour just to do the base color. When we got done I said ok who's doing the design? He said oh can't do design because it's gel and we are done. I got upset and said no I want the design I requested. Now I've gotten my nails done numerous times elsewhere and have had designs done on gel. So I was upset that he just didn't want to do it. He comes back with one other guy who says sure I can do it. He does the pink bow fine and I approved. He attempted to do a necktie twice and it wasn't good. I then asked ok what about a bow tie? He looked confused, three other people came over as he attempted. It was awful. At this point it's close to an hour and a half. Another girl sits down and attempts to do the bow tie, nothing difficult compared to what I have seen done, and finishes. I'm already tired and upset so I just said ya it's good. They finish up and I'm charged $45 for something I could've done myself. It's also nothing I requested as I also wanted white polka dots on each nail. Oh they don't do tips on your credit card either. Needless to say I didn't tip, hate me if you want, but the services rendered did not deserve a tip. I really like this salon. My favorite aspect is they pay attention to sterility. They used plastic bags to line pedicure basins and their tools are in sterile bags. The price point is fair at $33 for the basic pedicure. The technicians are nice and there skill level is varied. The chairs are comfortable. I like the sugar scrub addition to the pedicure for $7 though sometimes its free during specials. My technician today could have done better with nail shaping by paying more attention to that part of the experience but overall I like this salon and plan to return. I have been twice and had good experiences both visits for manicure/pedicure combination. Note they only take cash tips and also they do offer a five percent discount for cash payment. They take appointments if you call at least an hour ahead but they also take walk ins. It can get busy though so best to make an appointment. This was my first time using this location. I hae an appt scheduled for 6pm and wasnt seen until 6:25. I almost walked out, but the manager called me back and told me my spot was ready. The nail tech was really nice and personable and even made sure she got me in and out quickly yet still doing a good job. Once I was in the chair, I received great service. Just frustrated about the appt. I schedule appts at Ambiance, knowing they are always busy and they do take walk-ins, so scheduling helps me, but they must just have been extra busy at that time. This is not a deal breaker. I will still use Ambiance. This location is not close to where I live, I just happened to be in the area, but I do go to the one near me.
