I let my hair grow to shoulder length so she would have plenty of hair to work with. I wanted it short and tapered in the back, asymmetrical back to front, long in the front. A good angle. I wanted soft curls, so had it permed. I specifically told her not to cut my bangs, which were below my nose before the cut. I wanted them to grow out. She cut them. She gave me a straight bob, no angle and it's short! No amount of using a curling tool to soften works because it's too short and not styled correctly not layered correctly. She obviously rushed the cut to get to her next appointment. Won't return. MB

I'm going to begin this review by saying, I don't get my haircut often. Sometimes it's hard for me…read moreto justify how expensive a woman's haircut can be, so I never regularly get it cut at a salon, usually just have a pal trim it up and call it a day (I know I'm lucky to have hair that is easy). That being said, I haven't gotten my hair cut in 2 years. I finally decided to get it cut and to go somewhere. I asked around and received many recommendations but after looking at each website to compare prices, Lumine Salon had a price I was all about $25 for a student to cut my hair. Since I'm ok with friends cutting my hair with kitchen scissors, I figured a student would be much better than that! I'm SO GLAD I chose to come here. Yes, a student cut my hair, but the owner of the salon was there to ensure I got a great haircut. She made sure the stylist was using the right kind of products for my hair, checking to make sure everything was even, gave advice on what would fit my face well. The stylist and the owner were fun and professional and just took really great care of me. I could tell they really love and take pride in the work they do, and they want to do it really well. I'm sold on this place and will be regularly coming back. The service and final product have turned me from "I hate how much I have to pay, it's not worth it, I don't Care what my hair looks like" to "I can't wait to spend my money here and do it again". ALSO, adding this: they were so cautious and hygienic. I was asked to sanitize or wash my hands upon arrival, everyone wore masks, there was plexiglass in between every station, everything was cleaned after use. 10/10 on Covid cautiousness.

Another one of those "how have I NOT reviewed this place yet" situations…read more I have been going to Hairpins for quite a while now, as my stylist moved here from Skyline. At first it was hard to let go of all of the bells and whistles that Skyline dazzles you with, but once I got through the withdraw, I realized that I was still getting a stellar haircut, which really is the point, right? I see Merideth, who has been awesome about keeping me looking clean and presentable, yet also fun. She does a great men's cut. While obviously I have no firsthand experience with the lady-services, the clients I all see leaving look great. Take that for what you will. Scheduling appointments has always been incredibly flexible, and everybody that works there is incredibly friendly. They do shows on First Fridays and are always there to give you a nice PBR or glass of wine. Also, they're a Bumble & Bumble salon, if that type of thing is important to you.

My first impression of the salon and everyone in there was "yes I am home and in my happy place". This is a major must when you plan on being there for up to 5 hours per visit. I never expect to bring in a picture and say make me look like this and end up unhappy because they don't look exactly like it. I love trusting my stylist to bring my "inspiration" into a one of a kind piece of art and Ashe did not disappoint!
