staff just keeps getting worse and worse. I've been a customer of this establishment for years now,…read moreand it seems that they're at the point where no one knows how to be a professional, except for a select few. The quality of the product is always excellent, I will say. However the unprofessionalism is something that is not only a deterrent for customers, but also why I keep seeing new faces, again, except for a select few. I wouldn't not recommend NEA to a person, but I will no longer be recommending them either as the "best in the city". My two cents would be, tighten up.

Walking into Northeast Alternatives for the first time felt a bit like stepping into the unknown, I…read morehad zero frame of reference and wasn't sure what kind of vibe I'd get. Honestly, I went because a handful of my patients kept mentioning it, and a friend finally nudged me over the line. Glad I listened. First off, it's easy to get to and there's plenty of parking, which already puts it ahead of half the places I deal with in a given week. Inside, the process is straightforward, show your ID, pass through another set of doors, and you're in. No confusion, no awkwardness. What stood out right away was the staff. Everyone I've interacted with has been genuinely friendly and approachable. They don't talk at you, they talk with you. And they clearly understand that people are coming in for all kinds of reasons--medical, recreational, curious first-timers like me, and they meet you wherever you are without making it weird. I keep it simple, I'm a gummies guy. That's been my lane. But on my last visit, the guy at the counter suggested a tincture. Took his advice, tried it, and he was spot on. That kind of guidance goes a long way when you're still figuring things out. The space itself is clean, well laid out, and just... calm. No chaos, no pressure. They take their time if you have questions, and you never feel rushed out the door. Prices are solid, experience is easy, and the whole place has a relaxed, welcoming feel that makes you forget you were ever unsure about going in the first place. Safe to say, they've got a repeat customer.

HINT: Always a busy parking lot here and like I said the line can be long but USUALLY you can get in and out pretty quick.

Majority of the time, I buy my books before class on abebooks.com, but when it comes to the classes where it's a "do I really need to waste $100+ on a book i won't crack open once?" situation, I wait 'til the first class. So was the case with my English book, which is a massive ~2.5" book. It's normally an $80 book new, and I bought it here brand new for $53 (right now on Amazon used copies are going $59 before shipping!), plus they have the option to rent (not with this particular book), which basically you pay full price and then get half back when you return it at the end of the semester, which works out in your favor more often than not (especially when it's a book with a new edition soon to be printed, those clever publishers). Also thought it was really nice of them to pass out bottles of water and bags of chips since there was a pretty long line the other day. I suggest pre-ordering your book before since it will save you a half hour wait in line (plus I think you get a discount). Great stuff!
