Luba offers Ashiatsu massages where she can deliver greater pressure to the muscle groups, and she does so for the full appointment time and at fair prices. One thing I really like about Luba's technique and professionalism is that if she comes across a real sore spot will she do some extra focus time on that area so you can have some therapeutic gain. The good: staff -- from the front desk to the service providers -- has always been really friendly. I find the tables in the service rooms to be really comfortable, and I like how clear they are about emergency buttons being available. While I don't regularly do facials, I splurge every now and then and am super happy with the treatments I've gotten from Brea. My massage therapists have varied but have generally been good; I've only had one that I'd say was below average, and a couple have been excellent. The frustrating: - For massages, I keep getting switched to different massage therapists from what I booked and don't find out until I get there. I used to have consistency in my massage therapist, or at the very least I'd get a heads up that I was being switched. It's gotten to the point where I don't see the point in booking with a specific therapist, because I have no idea who I'll actually get. -The timing has varied pretty wildly. As an example, I recently showed up 2-3 minutes late for a massage and am totally understanding that an appointment will be shortened a few minutes to reflect that! However, the massage didn't start until 15 minutes after the scheduled time because the massage therapist was running behind, and it also ended a few minutes early -- my active massage time was less than 35 minutes. In other recent instances, when I've shown up before my start time, I've still had appointments start a few minutes late and end a few minutes early (even accounting for consultation and undress/dress time). If they're running late and want to cut my time by 5-10 minutes, I wish they'd just ask me -- maybe throw in some aromatherapy or something, and I have no problem helping them get back on schedule. As is, it just feels a bit sneaky. - There is no communication that I can find that informs when the monthly membership price is going up. I understand that prices rise, but I wish there was clear communication about it. I'll keep coming back for now because of the convenient location, ease of booking, and friendly staff. But I hope things get better in terms of service consistency.
