Called AC at around 1130 am to make an appointment for wash, color and style. I was offered an appointment at 1:30 pm and asked if I wanted my hair flat ironed, round brushed or curled. I asked for curled. I arrived at AC at 1:25 pm and waited a few minutes until Tammy was ready. She offered her insight for my hair as I do have some thinning and tangling at the ends. She did a clarifying shampoo and only conditioned the ends as not to weigh my hair down. She was professional and pleasant and there's nothing like having your hair blow dryer and manipulated to relax you. She ended up round brushing it out instead of curling it, so I'm not sure if there is a breakdown in communication from the scheduler to the stylist. Overall, I'm super happy with the cut, I would've just liked it curled and I'm not one to make a fuss about something that's already set in motion. The total was $47 and for why I asked and what was done, it's a deal. They do offer coloring and perms, but I wouldn't go to AC for a perm or coloring, but for a simple cut, absolutely. read more

After 5 years of my entire family going here ww had an issue where my 22yo autistic child asked for s very short pixie and they just shaved the entire head with a 2. Period. They also shaved a chunk of off my child eyebrow! When we asked for a refund they told us if they gave us the refund we would never be welcome back. The worst haircut I have ever had. Before I had my first haircut there I called to make sure they were familiar with my particular cut which is a stacked bob. I was assured that the stylist they recommended was experienced with this type of haircut. I even took pictures in to make sure she knew what I was expecting. All I asked of this Stylist was to trim one part shorter and she immediately got an attitude and starting chopping and hacking away at my hair with a vengeance. Well guess what? The stylist butchered my hair and it was not anywhere close to what it was before she started and ended so short and shaved in the back that I am still trying to grow out my hair and it has been over 3 months. The cut she gave me was no where near a stacked bob. She had no clue what she was doing. You should not say you know how to cut the style of you do not. I went to another salon to try and have it fixed and was told the person who cut my hair did not know what she was doing obviously and my hair would need time to grow out in the back in order to get it back to my original haircut. I am extremely upset that she cut my hair so short that it it taking months to grow out. All the hair stylist here are sweet, kind, and wonderful. V is our families favorite but everyone else is just as nice. The pirce is rather reasonable $17 for my 11 year old.nephew and 23 for my basic wash and cut. They always sweep up after each cut and were very. Us for the holidays. We got lucky and they took us a few.minutes early. There are many reasons I would like to give five stars for this place (convenience, prices, and usually service), but going for my last haircut really was disappointing. I showed a picture of the style that I wanted and walked out with something not even close and not even manageable :( and several inches shorter than what I had asked for. Not going to name names but just want to request that if someone brings in a photo and you change that style, to check with your client first rather than leave them with a haircut they're super unhappy with. Even after years of cutting my own hair I decided to give Shannon a try and boy am I glad that I did! Now I can't speak for the other stylists on the property but Shannon is very skilled, she listens to her customers, and makes you feel very comfortable while you're getting your hair done! I am extremely picky about my hair and she surpassed any expectations that I had as far as getting a good haircut. The place is very neat and well organized with a lot of customers who seem to be extremely satisfied with the service. I gave this place a shot to color my hair to my natural color. I showed pictures of what I would like done with my hair, which is to go dark brown into a blonde ombré. I had a pretty golden blonde look going but the stylist I had messed it up big time. She dyed my hair super black and used my blonde to give me highlights! Oh boy, I wanted to scream so loud but I didn't want to embarrass anyone. The process also seemed very rushed and the stylist over processed my hair to the point of breakage. She also didn't really clean my skin well after dying it, and I was left with smudges of dye on the back of my neck, side of my neck, and even partially on my eye! At least the stylist could be a bit more respectful and wiped the dye off me, but didn't. My skin was left red and irritated because of that. And to top it off, my stylist literally told me at the end that my blonde hair was "ugly" and to never bleach it again like that?? Excuse me, I really loved my blonde hair too. I went to my original stylist and they have to be careful about fixing my hair now because it is so fragile due to the placement of the product. I knew from that moment that is where I f***ed up. And I quote "you can just pin it" well obviously since we just went right for it and snipped away. I had to laugh in the chair to keep from crying. It was my first time getting a haircut at this salon and the worst I have ever got. I showed a picture of what I wanted which is called a medium pixie since I have short hair and asked the hairdresser to only taper it a little bit in the back instead of which she shaved it about two inches to look like a buzz. It was not even either, one side was shaved more than the other side in the back. I was horrified when I came home and took a good look at it in the mirror. She was also in a big rush and I don't know what made her do that to me. Apparently she has 30 years experience as a hairdresser. What a fake! Never will I go there again. read more

I moved here from California in 2018, leaving behind 2 very important people, my wonderful doctor and my hairdresser. It took me several years and trials but I found a great doctor..Hairdresser..that's a different story. I have been getting body perms for 50 years, I have had gtreat, fair, poor and in April I received worst body perm ever, beyond bad, nope, really I am worried that at 71 my hair will not recover..The irony is I stopped going to Parlor Aveda because of a pretty bad perm ( I didn't know what a bad perm was), until Katie..I explained in detail that I had waited for 18 months for another body per. because I had some breakage in the back of my head, not alot but I was resting my hair, and frankly, a tad nervous about getting another one but...Katie's exact words to me: I don't give bad perms ever...wrong..The entire appointment was weird. Like I said, years of perms, I know exactly what to expect. After putting all the rollers in place, she left and came back with solution..She said it only stays on for minutes..ummm, that's new, then before she started she showed me the directions and pointed out 5 minutes..odd, okay, maybe it's a new perm..then she applied the solution, it heated up quickly, not like the usual slow way, nope, it got hot, not unbearable, no, but my concern was this must be pretty strong..ummm After 5 minutes she rinsed and finished perm. As she's taking out curlers, how is it i asked? Great Katie said. I play by the rules, no washing hair for at least 5 days, my rule. I don't brush, I know how to care for my perms. I asked Katie, I have a lot of gray, when can I color and it's safe right? Of course, just do roots..Home I went, I noticed some balls of tangled hair in my sink, not too much, but my hair was just a tangled mess, even with leave in conditioner. I also noticed how different the curl was, kinky, very curly even though I made sure the proper rollers were used. No matter how i tried to style it, it just went back to kinky tight curls. I was not happy. I decided to wait it out and after 5 weeks I colored my hair..I am very careful and mindful of my ends. Another week and more hair loss, all in the back. Some places so short, we'll, the entire back of my head is short, jagged and flate, all different lengths. I didn't call or complain as it's been several months since perm and i am certain Katie would blame the hair color. I did some research , bad perms can break for several months after initial application. I could demand a refund or some hair care products to offset the money I spent. What i will never understand is why she chose that perm for me after I made very clear how fragile my hair is..I won't go back ever again, I am beyond disappointed. read more

I called this morning to confirm whether or not HEATHER was going to do my hair. The person who answered the phone confirmed the appointment. I called because I DID call and cancel last week because my uncle died, and I canceled one time prior (like a year ago) because I was literally across the street at Centennial Hills Hospital in the ER due to a lupus flare. Both times I called prior to appointment days. I believe I spoke to a man named Robert; he was very nice but he did say that Heather can be difficult to work with at times, but I figured since she knew me or had done my hair SEVERAL times before and we conversed during the many hours I spent on her chair (you'd think she would understand that lupus flares can be deadly), no hair appointment comes before my health! I've always been very generous and given her $50 tips! No matter what I spent there. Unfortunately, I was wrong about her; she lacks compassion and empathy! She came out to tell me as I sat here that, per HER policy, she would not do my hair today due to cancellations and that she was "sorry" that I wasted my time and a drive there. She wasn't sorry, she was being petty. Lol, I have to laugh because she came out all "important" as if she were above everyone else in the hair salon. "I'm so important, so it's your loss, and I don't care what your reasons were for your two cancellations." WOW!! I was polite the whole time. I didn't entertain her ugly demeanor towards me or what she said. I actually said I understood, and I decided to sit here and write a review. I know the owners; both are very nice! I still suggest this place because not everyone behaves like her. But if you want someone who actually values you as a client, do not use Heather. She doesn't have children, so there seems to be a lack of understanding, which is odd considering she claimed to have raised her nephew. Her brother's son who died. That's how much time I spent on her chair that she shared that with me. I'm a mother, and moms get it; life happens. Nobody cancels appointments without valid reasons. Oh well, I was told by the owner that anyone else could and would do my hair. How awkward for her, though, to have acted the way she did and still have me be kind. The following incident occurred on 10/19/19..signed in at noon and walked out with a half finished cut 45 minutes later. My son was in the chair and the barber (did not catch his name...Filipino or Hispanic male with Blonde Hair)...began cutting his hair. After a few minutes it was obvious that he no idea what he was doing. We asked for a simple zero to 1/2 fade, trim the top, with a comb over and hard part. Same cut he's been getting for about 2 years. After he figured he couldn't do it he brought in another girl to help. (My son heard him tell the other barber he didn't know how to do it..the problem was this was after he's already started) After about 20 minutes of that, I asked the young lady at the front desk what was going on. She was very helpful and she got a third stylist to help. Another 15 minutes goes by and she's working on his hair and my son motions me over. The remedy was to keep cutting... I went over to the male sitting at the counter who identified himself as Rob the manager and owner. He wasn't interested in hearing any of the complaint...just said "you already said you were leaving". I've given enough business to this place to at least have my complaint heard....but I guess Rob would disagree. This is not the case of some overbearing father...you and your business have lost the ability to provide quality service, but it's no wonder customer service sucks when the person who identifies himself as the manager and owner behaves like he doesn't care.
