I asked for length at the bottom and shorter layers on the top. Specifically the crown to get more volume. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Joanne made sure I was comfortable with the amount of length she took from the back, which was appreciated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She actually checked in with the shortness of the shortest layer too, but after she blended the rest of my hair - it doesn't look quite blended now that I'm home examining it. I have a wavy/curly texture so maybe it wouldn't be as noticeable after I wash my hair. Overall I'm not crying over something that'll grow back, but I'll probably figure out how to cut my own hair again. If my hair looks fine after I wash it, I'll update the rating. read more

I'm 7 weeks postpartum and went to get my hair trimmed and textured a little bit. The girl that cut my hair absolutely botched it. Even after having another stylist come over to help guide her on how to fixed it, she still managed to mess it up even worse. It's taken me years to grow out my hair to wear I was happy with it and all I wanted was to take off damaged ends. She absolutely wrecked my hair. When I got in my car to leave, I was feeling the back of my hair I noticed it was crazy uneven. I wound up going to a different location to have someone else try to salvage what they could and was in tears when she showed be how bad it was in the back. The layers were totally uneven and ultimately, I went from having beautiful blonde hair passed my shoulders to an almost chin length bob (one section in the back is still uneven because they would have to take it almost up to my ears to fix it). If I could give zero stars I would. You hear horror stories of this god forsaken place all the time, which is why I didn't want to come here and why I've been cutting my own hair for years. But my brother offered to take me with him and get our haircuts. Mind you, I have been cutting my own hair, giving my own fades to myself and other people for about 8 years now. The only reason why I came here was because prior I was sick for a month, not just the flu or Covid but something worse. Liver and spleen were inflamed, white cell counts high, high fevers every day, and several more things were going on with me for a month straight, so no I did not have the energy to cut my own hair. And then I was in the hospital for 2 weeks. She was making lowkey insulting remarks as to how long it's been since I got a haircut, she sounded insanely ignorant. The useless woman who cut my hair was dark skinned, had glasses on, dark curly hair in a ponytail. It was 2:45ish and I overheard her shift was over at 3. So on top of her having absolutely no clue how to do a fade, she was clearly rushing. When I do my fade it takes a lot longer than barely 10 minutes. I showed her the picture of what I wanted below. Which is exactly how I cut my hair when I do it. I clearly said I wanted a LOW FADE. And the imbecile says "oh a number 1" and I was like yeah, thinking that's what she wanted to start with and I didn't know what her method was. But I wanted to say no, no that's completely wrong, start with at least a 1/16 with the guard all the way down, then an 1/8 and literally blend and work your way up the guards. But I wasn't about to sit there and TEACH HER HOW TO CUT HAIR. That is embarrassing, she should be embarrassed. I can tell for a FACT that I have been cutting hair longer than her. She shouldn't even be attempting to do a fade. All she did was a number 1 up to the top, all that time of growing out my hair completely WASTED because of this clueless WENCH. I don't get how someone can be so incompetent. And then when the girl came in to finish the night she was yapping away to her. I also mentioned to her how the slice on my neck was from a biopsy that is being tested for cancer, because she asked what it was. There was not an ounce of sympathy or anything. Grown woman acting like a kid cutting hair for the first time. This woman should not be cutting hair. Point blank. If you want. I can go back and give her a lesson, because my god does she need it. I didn't even get a chance to go here do to the fact that the women who ever they were that answered the phone the first and second time hung up on me within 2 seconds. The second women along with the first didn't even answer the phone stating their name so I have no clue who either of them were. They had zero phone Etiquette. Anna is fantastic! She was very focused and precise when cutting my hair. It's difficult to find someone who can master an Aline but she did so perfectly. She is also very nice and personable. I recommend asking for her. The salon was much more pleasant than my last pop-in. Previously it has a very strong chemical smell, however today it wasn't bad at all. Clean and organized. Close and sufficient parking with easy access to the Summerlin/95 highway. This chain carries the name brand products I prefer, specifically Bedhead, and it's not crazy overpriced like other salons and stores charge. Anna was also very knowledgeable about the products. Only reason for the 4 Stars is because there was a woman there that had a pushy tone, as if she was hoarding cattle and not attending to customers. I'm glad she didn't help me. I have a stylist I go to faithfully. However, this time it was an emergency and I needed a haircut at an odd hour on VERY short notice. Went into this Great Clips at 8pm on a Tuesday night and was greeted by stylist Alicia. Explained what I wanted done: shampoo, clean up the ends, texturize my flat/fine hair and round brush/blowout. Alicia gave me EXPERT service and had me in and out with an awesome cut in record time!! I'm shy, so no pix here! But definitely super pleased with Alicia at this Great Clips! Okay... So this is the Great Clips I ALWAYS go to... There's a reason for this... The service is always great and the people who work here always pay attention to what you want and are willing to try their best to make you look as good as you can..."hair-wise" anyhow...with whatever hair you have or have left. :) After waiting a little longer than normal to get a haircut, which is not a great idea for me as my gray hair becomes even MORE pronounced, I decided to wander in to my neighborhood Great Clips. As luck should have it, the "usual suspects" are working the afternoon/evening-shift. I've never been here during the early part of the day as I work late at night but I'm sure that if the night crew is any example, the day crew must be awesome as well. Sasha cut my hair tonight and it turned out great as always. She is very personable and detail oriented as is probably exactly what you really want from someone with this occupation. Seeing as how I wear glasses, I totally trust her judgement when it comes to whatever she thinks she needs to do to keep everything looking okay, like a quick eyebrow trim (apparently my eyebrows grow just as fast if not faster than the hair on my head). :-/ I've never had a bad haircut here and the people that work here (and have worked here in the past) have always been fun to talk to and interested in giving you the haircut you want. I checked in online and got there early and people who came in AFTER I did and werent online customers got helped first. From what my joke of a hairstylist said, is that the women there do not like cutting women's hair. Most likely because they don't know how, I'm a prime example. The staff here is rude and act like they are American Crew or Toni and Guy trained, which they're clearly not. Lets fast forward, I HAD really long hair, I asked my girl for some layers and to have my thick hair texturized. I asked her about 5 times, if she was ok cutting it and she said yes. She basically gave me a mullet and sent me on my way. My hair was butchered, seriously. It looks like she took a bowl and placed it on top of my head and cut around it then left the rest long. It looked stupid and the layers on top were soooo short I couldn't even use a small curling iron. She also did a hack job on my sons hair. I've been to about 3 Great Clips and this is the one i have decided to go to. The staff is very friendly and open, even at their peak times. I went to the one in summerlin and they are more expensive, i'm not sure why? This place always accepts my coupons i get in the mail without hesitation and they treat me well. The other one on sahara and durango that i went to didn't really convince me because of their staff. It's closer but that's not the point. Here, they charge the standard Great Clips rate and when they send coupons, it's for $6.99 a haircut which is great! The diversity of their cosmetologists is great too! read more
