Was also a little Chocolate Covered Strawberry: tasted more like box cake but the strawberry compote was a great touch Banana Pudding: the actual cake once again tasted more like yellow box cake, but the whipped butter cream and filling screamed of banana pudding. What's good people? Today we headed out south for cupcakes! I saw this place on a reel on Facebook. These cupcakes looked as the name of the "AMAZING ". The people were very nice & pretty laid back. The display of baked goods looked great! They sell cookies, slices of cake, whole cakes & cupcakes. I was there for the cupcakes. Location is a bit seedy but I'm from the city so I know how to move out there. Upon entering we didn't smell any baked goods? Hmmm bakeries usually have delicious smells not here. So I'm guessing they don't bake in house. The presentation is very nice! As we eat with our eyes first. BUT the taste was totally different. We got a half dozen costing $25. We got 1 of each: Banana Pudding cupcake, strawberry crunch, strawberry caramel, Dubi chocolate strawberry, strawberry cheesecake, cookie butter. All of them were extremely dry, tasted old not freshly baked, and dense! Cake should be moist and somewhat airy. The Dubi chocolate strawberry cupcake did taste fresh and it was moist but it didn't taste very good. I'll give all 6 of those cupcake. 2/10!! The experience for me is not worth returning. I've been hearing about AmazCakes for a while. I had it saved so when I came home to Chicago to visit, I could try it. My kids and I flew in and went straight to AmazCakes. It was easy to find and I was able grab a spot quickly on the street. Everyone inside the bakery was very nice and there were quite a few options of various cakes, cupcakes and cookies. The reason I was here was for the caramel cake! I'm a self proclaimed caramel cake fiend! The cake itself, was soft and moist with a great flavor! The caramel was the only thing about the whole visit that disappointed me. The caramel is really more of a dulce de Leche, versus a true caramel. Angelica's Bakery was the only place that I could get a good Yellow Cake with Chocolate Icing out of the places I had tried so far. So I said AmazCakes has one let me go ahead. I stopped by one day on my lunch and it wasn't to busy but parking can be a lot. When I walked in it was set up nicely and I was greeted. I was a little sad because I didn't see it in the display case. So I asked for and the lady handed it to me and I paid. I got a Yellow Cake with Chocolate Icing and when I tell you the portion size was huge but the cake was moist with the right amount of Chocolate. I even let my friend try it and she enjoyed it as well Pricing was okay for the size of sliced cake you get and the customer service was great. I have been back a few times. The cakes I ordered from here was not as appealing as some of the comments says. I ordered the turtle and strawberry crunch cheesecake. I both of the cakes it looked as is cream cheese was just placed in the middle, no bells, no whistles. The strawberry cakes tasted like it was made from a box and the cake for the turtle cheesecake seemed to be box made also. One thing I can say is the slices are nice sizes but they need to rethink the prices if the cakes aren't made from scratch. Honestly, I wouldn't have given a 1 star but I had to to make a post. Nothing amazing about the cupcakes. I was in the area so I decided to stop by. It took me several days to try the half dozen purchased. Here are my thoughts: - these cupcakes are dense and dry not light and moist - the frosting is also heavy and taste like pure sugar without much flavors - the strawberry crunch was not good - the banana pudding on the inside was gross and gooey - the salted caramel actually had a bit of moisture but the density of the entire cupcake makes it hard to eat - the carrot cake did not have cream cheese frosting as told to me in the store - the Oreo cupcake didn't have but a sliver of cheesecake on top and again lacked flavor outside the Oreo cookie on top which catches your attention After hearing all the reviews and seeing people in this shop spend their last dollars and dimes my conclusion is this place is just not worth it. I won't be in the area nor will I make the trip to try anything else they have to offer. This place is hot now but the lack of appeal on the inside reduces any potential charm this place could have. Once the buzz dies down this place won't last long and I hate to the bearer of bad news because the staff was nice and there wasn't a long wait guess I know why now - nothing amazing about it! read more

The inside was beautiful and I know if someone was to throw an event there they would be pleased. I was assisted right away when I entered which was great. If I was rating this on customer service they would have five . We are here for the desserts though, the cookies I bought were amazing. They were moist, tender when bitten, and they dissolved in the mouth with ease. They are huge in size which is good because this place is not cheap. As a cake decorator who does sales on the side, I understand. I could do without the icing drizzle on top though. It makes the cookie too sweet to finish a whole one in a day. The cake I had though was not the best flavor wise. Because it's because it was sitting on the shelves but the cheesecake in the center had a gritty texture and was not silky smooth like a normal homemade cheesecake should be. Plus the cake was too overpowering with banana extract that took over the moistness of the cake. Also the frosting was too sweet and had a weird texture to be called any kind of icing. I may not like buttercream but if the texture and taste is there I will not be biased when rating desserts. Check my other review and all other buttercream items I had; that was buttercream. I don't know what kind of sweet attack that was on the cake. Usually when I do a banana pudding cake I keep it all in the whip cream and mousse family, no vanilla icing will ever touch it. The owner has been plying her craft for quite a while and I'm happy that she seems to be succeeding at doing what she loves. I am, however, a bit of a purist and pastry/dessert snob. I read the ingredient list displayed on each clamshell container and none listed butter as an ingredient, but I bought several items anyway. While I made/had a few cakes that were made with vegetable oil and turned out well, I am not a fan. Cakes need butter! lol All in all, this definitely seems to be a spot to check out if you need a birthday, shower, or other personalized cake. I found out about this place through a groupon I recently bought, and I was excited to check it out. You never know when you'll need a birthday/other type of cake and the reviews on google and facebook were all high. Cakes are their specialty; when I got there today a lady was buying her daughter's 16th birthday cake and it was beautiful. My needs were more simple: a couple of slices of cake for me and some cupcakes for my nieces. So far I've tasted the banana pudding cupcake, a snickers cupcake, and a cookie crusted chocolate cupcake. The snickers cupcake was excellent, very moist and delicious. I thought the other two were very good too, though not as good as the chocolate one. I have high hopes for the rest of my treats and I definitely plan to come back. read more

I ordered delivery using the Uber eats app and the bakery called to tell me two of the items weren't available. I asked for a refund for those two items and the woman said I would need to call Uber and handle that, which I've never had to do before in all my experiences using delivery apps. The businesses should be handling that with the delivery apps, not the customer. I called Uber and was on the phone for 15 minutes, only to be told that I would need to call back. I ended up just cancelling the entire order because it was WAY too much work for 4 freaking cupcakes. I'm sure they're good but they really need to figure out their delivery because this was way too much stress to put on a customer, and a bad first impression. So...My daughter ordered her baby shower cake from here. She went in, ordered & paid half down on it ($180)TWO weeks prior to the day of the event. We stopped by A WEEK before the event to purchase A slice of the different varieties of the cakes so we can get a feel of what the cake was going to taste like. IT WAS GOOD & we double checked to make sure the cake design was correct. Ok...everything went well & we were looking forward to picking up the cake on the day of the event (March 24th) Here's where everything went down hill.... went in, the cake was gold and cream instead of the royal blue, gold and white that we ordered. It was an hr before the party. Upon is telling the cashier that it's not what we ordered she was apologetic & asked if I wanted to talk to the owner of course I said ABSOLUTELY so she called her on the phone & after I told her she said well, it's still the cake do you want us to put some blue stuff on it? I said I want it to be the way it's suppose to be... one of the girls in the back said they could put a blue edible blanket on top & she did & it looked like it was thrown on there for the hell of it!! I asked the owner how was she going to compensate us for this inconvience. She said I can give you 10 OR 15 dollars off. How in the hell do you offer a discount with an "OR"? I told her at the least you can take off $50 and you can try to put more blue on it. She said she couldn't do that because we're still getting the cake. However you don't offer refunds??? There is NOOOOOO way a $360 cake should have made with the colors y'all wanted to make it and just forget about what the order clearly said and you have that attitude like "oh well". The owner's attitude was unprofessional and non-chalant and the cake looked it was done by the little girls that were in the back. The cashier (which I found out was the owner's Mom) Was very nice and understandable but she only took off $20 instead and offered other items in the store but hell we didnt want them because it was not the color we wanted and at that point we had a bad taste in our mouths with how it all went down and caused my pregnant daughter to be stressed out. Then...the cake was a big heavy clump of sugar. Only thing was good was the strawberry filling. I was mostly disappointed in how the error that they made was handled.
