We leased a SUV for my wedding party out of their Midland/Odessa airport office. Our wedding was June 6, 2025, at a resort about 40 miles from Marfa, Tx. After the wedding, we drove from our resort into Marfa, Tx., for dinner about 40 miles away. After dinner in Marfa (about 5:00pm) on our wedding day, our SUV had a flat tire in front of the restaurant. We called National Car Rental who transferred us to customer service who transferred me to their roadside assistance (totally worthless). We were told to take the car to El Paso, Tx., 194 miles away or 2 1/2 hours. Obviously they don't understand stand what a flat tire is. After 5 calls to National Car rental (5 messages sent to Midland/Odessa office at the airport were never answered) and their roadside people, nothing happened. We were promised time and time again to wait where we were and a replacement SUV would come. Never happened. Around Midnight, with 7 adults a 3 year old and infant, we got a ride back to the resort. Arrived at the resort around 2:00AM! The next morning we finally got ahold of a small rental place in Ft. Stockton, TX, 1 1/2 hours away, called Small Town Car Rental. These people were wonderful! They bent over 18 different ways to help us. They brought us a SUV. When we returned the SUV to them in Ft. Stockton, Tx., they drove us to the Midland airport to fly home. National Car rental ABANDONED us on our wedding night and have yet to contact us about it. I just thank God we weren't out on a highway, in West Texas with 90+ degree temps with a 3 year old and an infant. I have yet to receive any calls or correspondence from National Car Rental. National Car Rental will ABANDON you too! Never rent from them. Pass this message to your friends and work associates. NATIONAL CAR RENTAL WILL ABANDON YOU ON THE ROAD!

But during my trip, Hertz did not live up to the standard it had made me accustomed to during my previous trips. So with that said, I decided to go with Enterprise. Enterprise did not disappoint! From the car selection to the staff, I was treated as a platinum presidential circle member (I'm not sure what tiers Enterprise has for its members). Arrived at Midland Airport at 1205pm. Had a van reserved for noon. Approached the Enterprise…read morecounter, presented my reservation. Shit went south. But first , some background. I have a credit card for emergencies. I do not use it for anything other than emergencies. Prior to flying to Midland, TX, my wife and I called Enterprise and inquired about the following itinerary; fly into Midland, pick up a van at Midland, drive to San Angelo, drive to Omaha, NE and return van to Enterprise at the airport in Omaha. All with just a debit card. The Enterprise rep on the phone stated that debit card would be fine as I was dropping the car at an airport and had air itinerary to prove the same. Now, fast forward to the Enterprise counter at Midland. "You don't have a credit card with you? Im not giving you a car. Leave the line." I explain several times how I had spoken to Enterprise reps via phone, prior to traveling, that all I needed was a debit card. I was denied service. I presented a confirmation email, along with call logs with Enterprise. The young man I was speaking with didn't seem to care one bit. Even after explaining the gravity of not being able to receive a rental car. A woman who seemed to be his boss, advised that he needed to honor the rental. She spoke with me and explained that debit rentals were fine when your plane itinerary was for the same airport and not two different airports. I referred to the agency's website where this was not elaborated; solely that you were only required to provide return flight itinerary, not for the same airport. She agreed and provided the car. I was nearly left stranded in Midland, TX, with no effort to remedy the situation. Thankfully the young woman intervened and made the situation right. I wish I knew her name. She was African American. I hate to make assumptions but she seemed to have a Caribbean accent. She was a life saver!!!!!! Thank you miss!

IF you know how many miles you will go over, she will charge you ten cents, provided you pay up front. ( How does one know how many miles they may go over ?) If you DON'T pay for those mile up front, then she hits you for 25 cents a mile, over what she figures was correct. I even called back with a competitor's price, and she had no desire to make any kind of deal. Bear in mind, I have done business on my side with this company before, and it cut no mustard in her brain. She has no business sense, of any kind, just a bloodthirsty desire for the ability to cheat someone when they turn in their car. ( Probably why her lot is full of unused cars....?)
