This is a VERY late review, but I needed to post it. I want to say thanks to the Enterprise team for helping me out during my trip to Midland. I have been a Hertz loyal member for years. But during my trip, Hertz did not live up to the standard it had made me accustomed to during my previous trips. So with that said, I decided to go with Enterprise. Enterprise did not disappoint! From the car selection to the staff, I was treated as a platinum presidential circle member (I'm not sure what tiers Enterprise has for its members). Arrived at Midland Airport at 1205pm. Had a van reserved for noon. Approached the Enterprise counter, presented my reservation. Shit went south. But first , some background. I have a credit card for emergencies. I do not use it for anything other than emergencies. Prior to flying to Midland, TX, my wife and I called Enterprise and inquired about the following itinerary; fly into Midland, pick up a van at Midland, drive to San Angelo, drive to Omaha, NE and return van to Enterprise at the airport in Omaha. All with just a debit card. The Enterprise rep on the phone stated that debit card would be fine as I was dropping the car at an airport and had air itinerary to prove the same. Now, fast forward to the Enterprise counter at Midland. "You don't have a credit card with you? Im not giving you a car. Leave the line." I explain several times how I had spoken to Enterprise reps via phone, prior to traveling, that all I needed was a debit card. I was denied service. I presented a confirmation email, along with call logs with Enterprise. The young man I was speaking with didn't seem to care one bit. Even after explaining the gravity of not being able to receive a rental car. A woman who seemed to be his boss, advised that he needed to honor the rental. She spoke with me and explained that debit rentals were fine when your plane itinerary was for the same airport and not two different airports. I referred to the agency's website where this was not elaborated; solely that you were only required to provide return flight itinerary, not for the same airport. She agreed and provided the car. I was nearly left stranded in Midland, TX, with no effort to remedy the situation. Thankfully the young woman intervened and made the situation right. I wish I knew her name. She was African American. I hate to make assumptions but she seemed to have a Caribbean accent. She was a life saver!!!!!! Thank you miss! read more

Enterprise Rent-A-Car - Waiting at the counter - Car Rental Near Me - Midland, Texas

Was recently in Midland on business and our company did not have a pool vehicle for me, so I got online and booked a vehicle as soon as I could, Enterprise had a vehicle so I reserved and went to the counter. The rental car agent who helped me, was friendly and very knowledgeable, and familiar with our company. The process was quick and easy, she covered everything from if I wanted insurance, if I wanted to fill the tank up ahead of time or just pre-pay. Had no issues with my rental, it was a brand new 2023 Toyota 4 Runner, this was one of the few times a rental vehicle was actually clean and there was actually a complementary Clorox sanitation, wipe. I signed up to get notifications via text. They notified me plenty of time before my rental was due, and when I returned it, it was seamless. Great customer service again, and my wife and I have rented from enterprise a few times, and I will definitely use them again. read more

I came into Midland and had a booking for Enterprise. Surprisingly when I went to their booth there was no one in line. I was the only customer. The disappointing thing was I usually get a free upgrade, Tahoe or Charger. They did not have the vehicle I wanted. I was going to be given a Chevy Aveo (Geo Metro Type) or a Ford Focus. These vehicles were too small for me. They intervened and I ended up with a Pontiac Vibe hatchback. The vehicle had air conditioning but there were no automatic windows or door locks so I had to repeatedly remember to manually lock all the doors or my stuff would have been stolen. It took me back to the early 90s, lucky me. Excluding the cheapass vehicle, the people at the counter were friendly and helpful. Next time I will reserve a bigger vehicle. read more

Enterprise Rent-A-Car - My non automatic vehicle - Car Rental Near Me - Midland, Texas

I wasn't going to go out of my way to review Enterprise based on my last experience, but I'm still waiting on a call from their area manager due to the horrible experience I had at the Midland airport. I received an email from Enterprise, asking me to rate them, and I thought, "sure! Why not?" This was actually the single worst experience I've ever had renting, and I've rented somewhere around 500 cars in my life. I don't expect a lot, just a basically clean car ready when I get to the rental car counter since they know that I'm coming and have my incoming flight info. I waited over half an hour, because "there aren't any cars." When pressed, Marissa went on to tell me that his is a weekly occurrence. They don't have enough cars to handle the number of travelers coming in for business Monday-Wednesday each week, and that I'd likely run into this same experience the next time I arrive. Supposedly, the cars they had were all "being washed." In theory this means that they have the cars, but can't get them processed fast enough from the time they're being returned. This means that they either need more people processing the cars, cleaning them and so forth, or just need a few more cars to accommodate the processing, or possibly that they need to adjust their workers' hours to be able to process the cars before the next days' travelers begin. arriving. Marissa actually seemed offended when I told her that I found this to be a wholly unprofessional way to do business. When I received a car, it wasn't what I'd rented or wanted, and they tried to play it off like, "due to your troubles, we're giving you this Suburban as a complimentary upgrade. First off, of course they're not going to charge me extra for something I don't want. Second, when asked for the type of car I'd rented, I was told that the Suburban was all they had and that I'd have to wait an unknown amount of time to get a sedan. When I got out to the vehicle, it was dirty inside and out. So, either they hadn't cleaned it and just lied to me, or they did the worst job of cleaning it I've ever seen; inside and out. I have video and photographs. It's been more than two business days since this rental and the time that I called Enterprise to complain, and I haven't heard from anyone. If I reserve a car, and provide my flight information, I can seen an occasional short wait for the car, but waiting thirty minutes and being told this is going to be the case every week is RIDICULOUS! read more

Made reservations two weeks in advance. Showed up on time, car was ready and I handed them my MasterCard/ debit card. They said sorry, no debit cards. So I said well I have my capital one on my phone through the capital one ap, they said nope, we have to physically have the card. So I'm like so now what, I'm stranded in this airport guys. He pointed at Avis and said try them. We have enterprise in my home town and they are just as poorly ran as this one. Understaffed and dumb policies. They pissed me off so bad I'd rather hitch hike out of this airport with a creepo then drive one of their turd cars. read more

I had a reservation for a car... my flight was delayed past the normal business hours for the branch at the Midland airport. I called in advance to see if I needed to make other arrangements. I was told a rep would be there up to 2 hours past closing to help people on the delayed flights. When I arrived in Midland a rep was there but she was only there to tell me they rented out there entire fleet. Told me I might be able to get a taxi outside. Taxi at 1am in Midland... yeah right. Zero taxis outside. I had to hitch a ride with someone who was picking someone else up. Terrible customer service... offered no help. Don't bother making a reservation because they obviously don't honor reservations. I've never been more upset with a rental car company. Terrible terrible terrible read more

We paid $894 for a Ford Explorer for five days. When we got to the car, the inside of the explorer was covered in muddy footprints all over the front mats and carpet and the back mats and carpet. The outside of the car was completely covered in West Texas dust dirt and rain spots. For nearly $900 rental fee, I shouldn't have to pay for an additional $100 detail job out of my pocket before I drive the car. Also, when I signed the paperwork for the car and got the keys, I had to sign a document that said there was no damage on the car, however I was about a half a mile away from the car and hadn't even seen it yet. I don't know how that makes sense but that's what we did. Normally, I would've objected to this, but it was 7:30 AM and I wasn't in a coherent state to argue the ridiculousness of this process. We had no mechanical issues with the car during the trip. Operated very well. I would definitely recommend enterprise and I will use them in the future, however, they need to pay attention to details in the car (regarding cleanliness), and also if you're going to sign off on a damage waiver, you need to be able to see the car first obviously. read more

I've now rented a car twice from the Enterprise at Midland airport, and I will continue to rent from them when I return in March. The service has been great - attendants are friendly and anytime there is an option between a few different cars, they let me pick my car. When there is a long line, they work hard to move people quickly through the line. Good place to rent a car. read more

Really like the price on the Rental,but the lack of communication at the front desk was horrible. Receptionist didn't even give me total just asked for my credit card and charged me and said thank you like really what are all these extra charges for, like gps bad extra insurance. read more

Picture this: You're in a unfamiliar state for the first time trying to pick up the rental car reserved for your 11 hour drive back home to a neighboring state over a week ago. You've taken and paid an hour and half taxi ride to get there only to find out they refuse to take your debit card. You call your wife to let her know they won't accept her credit card or any over the phone payment and they also refuse cash. This is a joke right? You don't have a way back to your job site and it's after 7:00pm anyway -the last flight out left at 7:30 and the guys behind the counter are taking delight in the fact that you can't get home to your wife and toddler. You're 11 hours from home. Don't know a soul. Aren't familiar with the area and had planned to already be on the road by now. Nothing when making the car reservation said "warning only forms of payment are xyz." After a three hour run around. After stressing out my wife and her thinking her and our baby would have to drive a state away and back to bring me home. After begging, yes actual begging Enterprise to take any of my payment methods but because I didn't have a plane ticket stub they refused I went to the Avis counter and finally found a great ethical company willing to help me get home to my family and take my payment. WE WILL NOT GIVE ENTERPRISE OUR BUSINESS. THANK YOU AVIS RENTAL FOR GETTING ME HOME TO MY FAMILY. read more

11/18 I was very impressed with service at MAF. I handed confirmation to attendant and her instruction was very thorough and courteous. No wait. Truck was ready and clean. Return was smooth. I would recommend Enterprise at this airport to anyone. I will say be sure and reserve early. read more

2 stars for giving me an upgraded car for Memorial Day weekend as we were going to be driving a lot but I declined all ins coverage as I have USAA that covers me on all my rentals. I should of double checked before signing, you got me for $90. I had used points for the rental and it should of been a totally free car rental weekend for me. read more

I rent cars almost 3 times a month. The staff was very friendly and quick but the car looked as if it had not been touched. The seats were very badly stained, the bumper was falling off and dragging, and there was a smell to the car. I know and understand rental cars are not always brand new but my experience could have been much better if the car had been clean and was put together. read more

These guys are crooks. Turned in a pickup truck and received a call from Enterprise 2 months later that the truck was "damaged" and they wanted $1600 to settle the claim. Enterprise provided no pics of the "damage" and by the way the truck had already been repaired and sold. No way to verify the claim. Does this sound like a scam or what? read more

Over a three year period, I rented cars in Midland on a monthly basis, and I have always received outstanding customer service at the Midland Airport location. My responsibilities have changed in the last two years, and I have not flown into Midland during that time. So it was very refreshing to fly into Midland last week, and the Enterprise service still remains the same. Thanks for always keeping the customers first! read more

If I could NOT leave a star AT ALL that would've been my option. We are EXTREMELY disappointed with our experience with Enterprise in Midland, TX. We reserved our rental car over a week in advance because my husband would be getting off of a seven week work rotation from home (Arkansas) expecting an easy breezy transaction after his hour and a half taxi ride to the enterprise location our reservation was made. Upon arriving they refused his debit card stating they don't take debit cards without a plane ticket stub. They refused cash stating that's not their policy. They refused my credit card as well as any over the phone payments and then stated they couldn't help us any further. Leaving my husband STRANDED without a plan or familiar person or landmark around because he JUST transferred to the area this past month and drove a company vehicle to Pecos,TX from North Dakota so there weren't any flight arrangements. The point of reserving a rental car was to keep from having to buy a plane ticket home!!! Now, after arriving at their counter at 7:00pm my husband and I both pleading any and every form of payment possible only for them to show absolutely NO HOSPITALITY or compassion..... we spoke to the counter worker who was very inexperienced and offered nothing helpful and we also later spoke with the manager who again could care less about the fact that the only other option was for myself and two year old to drive the 10-11 hour drive through the night to pick my husband up and another 10-11 hours BACK HOME. I am appalled that they didn't allow us ANY options. I offered to go to the agency here to prepay - nope. We thought of every angle possible and they refused us their services. And the last flight out was at 7:30 so that wasn't an option either. I can't imagine that Jack or Andy Taylor can be proud of what happened tonight......what if this were someone in your family stranded trying to get home?!? My husband FINALLY after 9:00pm [[THREE HOURS BEHIND SCHEDULE]] left to get on the road home to Arkansas for his 10-11 hour drive by going to the NEXT counter over (literally separated by a piece of glass next to each other) pleading our case and situation and renting from AVIS RENTAL COMPANY!!! We will be giving AVIS our business from here on out!!!!! AVIS was very understanding and compassionate - they were respectful and helpful!
