Our first visit here following a close friend's recommendation. The waitress was very professional and helped with our questions and food selections. A remarkable tasty meal of several plates and varying spice levels. Nicely presented plates prepared by the chef(s) We thoroughly enjoyed our culinary experience, and would definitely recommend Amarin Thai. read more

We made reservations for 8 people Tuesday night Dec 6/22 and the waitress accommodated us by moving two tables together. She gave us menus and brought us water. When taking our orders she was able to do a couple of substitutions. Our orders came out one at a time. The second one being mine which was Pad Thai with Prawns without tofu. The presentation was good but taste was bland. The rice noodles and the prawns were cooked properly but the sauce had only the flavour of Campbell's tomato soup. This was not spicy at all let alone a number grade of 2 out of 3 there was not any Thai flavour either. My husband ordered G5 the curry dish. It also had very little flavour and definitely no spice (even though the menu showed 2 halapenjos for spice). Of the eight meals only 2 were slightly satisfactory. We were very disappointed and are not likely to visit this restaurant again. read more

Only good dish tonight was the chicken laab. To charge 20 bucks for a beef entree with hardly any beef in it was absolutely atrocious. I have any plenty of noodles dishes to know that this place served pad see ewe that was extremely oily and noodles were thin and over cooked. Also entree portions should be way more for the high prices charged here. read more

Excellent, underrated Thai restaurant in Vernon. Our waitress was very sweet and chatty. This restaurant caters to vegans and vegetarians: there is a vegetarian section on the menu, and the restaurant is willing to veganize dishes upon request. Their Pad Thai and spring rolls were excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant. read more

The food quality had declined in recent years, however was pleasantly surprised with our meal. Will start going back.

Food here was delicious, but portion sizes were slightly small. The restaurant is clean and wait staff are friendly. The vegetarian Pad Thai came with shrimp, which was unexpected, but delicious nonetheless. I would return. read more

Hands Down the best Thai in the Okanagan. If your lucky enough to go there when the owners are not in thailand you are in for a treat. If your new to Thai food they have a sampler style plate for two that will satisfy you. For the seasoned palate try the kaeng khiao wan or pla sam rot. Hell try em both; I have read more

We ordered from here based on the reviews below and as Robert S says Lady G doesn't know what she's talking about, I feel the same about his review. This is by far the worst Thai food I have ever had. I too have traveled South East Asia and this food was not in the least like any I sampled while in Thailand. We ordered a green & red curry, Pad See Yu, fried rice, Mee Grob, Tom Yum Soup & cashew chicken - so pretty standard Thai dishes. It could be because we ordered via their current promotion of 6 menu items for $49 - perhaps they don't give that promotion their best quality. The curries had the strangest texture & flavor. Not all all the lovely milky base that they usually have. They were thick and goopy - almost as if they had been thickened with too much corn starch. And neither curry had much flavor or spice - they actually tasted the same as each other. They obviously gave us the wrong dish when it came to Pad See Yu - as our noodles were not wide, nor was there any pork. The noodles, and fried rice, were covered in a ton ofpepper - something I have never really see in Thai dishes either. The Tom Yum lacked any spice or lemongrass flavour. And don't even get me started on the Mee Grob. We will not be ordering from here again. This is the worst representation of Thai food imaginable. read more

Service was ok. But the pad thai is just sooo bad. We're not thai but we've had enough pad thais with our thai friend to know what's good and what's bad. The noodles are not right, it's very soft and a bit stretchy. I don't know what the sauce is. It's nothing close to pad thai sauce and It's way too salty. It's very hard to eat it so I'm actually glad that the portion is so small. read more

The BEST Thai we have tasted in many years! We traveled through Vernon and were craving Thai. Ordered to go, and could not believe how amazing it tasted once we got back to our campsite! Did not expect the level of "Taste". We ordered the Gai Pad Med Ma Muang and the Gaeng Daeng (Currie) with Rice. We got Sweet and hot and could not even decide which one was best! DELICIOUS! BRAVO... the Lady whom I presume is co owner with husband. was very personable, and we just had a really great Vibe from here! (WILL BE BACK!). We are locals and enjoy going here. it is not large but the food is good. The decor is interesting as well.

We eat in Thai restaurants regularly as this is my favourite ethnic food. This was good food, although as is sometimes the case not enough food for me, so I ordered a fancy desert which sent the price up to more than we usually spend. Loved the peaceful atmosphere of this spot. It took us a bit of looking to find it. It is quite accessible but tucked away from the main restaurant areas in Vernon. I think most people would enjoy this. Not for those who want instant food or who feel everything should be exactly the same as somewhere else. I call that franchise food and avoid it as much as I can. read more

Unfortunately the original owners appear to have sold the place. Not sure when. I went there for dinner tonight and the food was terrible. No taste what so ever, very bland ... and that's about the worst thing one could say about Thai food ... that's it has no taste. Not confident as to the longevity of the 'new' Amarin. I usually come here whenever I'm back from Vancouver and want to take friends and family somewhere with great food, a relaxed atmosphere, and extremely friendly staff. I've tried many of the dishes and have never been disappointed. Today I had the G5 Panang which is a red curry with vegetables, lemongrass and chicken. Highly recommend!! Along with really anything on the menu. The food is on par or better with Thai I've had in Vancouver, but with the added bonus of friendly customer service (a rarity in the city). I would recommend ordering a few dishes with a sauce base, along with an order of yummy rice to share. read more

My husband and I love this restaurant! The place is small, quaint and clean, and the food is fresh and delicious. Our only complaints would be this: they do seem to be closed a lot. They take a month off at a time and close Sundays and Mondays. Also, they don't deliver. But really, that's not a big deal. It just means a quick pick up or we call the sitter for the kids and enjoy a night of Thai alone. read more

One star is too much...it doesn't even deserve that. The tiger shrimp in our dish was completely raw and tasted like dirty lake water. When we told our server, she insisted it was deep fried AND grilled. She said she would talk to the chef about it. Then she brought our bill and dropped it on the table without saying a word. There were two mints on the tray along with the bill. We looked at it and saw we were charged the full $18 for the inedible shrimp so we called her over and told her (nicely) that we shouldn't be charged the full price for it. She said there was nothing they could do about it. So we told her we would not pay for it and she went in the kitchen and we could hear her and the "chef" nattering in their language. Then she came out and grabbed the bill and came back a minute later with a new bill and NO mints and slammed it on our table. Then she demanded we pay right now and we weren't even finished our wine. We went to pay and my friend said to her (again, nicely) that she didn't appreciate her attitude and that it wasn't very good for customer service. The waitress replied that she didn't appreciate our attitude and told us (not, nicely) to get out. Needless to say, we will never go back there and neither should anyone else. read more
