I visited A'Maries Day Spa for a day of relaxation and it did not disappoint. I had a Brazilian Wax, 90-minute Massage, and the Signature facial done. You immediately feel relaxed upon entry into the suite. The space invokes tranquility. The staff is very professional and courteous. The necessary precautions due to COVID-19 are in place and strictly adhered throughout servicing, which put me further at ease. The transition between my services being rendered was seamless, allowing me to remain as relaxed as possible. I felt invigorated from head to toe upon leaving. I'm leaving a 3 because the cancellation policy is Astronomically ridiculous! Hey, as a business owner myself understand you have to secure cost however you are serving human beings where things happen in life. I already prepaid for the services and there is no-refund so you got my money already, why not just let me reschedule and maybe take a small portion $25.00 or 25% but no this company takes 50% which is UNHEARD OF. I understand my emergency is not yours however taking 50% of the money that I already can't get back leaves me very upset. All places have some sort of late fee: Court Tuition Doctors Appointments Hair Bills Etc. NONE OF THESE PLACES CHARGE 50% My previous services were great, however after I spend the balance on my account of 70dollars because my other 70 dollars was taken, I won't be spending any more money with them! Also get this, I was told if I showed up to my appointment and was late but couldn't be seen because I'm too late they would charge me $25.00 to rebook it, I then asked why can't you charge me 25 now because I want my services I'm just on the side of the road waiting for Triple A. I recently, had an appointment at the Warren location A'Maries. I walked into the building with my mask on and immediately smelled sewage. A young lady greeted me and said to wash my hands and that she would be out shortly. I entered the bathroom and the smell was even stronger. I turned on the lights and noticed water coming out of the floor/ drain. Water continued to come out of the drain. I washed my hands and proceed to put paper towel down because the water was running outside of the bathroom. When I exit the bathroom, the owner was sitting at the desk checking out a customer. I told her that her bathroom was flooding. She immediately said with a nasty attitude, someone overstuffed the toilet. She then proceeded to the bathroom, and walked down the hall telling her staff she is just going to stop people from using the restroom. Now to myself, I was thinking that is not very sanitary, and you run a Spa where women need to use the restroom often. I then said to her, "I did not flood your bathroom." The water was coming up when I entered the bathroom. She throws both hands up in a stopping motion and said "you are the first person that used the restroom, and that this happened after you came out. I told her if I had done this, I would have just said that. She then went on to say that when this happens, its money coming out of her pocket. I am not a business owner, but I do know that if anything goes wrong the business owner is responsible, just as if you are a homeowner your responsible for anything that breaks or goes wrong, so I wasn't sure why she made that statement. Furthermore, if your business opens at 11:00am and my appointment was at 2:00pm and she makes everyone use the restroom to at least wash their hands. How could she say what really happened? 5 to 6 people probably went to the bathroom before me! What bullshit! She went and set down at the computer and confirmed my name and stated that she is going to refund me because she must take care of this issue. Now, what would have been appropriate is for her to ask if I would have mind another one of her estheticians provide the services to me. Instead, she cancelled my appointment and refunded me stating my money will be on my card in 3-5 business days. I support a lot of black businesses on and offline, and for the owner, Adrienne, to come at me like this is totally unacceptable to anyone. I have never disrespected this lady, I was speaking, and she asks can you keep it down I have customers. I said oh ok, like me speaking loudly isn't really going to disrupt your customers but ok, whatever. When I say I could not believe the treatment I received from her. I was more hurt that I was being accused of flooding her bathroom. I have received services from her several times. I will not stop supporting black businesses, but black businesses that treat their customers like this doesn't deserved to be in business! I will take my coins somewhere else because I know I will get better services, and treatment. She was totally out of line, and disrespectful. It is clear that just because people own a business, does not make them a businessperson. Some need to take "business 101." I am going to leave this right here for her!!! I initially learned about A'Maries Spa from an pop up add on Instagram last year, which peaked my interest. So I followed the page and decided that I would book at service at the beginning of the year. Well, due to COVID-19 and having to push my appointment back for months, I was finally able to schedule for the beginning of September. I was very impressed upon first observation of how clean and meticulous the spa was when I walked into the suite for my appointment. I had an appointment for a PureRelief Facial Massage, which seemed like 80 minutes of heaven. And with the Facial, I selected to received a leg massage, which was wonderful! Very relaxing and tranquil experience. I felt that the esthetician was very knowledgeable about my skin type, and she was also very professional. I've been trying to book for another service for the last couple of months, but the appointments are all booked up basically, so that tells you how in demand and great of a spa this is! She is knowledgeable about skin care and makes sure you leave super soft and with your lady parts supple and well manicured. Book her early and book often. Was charged a fee as well as blocked from booking and IG without being told because I said that's a shame it was a profit from Covid. Apparently that was super offensive (which I didn't know) so I Called to speak to owner directly who refused to return call. While she does do a nice massage she has become increasingly unreliable the last few months, canceling multiple appointments due to car trouble or illness. Sketchy, but things happen. Unfortunately today was the last straw. When I showed up to an appointment that I booked over a month ago, she said I was there a day early. I purchased a groupon for a Brazilian wax, upon scheduling I was Told it would be an additional $10 to do my back side. That was the first strike, why advertise a Brazilian wax when that's not what you're getting. The day before my appointment I started My menstraul and she told me that because I was Canceling with a groupon I was Forfeiting the voucher and if I wanted To reschedule there would be a fee of $14.50!!! So a total of $50.50 when advertised for $26. So many hidden fees. Not understanding. Difficulty rescheduling. Not my cup of tea. read more
