We happened upon this place after a trunk or treat event at scene 75. We were not super optimistic when we pulled into the lot.. the strip look .. desolate. Boy were we in for a surprise! This - qualifies as a hidden gem in my opinion. The inside was unexpectly super nice! The staff was super friendly and attentive. I ordered a spice level 4 for my saag and my husband the lowesr possible for his tikka masal. When the food arrived... i think they got the order backwards. Mine had no spice and his had spice. When they came to check, I mentioned the mix up. He immediately went to correct the order. We, in honesty, did not mind because the food was still really good! But he insisted and remade our husbands and gave us boxes to box up the mix up. Whe. He brought the replacement, you cam tell the color difference. We overall really enjoyed the meal, and the service. We definitely will be back and would recommend anyone in the area to check it out! read more

The food was AMAZING! Not just good-for-Dayton but good period! I had the mango lassi, the samosas, and the lamb saag. Everything was incredibly flavorful. The staff were very friendly and made me feel welcome even though I was dining alone. Don't let the strip mall location deter you. The restaurant is nice inside and the food more than makes up for the location! read more

If you're eating somewhere else on Wyse Rd you're in the wrong place. The food is stellar! Get an appetizer. Get Garlic Naan, Kashmiri Naan or Bhatura. I don't think you can pick the wrong dish. We got the chicken tikka masala, chicken mushroom, dal makhani, and chicken vindaloo. All dishes were tasty! Spice levels were exactly where they should be for an Indian Restaurant! Very impressed with the food and the service. The waiter was very attentive and helped my mom pick not only a dish but a spice level. We will be back! read more

Was in Dayton for a work trip and had dinner at Amar India. My meal was amazing. I had the samosas, original naan and the vegetable korma and everything was so delicious. I will definitely be going back next time I'm in town. Highly recommend!!! read more

This is the best Indian food in Dayton Ohio and I'm willing to fight about it. The food is always so fresh and delicious they have the best butter chicken I've ever had in my life. It's more savory than sweet and go so well with naan. They're mango Lassie is also definitely worth a try. My favorite dish is chicken vindaloo. read more

We went out of our way to eat here and they said they were closed without changing the hours online. They then asked us to drive another branch which would have been 50 minutes out of our way. Very disappointed. read more

Yum!!! I love this place! I have been there twice in the past month and I will go back. They have poori! I don't see that at every Indian restaurant. It was huge the first time I had it there and full of air. My friend just stared at it not knowing what he was looking at so I popped it with my fork and we had a little laugh. I had the aloo gobhi and the aloo mater. Both vegetarian meals were excellent. My friend had chicken and vegetables and the restaurant allowed him to add extra veggies. There was a lot of food but we managed to eat all of it, including the poori. Oh, the veggie samosas were so delicious!! Overall, I think this is one of the best Indian restaurants I have been to. I will go back! read more

Excellent Indian cuisine in a nowhere strip mall on Miller Lane. Everything I tried was absolutely amazing, some of the best Alu Gobi I've had anywhere. Their Tikka Masala curry was perfectly seasoned, delicate flavors and the portions were perfect. The Roti was amazing, and the naans were delicious. Their mango pickle was very good and the stones were great for chewing on (love doing that!) Highly recommended, the prices were very reasonable, this is a 100% don't miss restaurant! read more

Trying out some new Indian places while my partner searches for the best chicken vindaloo in Ohio (it is his Everest). Amar was very tasty and a little cheaper than our usual haunts which was a pleasant surprise. We ordered takeout so I cannot speak to service but the food was hot and ready when we arrived to pick it up. Some standouts were the aloo tiki which was very very tasty and the sauces that came along with it. My partner was not a huge fan of the sauces but I loved them both. I even made a chicken tiki masala quesadilla the day after and dipped it in the leftover aloo tiki sauces which was 10/10. I will also note that we typically get spice level 9 and Amar's spice hit a lot harder than many of the other Indian restaurants which is something to know going in. I love spicy but I know it is not for everyone. All in all I will probably be back if for nothing else, their aloo tiki! read more

My first experience with Indian food. I've eaten here twice now and got the chicken tikka masala both times. It's different than anything I'm used to but I will gladly eat here. The meal comes with so much, and the second time there I got a spiced potato appetizer that came with three different dipping sauces- delicious. Everyone there is always polite. read more

The food here was very superb. Everything was cooked very well. The service could've been better, I had to continuously ask them for things like a simple refill on water. The setting was pretty nice, i felt a little enclosed. I payed $120 just for them to charge me for some lousy cut onions and a piece of a lemon. That shouldn't be something | pay for. Overall pretty well experience, don't charge for lousy things.-Asha Mahindra read more

Friendly staff. Food was amazing! Lots of authentic menu items. I don't eat Indian food much but I loved what I got!

The food is ok, and the location is near a major highway and in one of those restaurant / hotel rows. The chole bhature is the house specialty and I would recommend it mild for those who can't handle the heat. The medium was spiced with just enough kick to make it enjoyable. Paneer pakora and the lassis were delicious. The veggie pakora was edible, nothing we would order again. They charged us for the onions and lemon which is traditional accompaniment to the chole bhature. The restaurant's floor plan and decor is simple and not easy to navigate especially when the big round table is occupied. And restrooms are somewhat clean, but cringe worthy. For the number of occupants in the restaurant; the restrooms are single occupancy. Service is meh. The hostess / waitress was pleasant and accommodating, but busy serving a table of her friends. Our waiter was didn't write down our order, but surprisingly remembered our order. His response to our complaint regarding lack of salt in a dish and request for butter was met with basically disappearing for several minutes and then returning with nothing. Although the restaurant was nearly empty only three tables, we were not checked on until our waiter was mysteriously replaced by another. We wanted to order more food, but decided neither the food nor the wait was worth the effort or our money. It was obvious that they were merely killing time and we were just asking for too much of their time and attention. read more

Service was spot on. The food was spot on. Had the Lamb and rice plus Shrimp and rice. Don't know the actual name. The yogurt sauce was excellent. Also heat level was spot on. If you're thinking about it. Then try it. read more

Great food, great customer service, highly recommend it! Flavors hit home, will definitely be back!

Yuck. Poor quality vegetables, none fresh. They use a cheap frozen mix that lacks everything nice you want in Indian food. So disappointing.

We both really missed the buffet. But thanks to covid I guess that's a thing of the past asked. We went for dinner. I'm not much of a meat eater so we got 2 of the entrees with the cheese And shared them.. Got one order of a non is order of the non regular bread . Hubby liked the entree that had the peas in it I pretty much like them both about the same. He's a sweetie he gets something that he thinks I'll like as a backup in case I don't like mit's like mine. Very thoughtful very thoughtful. Our server was very new and learning.. Apparently we were actually her 1st people to dweight on.. Hope she likes it there. Once again I really really missed the buffet though it's nice to have the combination of things. Plus the buffet's nice for people that are new to Indian food that way you're trying a lot different things. But we like the food in the service everything was fine read more

My son and I ate lunch here today. Here's the scoop on the place: We were met immediately and sat at a booth with menus and water. The meal began with salads, small but a nice choice of greens, tomato and carrots. The dressing was mild vinegar based and delish. I had the Saag paneer: based on their scale in the menu I ordered a 3 in spice. It was excellent! Served with potatoes and cabbage in a curry sauce with a hint of cilantro. Also had rice, Naan bread and a rice pudding. Very good, all of it. The waitress suggested Indian tea, I took the suggestions. It looked like chocolate milk but tasted like great tea. Nice suggestion! My son had the Chicken tikka masala: same sides, and he said he loved it! Prices were very reasonable. Service was fast. They earned a 5 outta 5! read more

Great service! Great food! A little on the spicier side. But still good. The combination appetizer was PERFECT!

THE FLAVOR!!! OMG .... I am so glad that I happened upon this restaurant yesterday. By chance the Verizon store was super busy and they were right next door. I had gotten out of my car and the aroma just knocked me off my feet. IT WAS AMAZING. I knew right then I had to have some even though I already had items for dinner in the car. I was far from disappointed with that decision. I am so hooked on this one. I had the Vegan meal of Vegetable Curry-level 2, and their Nan which I allowed them to decide which one. They delivered the Garlic Nan. Let me tell ya all that meal was delicious. The spice was perfect for me as I do love spicy foods but I also know that I am a bit timid when it comes down to it compared with our dear friends from India. I chose perfect. The second I walked in I saw the pride and joy in the atmosphere of both the restaurant itself and the fine gentleman that were there for us. I felt it in the spirit of the community they presented. They didn't just work there they were like a community that really cares about sharing their culture with others. I don't know how to explain this except to suggest that you should not miss out on this!! *I really think that the Nan was made right there when I ordered it! I feel that it had to have been it wasn't like any I have ever had. Looks like it is straight out of the flour bowl and into whatever it is prepared in ! From scratch not a bag. So I have to go back and check out more items on the menu ( I think I have to do that today!) COME JOIN ME FOR AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE!! read more

I was super skeptical, even with all the great reviews just because it's in a strip mall. But OMGoodness. The food was amazing. We had one appetizer and three different meals and each one was so so so good. The naan (regular and garlic) was perfect as well. The service was great and the staff quickly removed plates as they were no longer needed and checked in us regularly throughout the meal even though most tables were occupied by other families enjoying their dinner and at least 10 folks came in for to go orders. read more

While the COVID-19 did damper our experience a little, the food here was really great. We chose to eat in, and it was incredibly hot in there. The combination of that with the spicy food made it a bit of a rough experience. Other than that, the food was amazing and the service was good. Will definitely return for carry out and again after the COVID-19 restrictions are over. read more

Food was good. Service was great, gentleman checked in on us often. We will definitely be back. Very neat and clean.

The food is amazing! I definitely recommend getting the naan. They are super friendly and the restaurant is definitely a hidden gem!

We always get carry out, but the dining room is very clean. The food never lets us down! The Chicken Tikka Masala is so yummy! It is something I crave and it always tastes the same (which is exactly the way it should be). The portions give me two, if not three, other meals. The garlic naan bread and jasmine rice complete the meal. The staff is very friendly as well. read more

Yelp says it's open until 9:30. I walk across my hotel at 7:15 and they ask if I can do my order to go. There were others in the restaurant who had not eaten. She said they were trying to close at 8. If a customer walks in during business hours they normally expect to be able to sit and eat. I don't care how good the food is (I'm posting before I eat it) that's not how you treat a customer. read more

I went with an Indian colleague who recommended Amar India very highly for great Indian Food. I was not disappointed! We entered the restaurant for lunch and were immediately seated. A waitress brought us menus and ice water. We looked at the menus and ordered. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. The waitress showed me a menu note with a spicy heat scale from 1 to 5 and I ordered level 3. The food came out about 10 minutes later and it was superb! The garlic naan was perfectly done and tasted great! The chicken tikka masala was delicious and prepared to my requested spiciness level three perfectly! The accompanying rice was cooked perfectly and complemented the tika masala which I spooned on top of the rice! Overall, great food, service and value for lunch. I definitely recommend it! read more

Nonexistent Customer Service Nice location, good food, Dal was very good. However! I ordered a coconut soup that was not very pleasing after one sip and asked them to replace it with another soup (which they did), but they refused to refund me for the soup -_- Recommendation: Just refund your customers the $3.75 for the soup they don't like. It's really not worth losing a repeat customer and a one star review!! Respectfully Dash read more
