Yum!!! I love this place! I have been there twice in the past month and I will go back. They have poori! I don't see that at every Indian restaurant. It was huge the first time I had it there and full of air. My friend just stared at it not knowing what he was looking at so I popped it with my fork and we had a little laugh. I had the aloo gobhi and the aloo mater. Both vegetarian meals were excellent. My friend had chicken and vegetables and the restaurant allowed him to add extra veggies. There was a lot of food but we managed to eat all of it, including the poori. Oh, the veggie samosas were so delicious!! Overall, I think this is one of the best Indian restaurants I have been to. Excellent Indian cuisine in a nowhere strip mall on Miller Lane. Everything I tried was absolutely amazing, some of the best Alu Gobi I've had anywhere. Their Tikka Masala curry was perfectly seasoned, delicate flavors and the portions were perfect. The Roti was amazing, and the naans were delicious. My first experience with Indian food. I've eaten here twice now and got the chicken tikka masala both times. It's different than anything I'm used to but I will gladly eat here. Trying out some new Indian places while my partner searches for the best chicken vindaloo in Ohio (it is his Everest). Amar was very tasty and a little cheaper than our usual haunts which was a pleasant surprise. We ordered takeout so I cannot speak to service but the food was hot and ready when we arrived to pick it up. Some standouts were the aloo tiki which was very very tasty and the sauces that came along with it. My partner was not a huge fan of the sauces but I loved them both. I even made a chicken tiki masala quesadilla the day after and dipped it in the leftover aloo tiki sauces which was 10/10. I will also note that we typically get spice level 9 and Amar's spice hit a lot harder than many of the other Indian restaurants which is something to know going in. I love spicy but I know it is not for everyone. All in all I will probably be back if for nothing else, their aloo tiki! read more

The food is ok, and the location is near a major highway and in one of those restaurant / hotel rows. The chole bhature is the house specialty and I would recommend it mild for those who can't handle the heat. The medium was spiced with just enough kick to make it enjoyable. Paneer pakora and the lassis were delicious. The veggie pakora was edible, nothing we would order again. They charged us for the onions and lemon which is traditional accompaniment to the chole bhature. The restaurant's floor plan and decor is simple and not easy to navigate especially when the big round table is occupied. And restrooms are somewhat clean, but cringe worthy. For the number of occupants in the restaurant; the restrooms are single occupancy. Service is meh. The hostess / waitress was pleasant and accommodating, but busy serving a table of her friends. Our waiter was didn't write down our order, but surprisingly remembered our order. His response to our complaint regarding lack of salt in a dish and request for butter was met with basically disappearing for several minutes and then returning with nothing. Although the restaurant was nearly empty only three tables, we were not checked on until our waiter was mysteriously replaced by another. We wanted to order more food, but decided neither the food nor the wait was worth the effort or our money. My son and I ate lunch here today. Here's the scoop on the place: We were met immediately and sat at a booth with menus and water. The meal began with salads, small but a nice choice of greens, tomato and carrots. The dressing was mild vinegar based and delish. I had the Saag paneer: based on their scale in the menu I ordered a 3 in spice. It was excellent! Served with potatoes and cabbage in a curry sauce with a hint of cilantro. Also had rice, Naan bread and a rice pudding. Very good, all of it. The waitress suggested Indian tea, I took the suggestions. It looked like chocolate milk but tasted like great tea. THE FLAVOR!!! OMG .... I am so glad that I happened upon this restaurant yesterday. By chance the Verizon store was super busy and they were right next door. I had gotten out of my car and the aroma just knocked me off my feet. IT WAS AMAZING. I knew right then I had to have some even though I already had items for dinner in the car. I was far from disappointed with that decision. I am so hooked on this one. I had the Vegan meal of Vegetable Curry-level 2, and their Nan which I allowed them to decide which one. They delivered the Garlic Nan. Let me tell ya all that meal was delicious. The spice was perfect for me as I do love spicy foods but I also know that I am a bit timid when it comes down to it compared with our dear friends from India. I chose perfect. The second I walked in I saw the pride and joy in the atmosphere of both the restaurant itself and the fine gentleman that were there for us. I felt it in the spirit of the community they presented. They didn't just work there they were like a community that really cares about sharing their culture with others. I don't know how to explain this except to suggest that you should not miss out on this!! *I really think that the Nan was made right there when I ordered it! I feel that it had to have been it wasn't like any I have ever had. Looks like it is straight out of the flour bowl and into whatever it is prepared in ! From scratch not a bag. I was super skeptical, even with all the great reviews just because it's in a strip mall. But OMGoodness. The food was amazing. We had one appetizer and three different meals and each one was so so so good. The naan (regular and garlic) was perfect as well. The service was great and the staff quickly removed plates as they were no longer needed and checked in us regularly throughout the meal even though most tables were occupied by other families enjoying their dinner and at least 10 folks came in for to go orders. read more

Yelp says it's open until 9:30. I walk across my hotel at 7:15 and they ask if I can do my order to go. There were others in the restaurant who had not eaten. She said they were trying to close at 8. If a customer walks in during business hours they normally expect to be able to sit and eat. Holy crap I love this place! Amar is fast! Amar is friendly! Amar has huge portions that will fill you up! Amar has great flavor, great spice, and great tasting food! I went with an Indian colleague who recommended Amar India very highly for great Indian Food. I was not disappointed! We entered the restaurant for lunch and were immediately seated. A waitress brought us menus and ice water. We looked at the menus and ordered. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. The waitress showed me a menu note with a spicy heat scale from 1 to 5 and I ordered level 3. The food came out about 10 minutes later and it was superb! The garlic naan was perfectly done and tasted great! The chicken tikka masala was delicious and prepared to my requested spiciness level three perfectly! Love Love Love the food. Hours are annoying. I've called twice around 7:30-7:40 (they close at 8:00) and they've told me they were closed. Seems very early to stop carry out. Also several times I've called when they were supposed to be open and the phone rings and rings with no answer. I understand things have been tough since Covid but at some point as a customer I just give up. As others have said, they have also raised prices and reduced serving sizes.
