I was really hungry so I made a quick stop at the closest food place I could find. Was super excited to see a mexican spot so I decided to give it a try. Firstly, the service was good! The lady behind the counter was really accommodating and patient. Second, food came out quick so that helps. Actual food review: I ordered the pork burrito and they gave me a decent amount of pork. However, there was a lack of rice, onions, and cilantro. Pork was super dry and bland, almost flavorless. I'd probably be willing to give it another try but with a different item in hopes of it being better next time. LA just has so many great mexican spots this one just didn't do it for me. read more

Saturday night we ordered food from here. I order a ground beef torta. The torta arrived and it wasn't how I was picturing jt. The ground beef has some kind of sauce on it. Do not order a Carne Asada burrito unless you want to be disappointed and left hungry. The carne (meat) was not freshly made and not even hot. The burrito was mainly onions and cilantro. The flour tortilla was over grilled with portions burned and crumbled when bitten. Staff not friendly and lacked customer service skills. @Karol- I ordered two carne asada burritos from 5th and Mount Vernon , San Bernardino location, and both were a complete disappointment. They were saturated in grease to the point of being disgusting. The first was just meat and beans, and the second had guac, sour cream, and pico--but both were way too greasy to eat. I expected better quality and consistency. Definitely not ordering burritos here again unless things improve. Obviously, you need to fix this. For now I'll stick to Taco Trucks. This is the worst menudo I have tried. The meat was over cooked, the meat was not clean, and the menudo smelled. If you know how to make menudo it's a process and the meat should be cleaned well before cooking it. Will never be coming back for menudo here. You can add any meat for additional cost, but original is best. The only flaw was the temperature of the enchiladas seemed cold compared hot beans and rice. Small setback but noticeable. The cashier that starts at 4:00 (I'm sorry that I never asked her name) is amazing. She knows us what we order. She's kind, courteous, and very attentive. I was craving the pork fries and decided to place a small order. When I opened the container there was not enough nacho cheese. When I asked for some cheese the cashier told me they portion their servings and if I wanted more cheese I had to pay $1.09 for 2 oz of cheese. Mind you I had already paid $9.52. COME ON NOW!!! If you ever had an all pork burrito back in the day from Amapola, the FIRST one on Mt. Vernon and 6th St. then you'll know what I'm talking about. Although they come close to the original recipe it's just not the same. I've given the one in Colton a chance to come through but the flavor is just not there. This is for the Colton location. I absolutely love the carne asada tacos here! We live up the hill, and because of Friday traffic, we had to find a place to eat dinner before we drive up. This place is great to sit down and eat in peace. I see a lot of people pick up their orders too, so they do that. We eat here every Friday. Five tacos each. The horchata is good as well. The lady who takes our order is always nice. Always great to see a happy face behind the counter. Amapola has an extensive but not crazy menu on the wall, but I love the tacos so much I haven't tried anything else. Also, they give you nice thick slices of grilled onion, even though the tacos already come with fresh diced onions (and cilantro, and finely chopped cabbage), sticking them in the tacos makes them much more delicious! Oh, they have red and green salsas to put on your taco. I find the red one too hot, so if you're new, I'd start off with the green first. Amapola makes me look forward to Friday's. read more
