I had the worst experience today. My family and I chose this location to have dessert because it was one of the few restaurants that was open late in the downtown area and had multiple dessert options, and great reviews. Upon arriving we waited a few minutes before someone was able to get to us. A guy seated us and then a female waiter approached us. Immediately she gave her name which I won't disclose out of respect. Once stating her name she went right in to giving us the daily specials then proceeds to ask for our drink order. I asked for the dessert menu and she response was, is that all you're having? I answered, yes and drinks too. She then turns to the rest of my party to say, and what are you having? They answered, "dessert and drinks too." She response with, "then y'all can sit outside!" How rude?! It was so rude and degrading! Who would stay to eat or spend money after that is wild! This service doesn't even deserve one star!! The service was trash and I hate that my family had to experience such. I would not recommend this place especially if you're just ordering dessert and drinks, apparently it's frowned upon or not worthy of their time! 0/10

Place is nice and fancy looking. Food definitely takes a while to come out that's for sure. My friend got the duck and she loved it. I ordered the salmon, it was okay but the sauce was way too sweet. Portion was big but pricey. The service was nice. Our waitstaff was accommodating and check on us regularly

Server signed my check himself and typed in gratuity. When I asked why, he said that is what we do here and walked away.

Attended restaurant during carnival. Our server was Manny. He described the specials well, gave food recommendations, gave a full description of the menu. He also discussed the various concerts occurring during the week. Food was just ok. I had the Zarzuela de Mariscos. It is a spicy tomato based seafood dish with Costa Brava-style Seafood Casserole of Snapper,Grouper, Salmon, Mussels, Clams and Shrimp served with by Rice. I wasnt the greatest fan of this dish. The issue is Manny adding his own gratuity to a paper written bill and signing my name on the credit card statement. Gratuity on the menu is added to parties of 5 or more. As a former server who has just raved about the great service i received, I am appalled at this behavior This is illegal and I will be reporting him to the manager and disputing it with my bank. Assuming a party of 3 won't tip properly because they're black is insane. He needs further training and to be fired.

My family and I headed here for dinner the other night--and we loved it! We were immediately drawn in by the beautiful, quaint, European-style outdoor dining area. It was perfect and made for a lovely evening. Our server was excellent and attentive. The food may come out a bit more slowly than some might expect, but I recognize this as a cultural difference. Honestly, it enhances the experience, giving more time for conversation and fellowship. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal--from the warm rolls at the start to the entrées and dessert. I had the Chicken Piccata, which was fantastic, and finished with a crème brûlée. Everything was top-notch and absolutely delicious. I should mention--I know the owner's daughter, which is what first brought this place to our attention. But even if we hadn't had that connection, I think we would've stumbled on something truly special here. Looking back, this was probably the best dining experience we had during our week on the island.

Beautiful outside sitting (Italian style) . Excellent food and good selection of wine.

We came to Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas USVI on the Celebrity Beyond but wanted to experience some great food & found it at Amalie Cafe!! Our server JB was amazing & fast to allow a leisurely meal but fast & professional service ! He was AMAZING!! The ambiance was quaint but elegant. In the small, old walkways off the shopping district, tucked away, we sat on the covered out door porch with a nice breeze. It was wonderful for experienced foodies like us!

Stopped by Amalia Cafe for dinner this evening, a short dinghy ride from St. Thomas Bay.... within walking distance of the dingy dock. Very nice dinner. Half the table shared a pitcher of sangria, the red variety, which was not too sweet, full of fruit and pretty darn tasty! The first courses were gazpacho and piquillo rellenos shared with the table. The soup was good, the peppers stuffed with cheese and cod, smothered in a tomato sauce was better! The shared entree was zarsuelos mariscos ... very tasty! Very fresh seafood in a tomato-based sauce, rice on the side. A good dinner, reasonably priced. We'd visit again when in STT!

Seafood platter (half, split with sister) snapper, calamari, shrimp, mussels, rice, and asparagus $52 (for whole order).

This place is a solid 3.5! Had a reservation for a party of 6 and was seated immediately. First thing I noticed was that the prices at this place are absorbent! I don't mind pay a lot of money for my food, but the food has to be well worth it! Nothing really blew me away here. The seafood was fresh and cooked well but I believe the shrimp on my plate had Gone bad and died 6 years ago. I didn't eat it. Portion sizes were a little in the small side, but I could lose a few. Very romantic ambiance! Intimate! Dim lighting (that's why all the food photos are dark! Lol) Our waiter was kind and attentive. There's everything for everyone on the menu!

In a place where highly priced restaurant dot the island, The Chicken Fry is a great spot to pick up lunch and dinner (no tables) and fill your beach/work hunger. We had 3 big plate orders of stewed chicken, white rice, and yellow plantains, also comes with a side of beans. The chicken was moist and juicy especially with the savory sauce it was cooked with, the rice wasn't dry, the plantains ripe and well cooked, and the beans were seasoned and spiced just right. Service was friendly, fast even with the constant influx of people coming in. Fresh food was coming from the kitchen even by 745pm. The interior is simple, no frills, and well lit. We parked our car on the street and it took us less than 10 min to get our order. The road may seem sketchy to outsiders especially at nighttime but we had no problems finding the place. Would come back to try more of their food and would recommend! Small plates are around $8-9, and big plates start from around $12. Our big plate with the stewed chicken. Rice, plantains and a side of beans were $12 each. Oxtail big plate is $18 . Cash and credit cards accepted.

We were left wanting more to be honest, it was very good! Next we had the paella. I liked this paella, I did, BUT, it was not flavored as an authentic Spanish paella. I was disappointed about that, but I still enjoyed the dish. It was a bit spicy, more like scratchy lol, but had lots of seafood and the rice was cooked perfectly (imo). My husband finished with a unique vanilla azafran dessert. I guess they used the azafran in the sorbet and not the paella . I did not like this ice cream. It tasted like soap to me lol. She was incredibly kind and welcoming, and the service overall was exceptional. We started with the Virgin Islands crab cakes. Two flat crab cakes, packed with real lump crab meat. Moist, flavorful, and not stuffed with filler. They came with a sauce that had this cinnamon apple ketchup vibe to it which sounds odd but somehow worked. I was skeptical at first, but I ended up loving it. For the main course, we had the Filet Mignon ($68). The menu mentioned that it was served with honey spiced asparagus but instead came with carrots. It also came with mashed potatoes and a coconut green peppercorn sauce. I asked for the steak to be cooked medium rare and they delivered on that. We also tried the Whole Snapper for $55. It was deep fried and served with peas and rice and carrots. Packed with flavor and very crispy. For drinks, I got the Golden Hour Martini $16. Slightly sweet, citrusy, and refreshing. Easy to sip while watching the sun set over the island. Mafolie is on the pricier side and I do recommend making a reservation prior. But between the view, the quality of the food, and the service, you are paying for the full experience.
