So I come here to meet him on a Saturday morning. This little airport is located right next to Hwy99. Very easy to get in and out. Very convenient! They have a cafe/restaurant right at the entrance but closed due to the COVID-19 situation. I think I will try them out next time when I'm there again. The airport doesn't have very high security like the big commercial airport. I can walk in the aircraft apron without any problem. Parking is so easy. The parking lot is in front of the airport entrance and it is empty.

The Jackson Rancheria RV Park is a breeze just off Highway 88 in Jackson, California…read more This RV park easily accommodates large rigs, with plenty of pull‑through sites as well as back‑in spaces. The park is divided into four RV areas, each with its own unique feel. There are two pools: one designed more for kids, and the other a simpler, quieter pool that adults tend to prefer, though both are fully family‑friendly. A couple of clubhouses are also available for group events if needed. Campsites come with full hookups--power, water, and sewer--along with generous green spaces between sites that make the whole area feel open and relaxed. Each site includes a picnic bench, which is surprisingly convenient. Security patrols the park regularly, creating a very safe environment. The property is pet‑friendly, with plenty of grassy areas for dogs and a paved walking trail that loops around the entire campground. I was actually surprised at how many dogs were around when I really looked but no barking or other surprises on the grass. In other words, very responsible dog owners. A shuttle runs on a regular schedule to pick up guests and take them to the main casino, where you'll find gambling, restaurants, and a variety of activities. The views are spectacular, with densely wooded hillsides, rolling terrain, and plenty of wildlife including deer, squirrels, and more. It's a beautiful, peaceful setting that adds a lot to the overall experience.

We had the opposite experience and highly recommend the lodge. The manager and her husband were wonderful and very caring. They saw our Expedia reservation come in even with the power out and helped us get setup quickly. We were so grateful to have a cozy warm room with the gas fireplace stove. There was hot water and the room was perfect. When we had delays leaving the next day because of the snow and no car, they let us take the time we needed to figure things out. The manager's husband saved us in the end and gave us a ride to Murphy's so we could be somewhere with electricity (and food). He was so kind to do that and we won't forget. Thank you for having such a lovely place and it was beautiful in the snow too! Robert & Marianne

I first discovered EZ Tow Campers at the International Sportsmen's Exposition at Cal Expo and…read moreimmediately fell in love with their product. They rent deluxe, teardrop shaped tow trailers for camping, or "glamping" as some would refer to it. One look at these babies and your imagination will run wild with the new frontiers and experiences you'll be able to experience. The inside includes a comfy queen bed, a TV (not like you'll be using that), an Iphone charging station, air conditioning and a stereo system. A fold-up in the back reveals a deluxe mini kitchen. Best of all, it's all run on batteries, with the exception of an additional gas tank for cooking. The battery power should last you about a week. I immediately reserved one of the trailers for a big family get-together I'm coordinating. They come at an affordable price, too. I'm hoping this review will help spread the love about this amazing business!

So, about 30 of us go on an annual camping trip to the Point Reyes area. Most of us camp in tents…read more A couple families bring motor homes or campers. In past years, as I tossed and turned in my tent trying to get comfortable, I couldn't help but wallow in envy of those fancy camper people, tucked nicely into their cozy beds - probably looking down on me from their ivory-colored towers and laughing their way to sleep at my expense - while I suffered in a sleeping bag, either too hot or too cold, on the lumpy ground. We looked into renting a camper or motor home, but since we didn't really need a couch, table, or a place to hang out, and since it just sounded like an expensive pain in the ass, we were just resigned to doing the tent thing. Until this year. Earlier this month I was at the Amador County Fair and stopped by EZ Tow's display. This changed everything. I could rent, for a very reasonable price, an air conditioned, TV-equipped, impeccably clean, well maintained bed-on-wheels that I can tow behind my 4 cylinder Audi. Score! Instead of listing all the cool things about the little camper, I figured it would be more useful to you if I listed the things I didn't have to do on last weekend's camping trip. I DIDN'T HAVE TO: 1. Set up a tent. I just parked, and voila, I was camping. 2. Brush my teeth in some janky campground bathroom. I had my own sink and running water. 3. Monkey around with a camp stove or campfire to make a pot of coffee. The camper has a two burner stove in the back kitchenette. 4. Blow up an air mattress. 5. Sleep on the ground. 6. Alternate between overheating and freezing my balls off. 7. Roll up a sleeping bag. 8. Break down a tent and try to get it to fit back in the f#%$ing bag. 9. Try to fit a million things back in the car. 10. Clean a bunch of stuff (EZ Tow cleans the camper for you). So, there you have it. The whole trip was EZ. And Randy, the owner of EZ tow, was great to deal with. It was worth the drive from Sacramento to Sutter Creek to pick up and drop off (especially if you can work in stops at Andrae's Bakery in Amador City, or Swingle Meats in Martell). Five stars all the way.

The entire Federal Campground consists of spacious campsites intermingled underneath massive canopies of sugar pines, Cedar of Lebanon, and other deciduous trees: The Cosumes River softly babbles, emitting soothing water sounds in the not too far distance from our campsite which evokes a sense of calmness, peacefulness, and exuding a meditative quality not too many campgrounds comparatively possesses especially, CA State's Folsom Lake's Beals, Peninsula, Donner Lake, and Lake Tahoe Campgrounds which are disappointingly raucous, obnoxiously loud music blaring from portable boom boxes, and egregiously inconsiderate with the utmost abandon, people partying all night. National Hotel Jackson by Hilton, Jackson, CA…read more I'm staying here tonight in Jackson, California, at the National Hotel. It's an older motel-style property with a lot of history, and it shows in a charming, mixed-modern way. Historic charm + updated touches:** The hotel has kept its vintage character while updating as much as possible. You can really feel the history in the design, artifacts, and mirrored features spread throughout the building. The carpets are clean, I've walked on them with white socks and nothing is coming up or looking worn. Just one small smudge spotted, which isn't a big deal for me. Wi-Fi is Fast and reliable, which is great for staying connected for work. The front desk staff is amazing. Tamara, in particular, was kind, patient, and helped me check in my room smoothly. It's all-around excellent service. There are interesting artifacts and standout mirror features that add to the character of the place. Parking is across the street and you have to cross a small bridge. The parking is covered, which is nice, but the walk with luggage can be a pain for a solo traveler. I hoped for a larger bath to soak in, but the tub was quite small--barely fit. If soaking is important to you, this might be a disappointment. Some of the drawers are a bit beat up and hard to operate; they don't always slide smoothly back into place. Breakfast starts at 6:00 AM, which is rough if you need to be at work early (like me at 5 AM). A later start or grab-and-go option would be nicer for early-risers. Overall, I'd rate this place a solid 4 stars for the staff and the overall feel. It's a thoughtfully kept historic hotel that leans into its roots while still offering practical amenities like fast Wi‑Fi and clean rooms. If you're in Jackson for business or a short stay and can roll with the older-motel layout, you'll likely enjoy it. Tips for future guests It's old and creaky - light sleepers forget it. If you're solo and luggage-heavy, check in first and then grab a trolley. If soaking is important, you might want to set expectations for a standard tub rather than a soaking tub. If breakfast timing is critical for you, arrange a backup plan. Would I stay here again? Yes, for the staff, charm, and value. If you're drawn to historic hotels with character and solid service, this is a good pick in Jackson.
