Whenever I would call them to see about available shifts, they would say "There's none this week but we'll call if anything pops up." So you basically get the shifts that other people call out for or the ones that nobody wants. If you miss their call about an available shift by even 5 minutes, you already missed your chance because they'll tell you another caregiver already picked it up. They also told me they would send me my first paycheck through mail but I have yet to receive it and it's been almost a month. The lady that works there Sara told me she forgot it on her desk and would send it out that day. It's been almost a month and I asked again after I resigned and they ignored me. I don't recommend working for this company at all.

She is also in stage 5 Alzheimer's dementia and had a very bad reaction to the anesthesia used during the surgery; a very common side effect for those with dementia. Family members and friends were by her side all day and evening, but we didn't have anyone who could be there at night. Mom was having extremely vivid nightmares and would be very upset when she woke up in the middle of the night disoriented and feeling an urgent need to get out of bed and run away! Sisters Care from The Village at Incarnate Word provided the overnight coverage for us. The "angels" who helped Mom were able to reorient and help her to calm down so she could go back to sleep. They also kept her from walking on her broken ankle before it was sufficiently healed. I wish I could mention each of our caregivers directly.... Onboarding was seemless and stress free. We explained moms level of dementia and a "story" to go along with. Mom was getting a "personal assistant" once a week for companionship and shopping for any of her personal needs. The care givers were so kind! No pressure...just friendship.
