I was looking for a natural glam for my engagement shoot and that is exactly what Shyn delivered. Scrolling through the instagram photos you can see how diverse their clients are and how the makeup looks on each variety of skin tones. Being Asian, it was important to me to find someone who knew how to work with Asian hair and specifically do makeup on Asian eyes. If you are Asian, you know what I am talking about. Our natural hair sometimes struggles with curls and our eye lids and shape can be a struggle for a non experienced MUA. Being new to this process and having never gotten my makeup done before by someone other than a sales person at Sephora and this was a real treat. When you arrive, Shyn takes the time to make sure she has prepped your skin thoroughly before starting with the makeup. She even takes the time to create your own foundation concoction which will match your skin color perfectly. To me, flawless skin is a must for every bride and bride-to-be. I can already tell you that my skin looks soooo good in the sneak peak photos I received. I seriously wish she could do my make up every day. Not only is she great at makeup, she is bomb at hair! My one request was not to look like a mushroom head with my short hair. Something that a lady doing my hair earlier this year made me look like. I had a picture ready to show her just in case she needed it, which she did not, and got those soft perfect waves for my short hair that I had wanted.

As a surprise for her 13th birthday, we hired Ryann to come to the house for a 2 hour "new teen makeup tutorial" for our daughter and her best friend, it was a HUGE hit! Ryann was funny and fun, and did two great looks on each of them, a casual, age appropriate look, and then went big glam for a fancy look. When life returns to normal, we will definitely be having her back to do something for dances and proms, or other big nights. Apparently she also does great hair styling as well, we're looking forward to trying that too. Also, we felt very comfortable, they have absolutely tip top excellent COVID protocols. So when she started in makeup, oh my word... my 5 year old nephew, could have drawn a better eye liner line than she did. Which she told me she would do much better the day of... well isn't this what a trial is for? To make me look like I will day of?? I have health issues, which I explained to her. I didn't expect the end result, my fiancé had plans to go out that evening, but ended up cancelling because of how terrible I looked. Well, I tried to cancel. And oh boy, get slapped with a $500 bill for cancelling before 3 months prior to the wedding. It's almost a month and a half out, but I'm telling everyone she isn't worth the price I paid for that trial, let alone the $500 to cancel this. I have not seen this kind of contract with any location that I have dealt with and I will no longer be looking for this service after this experience. As a bride being charged a fee that's hidden in a contract, paying this woman for the day of service when she didn't do or listen to her client. No bride should ever experience what I have gone through and this woman should be utterly ashamed. Just like the last place I scolded for working my ass off to get a hold of them... no one is worth the time or money that I have experienced yet and this was so shocking, it's ripped my trust from all my vendors. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!! I already have so much to pay out for this and that on top of a cancellation fee, it's ridiculous... and this is clearly the only thing keeping her in business. No I do not recommend her and I will also be discussing this with my photographer about removing her from her site. Again, not a bridal service at all.

The haircut lasted longer than we had expected as the stylist was cutting carefully. I asked if my son was happy with his haircut, and he gave me a thumb up. Great! I guess we will come again.

I consider myself a little bit of a makeup geek and I love doing my own, so naturally it has been hard for me in the past when having someone else do it. I had Megan do my hair and makeup, as well as my sister's for my wedding and she did an incredible job. My Makeup did not budge or get oily or fade all day and even after a super sweaty dance party I was still looking flawless!!! Not to mention I felt and looked so perfect and exactly how I imagined! After I had my trial run with her I emailed her a bunch of notes and changes I wanted to make and she took those and ran with them. Not to mention, my hair was almost identical to the picture I showed her. It takes a long time to get your hair and makeup done and I had a blast hanging out with her the whole time. Megan is a true artist. I DO NOT trust anyone with my eyebrows, even on my wedding day I refused to let my hired makeup artist do my brows. When I decided I wanted to get my brows microbladed I researched everyone between Seattle and Mount Vernon, scouring Instagram pages looking at the work. What was different about Megan's work was how each person's brows we're so unique. Some had a more defined look, some more natural, I really wanted that natural look. Megan made me feel extremely comfortable, she is very easy to be around. She checks with you on shape and let's you know what's going on every step of the process. She gave my brows the natural filled in look that I wanted and kept my natural shape. I have now been back for my twice for touch ups and love them even more. I found Megan on Facebook and followed her work for some time before I made my appointment. Each client she completed had amazing results so I knew I had found the person I would have do my microblading which was a huge deal...I mean we are talking a semi permanent tattoo on my face. I drive 4 hrs to Megan because she is the only one I will trust. I have recently gone back for my 1 year touch up and Megan listened to all my requests. I received a chemical peel from her and annelise reviewed all my main concerns about my skin. She instructed how to do everything step by step assuring I knew what was being put on my skin and why it would benefit my concerns. Very sweet comforting and knowledgeable. About two weeks later, I booked a micro blonde appointment. A week after I booked it, I was told my time slot had already been taken by another client. I was flexible and moved it to the next day, but it meant taking time off work. Then, the morning of the appointment, I got a text that I'd need to cancel and reschedule because Molly was under the weather. At that point, a quick phone call would have been nice! When I finally got in, the color appointment went really well. I'm sticking with blonde and she did it in a way that's super low maintenance, which I appreciate. Overall, I'd give The Hair Bar 4 stars -- just be prepared that the online booking isn't always perfect, and sometimes a phone call is better than a text. Molly did a great job and I'm happy with my color!
