Fantastic experience!! Carter was on time, fast and really helpful. I recently bought a new home and he changed all of the locks throughout my house and casita as well as securing sliding doors and windows. He recommended economical solutions for the sliders because I told him I would be replacing them in the near future. I highly recommend him and will be using him in the future. read more

Great Service and awesome job moving the safe I bought into the home. Very professional and excellent service.

This company is a joke. The technician, if you want to call him that, came out to rekey my house. Unfortunately, was unable to finish the job because he didn't have a simple tool to rekey the front door. He promised to come back, but never did. After a day, I've called this company 6 times and they either answer and hang up or let go into voicemail. I've left several messages without 1 response. If you're looking for a professional locksmith, this ISN'T the one! read more

I needed to change to the locks on my second home in Rancho Mirage, so I contacted Carter to schedule an appointment. Carter was on time and professional. He even recommended against changing out an entire lock because he stated it was still in good condition. Most others would have happily welcomed the opportunity to increase the total bill - but not Carter. He is an honest man who completed the job quickly and professionally. The final bill was just under the quote I received when scheduling the appointment. No surprises or unexpected issues. So, I encourage anyone who needs the services of an excellent locksmith to contact Carter, a local to the desert cities, not a locksmith whose office is located in another state, like Michigan! read more

I was given a quote for the work and when the tech showed up he gave me an invoice for 20% more than the quote. When I got ready to pay the bill, I was told there was 5% charge to use my credit card.... This was not disclosed at the time I received the quote. At the end of the day, I paid in cash - close to the amount that was quoted. ] The service itself was fine. Biz ethics are not! read more

Convenient location near El Paseo. I stopped in to have keys made. There was only one person working. She seemed overwhelmed and needed help. Several other customers were also waiting. I dropped off the keys that I needed and was told to come back in 20 minutes. When I returned I was told that one of the keys that I needed made was out of stock and would be available later this week. I will stop by in the next couple of weeks and hope the service is better on my next visit. I prefer to use Always Open since they are the experts and is much easier to work with than a "box store" or a "postal place". read more

Stellar service..! If there were 6 stars available, id give him 7.. A true professional.. I had lost my keys to my motorcycle after visiting a friend on a weekend and really needed to get back home for work the next day.. After Calling all the locksmiths and lock and key services in the area, it dawned on me that I was pretty much screwed since most locksmiths translated "24 hour emergency services" to be "sure ill work anytime except on a Saturday".. I had came across this locksmiths number and promptly called him to see if he could help me out.. Even though he was at a family function, having a BBQ with family and friends he was ready to see if he could help me out.. This was unbelieveable and very surprising to me since I was probably a good hour and a half away from him.. I had given him the key code and he went to the shop to cut me a key and was hoping it would fit.. Well in the end he had cut 7 keys for me and kept in touch to make sure everything worked fine.. He had stated " I can't sleep until I know that your bike turns on" The bottom line: it was more than just business and he actually cared about my problem.. He went above and beyond to solve this tricky ordeal, sacrificed hours of his time and didnt give up until i was on my way.. The price was great and I would call him again anytime if I ever needed a locksmith.. I already have recommended him to my friends in the area.. read more

We just had one of those keypad locks installed and Carter did a great job. He really took the time and effort to put the lock in and then properly align the door to the jam and deadbolt so that the mechanical lock works properly. We will use him again. And his prices were reasonable I thought. read more

I would highly recommend Always Open Safe & Lock. Carter came to the house within the requested window, rekeyed 6 locks within an hour and offered tips to reduce cost of his services. He's extremely professional and conscience. I couldn't be more satisfied with his services. TLO - Rancho Mirage read more

This review is only regarding Carter's after hours customer service. Although he was unable to assist me at the time I most needed a locksmith, he contacted another locksmith to help me. And followed up with another call when I called back anxious. Thanks so much - customer service at it's best! read more

Carter did a great job installing a vault and swapping out the keypad for a dial on my existing safe. His prices were fair, his service was outstanding. He took the time to answer my questions and show my wife and me how to access, set, and reset the combinations. I highly recommend Always Open Safe & Lock, Inc. read more

Carter was prompt, courteous and professional. I contacted a couple of locksmiths; Carter was the only one who would give me a quote. I highly recommend his services. read more

Terrific service, trustworthy and very timely. Don't go anywhere else. They have one of the rare key shops also. I got to know them by having sets of keys copied. Great guys! We talked for quite a while about history in the desert. Wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

These guys saved my bacon. On my way to the airport to pick up the boss and like a dolt I locked my keys in the car and couln't find the wife who has the extra keys. UGH Anyway, Carter (i think that's his name) showed up in 15 minutes and problem was resolved. Made it to the airport and llived to fight another day. read more

Prompt service and courteous service. Even made a 2nd house call to rekey a door I had forgotten. Would use again and highly recommend!

Great customer service. Copied my keys right away with little wait. The only thing that kept me from giving this place five stars is the name and information on store hours is a little unclear. Yes there's a 24-hour locksmith service but the store front is only open from 9am-3pm Monday-Saturday. read more

Best service in town! Fast service, no waiting. Honesty, reliable and excellent value.

Terrific service! Carter went out of his way to help me by texting with me after hours to get all the information he needed to provide me with a quote and to order the part I needed. With my schedule this was extremely helpful and saved me a lot of time. He arrived promptly and installed the lock quickly. I highly recommend him! Thanks Carter! read more

Great fast service. Called on Sat and was able to rekey my locks on Sunday. Search no father for key work.

I was "impressed" that this company illegally changed the locks on my mothers house! At the time it was done, I was named Power of Attorney. Perhaps they went if of business doing that one to many times? I filed a police report but haven't pressed charges yet. That work was done by the guy you all have praise for. read more

The amazing thing about you guys is that you build a great relationship with you regular customers. I like that, because there are businesses out there that won't that. read more

I found Always Open Safe & Lock, Inc on Yelp. I called on a Friday afternoon for an appointment to install a lock the next morning. To my surprise, Carter was able to accommodate the last minute request. He arrived on time, was professional and polite and the charges were completely reasonable. I wont need to search for another locksmith in the area again. Very pleased! read more

Used this service when we purchased a home in PD and have used them many times since then. Just installed a security combination lock on our front gate and great service was provided. Had our own idea of what to use, but Carter provided his expertise and we changed to something more appropriate for our needs. Thanks for the advice. He took great care with the install and now we're all set. Would highly recommend this complany as they are timely, efficient, helpful and a pleasure to work with. read more

Ron arrived within hours of my call. Reasonably priced and quick, friendly service. I'd highly recommend them.

I would highly recommend Always Open Safe & Lock, Carter was amazing, his knowledge and professionalism was apart from any service we had ever experienced or could have even hoped for. :-) He spent the time needed to explain and recommend the options for re-keying and securing our new home in Indio. We also had some issues with moving a safe in our home, he managed to have the solution and take care of the relocation immediately. My husband is an amputee so we had many special needs we requested, Carter's kindness and willingness was deeply appreciated. We look forward to recommending Always Open Safe & Lock and calling upon them for any future needs. Thank you again Carter for servicing our home and for your prompt attention to the work requested and much needed, we now feel safe and secure! read more
