Jeff Gildea who advertises under both his name and under "Always on the Florr" through Facebook, was very approachable and responsive when looking to bid out the job. After receiving the job and down payment, he had every excuse for either not coming or coming late. Flu shot, Sick and contagious from flu shot (not possible to be contagious from it), sick grand kids, fierce head cold, etc.... all in a 1.5 week range. Ultimately he completed half of the work and documented pictures to get payed (as I was not home). He was very aggressive in getting paid for the first 50% (which was not originally agreed to), and met me on my way home from work. He showed pictures which looked good. I should have been smarter and known better, but once getting home took a look at the floor to find 1/4" to 1/8" on the small gaps between three different sets of boards. Additionally one of the boards was broke and elevated. Originally he came to fix a buckle in one set of boards - that I could have had resolved with a small amount of work and transition - but he was confident he could do without a transition. After his work I have 4 different new issues to fix - with the original buckle resolved. In the end he was paid $700 on a job of $650 (as he was suppose to continue to another large area), and did the worst flooring I have seen to date; additionally he put in a total of 7 hrs which equates to $100 an hour for horrible work. If there are any doubts, contact me... I have pictures and would love to share the quality he puts into his job. read more
