My insurance company demanded that I get my chimney inspected. I called several services but only Always a Chimney Sweep returned my call. They told me my system was completely shot and that it would cost me 25K to repair. When we balked, they said they could cap it off so we could put in a gas or electric model. They said it would be $5,000 to close off the chimney and it would never function normally again. We called another group of chimney repair people. They said my system was in mint condition, raged at what these men tried to pull. My wife still wanted to install an electric. They did a professional cap for $225 and left it easily restorable to full function. DO HIRE THIS COMPANY. read more

Their tech caused damage to a 2 foot section of my dryer vent duct during a dryer vent cleaning and is trying to charge me fifteen hundred dollars to repair the damage he caused! The owners response was pay or I'll place a lein on your home. I paid for the services they were hired to complete and even offered to pay for the materials for the repair. They have now placed a lein on my home and threatening to foreclose on the lein! Stay away from this business, they have no conscious. I would expect better business practices from a former pastor. read more

This company performed the work two weeks later then originally stated. They busted my septic tank while installing the chase cover. This left a hole in my front yard for months. They were overpriced and never completed the job to my satisfaction and demanded payment before they would come back out. I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

JB of Always A Sweep inspected our Chimney and Fireplace and told us in writing findings that we knew were false, and quickly found to be entirely untrue. They claimed our fireplace shouldn't be used and that it would cost either 12k or 25k from their Proposal quotes. We had the exterior paneling and cap subsequently redone for 5k. During the teardown it was 1000% verified that the Chimney was masterful, beautiful condition through out, dry, and undamaged. The Chimney and fireplace was found to be immaculate. Which is the opposite of what JB claimed in his proposals and to our faces. They were quite audacious. Steer clear of them. read more

My experience with Always A Sweep can be summed up in one word, WONDERFUL! I live just outside of Palatka, was having issues with my chimney and I couldn't find a chimney professional locally. I checked online and, at a late hour, I called Always a Sweep. I expected to get an answering machine then, Brandi answered the phone and told me they would come to my house, I sighed with relief. When they arrived, Joshua listened to the issues I was having and immediately got to work. He was extremely knowledgeable and made some very helpful recommendations as to what I needed and what I didn't necessarily need right away. I asked him to look at my dryer vent and when he did he told me to not dry another thing because whoever vented the dryer did it illegally and it was an extreme fire hazard. He told me the way it was set up was illegal, not even in code and very dangerous. Joshua, you may have saved my life. I learned that the majority of house fires are caused by dirty or improperly vented dryer vents. All in all, he did a fantastic job and I am so blessed to have found this great company. Very professional, knowledgeable, courteous and honest. I highly recommend Always a Sweep to anyone who needs their chimney, or dryer vent cleaned, inspected or repaired. In our case, this fee was $325.00. Our situation arose because a contractor modified our fireplace for aesthetic purposes but inadvertently damaged it, rendering it unsafe. Due to liability concerns, Hudson declined to perform the sweep, which we fully understand. However, we were unaware that the inspection alone--consisting of a visual assessment from our living room--would incur a $325 charge without any sweeping service provided. The company asserts that this fee was disclosed during the initial appointment setup, but we maintain that it was not. We requested a recording of the call, which was not provided. As a result, this remains a dispute of verbal assurances. We advise all potential customers to confirm all applicable charges before scheduling. The entire interaction seems as if the goal was for a sales pitch from the start. The people who came to our home were very nice but it was obvious what the end goal was from the start. For comparison, Hudson quoted us $13,500 give or take to replace our entire wood burning fire box which was deemed necessary by them but three other licensed and insured companies inspected our fireplace at NO COST and confirmed that repairs--not a full replacement--were not only sufficient but possible. This was later verified with the county. We believe transparency regarding fees is essential and the fact that we are even having this conversation serves a proof that they notice of the inspection fee was clearly not sufficient enough. We're not people who just complain for refunds. We believe in paying for services in our community. We remain out $325 for an inspection we did not anticipate, despite the company's claim of prior disclosure. I had already worked myself into believing this might involve cameras, locating equipment, drainage plans, excavation, and who knows what else. Jeremy took one look at the situation and said, essentially, "Nope." The problem was simple, and so was the solution. He explained that the pop-up drain was doing what it was designed to do, but the excess water had found an easier path underground, which also explained a soft depression nearby (this was causing a lot of soil erosion on my neighbor's property). He then spent a great deal of time walking me through the remedy: where to dig, how deep and wide to make the area, how to use gravel and plants, and how to install deeper edging so the water would disperse properly instead of gushing toward my neighbor's property. I asked a lot of questions. Jeremy answered every one patiently, then went over the plan a second and third time because I wanted to make sure I understood. He physically mapped everything out so I could clearly understand what needed to be done. There was no attempt to sell me camera diagnostics, unnecessary cleaning, excavation, or an expensive drainage system. He charged only the $79 trip fee and nothing more. That kind of honesty is increasingly rare. Jeremy could have turned my anxiety into a padded invoice, but instead gave me a practical, inexpensive solution and made certain I understood it before he left. This is exactly the kind of company people hope they are calling. I felt so relieved that I was prompted to reciprocate his honesty by writing this review.

Okay where do I begin, So I just bought my home about 2 years ago and one of my favorite parts about my home was that it has a fireplace. Well to my surprise there was wood rot around the base of my chimney. Home owners insurance wouldn't insure me until I got it fixed, the first company I called wanted an absurd amount of money. So I lost hope wayyy to soon and just had it capped off to save money. It was a hard pill to swallow. I know it's florida but I love the fire place around the holidays. I recently stumbled upon Always A Sweep. When I tell you they are the nicest people I have ever met. The owner Josh had an extensive amount of knowledge and was very clear, and explained the process of having my chimney put back. Well, I tell you Always A Sweep made my experience completely painless. Installation was fairly quick and they showed up on time!!! The MOST PROFESSIONAL AND COMPLETE Cleaning we've EVER Experienced. Almost 7 years of no attention got eliminated in about an hour and a half by ALWAYS A SWEEP. It's quite obvious, as soon as he pulls up to your home, that you've got REAL PROS working for you. Prices are EXTREMELY COMPETITIVE AND WORTH EVERY DIME. Highly recommend these folks! They were very knowledgeable about vintage chimneys (necessary, my home was built in 1916), did a thorough inspection and gave excellent advice (alas, my chimney is not safe to use), and came back to install a cover. Throughout the process, their communication was excellent, their estimates exact, and everyone who came here was professional, respectful, and very pleasant. I would highly recommend and will be using them again. I had the dryer and the chimney cleaned and am very happy with both services from beginning to end. Scheduling was easy and I was given an estimate of the fees up front. Josh was right on time and very thorough and informative. He showed me areas of concern inside the fireplace on his scoping camera and also sent me a report of his findings including pictures, a detailed explanation as well as recommendations. Really didn't know I needed my dryer vent cleaned. Never had it done before. But a neighbor had her vent cleaned by Always A Sweep and was very pleased. So I made an appointment. Joshua came out, explained what he would be doing and even showed me the debris as he cleaned the vent. When finished he explained the importance of keeping the vent clear as well as making recommendations on placement of smoke detectors & number of fire extinguishers. We moved into our 10+ year old house in On Top Of the World in 2017 and began to notice the dryer was taking longer to dry. Joshua Brosius , the owner, is the prime example of professionalism. Our dryer was taking longer to dry stuff so called them to set up an appointment to get vent looked at. They called back right after I filled out online form. They were very thorough in explaining the procedure for my specific issue and we're able to come the next day. They called ahead of time to let me know on the way. Bought a new washer and dryer and found that I needed the vent clean for the dryer. Called always a sweep chimney and dryer vent service and they came out the next day at the time they said they will be there and did a wonderful job cleaning out my vent and went on top of the roof and check that system and cleaned it. Also they are very nice and courteous people and they clean up after themselves. I would definitely refer them to anyone that need this service. read more

They did a great job inspecting our fireplace and cleaning it. They found it had in the past had a chimney fire. We had them fix and replace the damage and put in a new fire box. They did an excellent job. The guys were very knowledgeable and very good at what they do. They cleaned after being done. Showed up when they were supposed to. He cleaned a large pile of nasty lint from our dryer duct - I doubt it had ever been cleaned in the 40 years since this house was built.
