The only reason she left this time was because she wanted to be closer to her children, but honestly, I've had family members in other facilities, some with more advanced programs, and none compare to the Willows. From the moment you walk in, there's never any foul odors--it's always clean and fresh. But more than that, the people here truly care! They are genuinely concerned about the health and well-being of their residents, and their communication is outstanding. For anyone looking for a place to take a loved one, I can't recommend the Willows in Valparaiso, Indiana enough. You all should be the standard for how nursing homes should operate. Our father was not being given his PT until my sibling started coming in every day to over see the PT. We would come in 2 hours after breakfast and he was still in the filthy dining area slumped over in his wheel chair with an orange juice drenched t-shirt. We came in on a holiday to find our father's mouth bloody. No one knew a thing and the next day we spoke to the DON and asked to see an incident report. There was not one??? Convenient because they documented everything he did wrong. We tried to move him to a different facility after 2 days. They red flagged him so no one else would take him. After it became apparent to us that something serious was wrong, we called 911(by the way the DON said we could not do that). According to hospital records he was severely dehydrated and severely malnourished. He also suffered permanent kidney damage due to the dehydration. I pray for those other patients who were laying in the same bed, same spot, being neglected, No one should ever be treated this way! I wish I could give negative stars

I was appalled by her ignorant comments about her former employee's tattoos... Like why'd you hired her in the first place, if her tattoos were such an issue? Don't demean an excellent technician just because you can't match her expertise in the field so you attack her appearance!? If this owner ever snaps at you because her inadequacies have been revealed and she can't handle it, give it right back to her and walk out the front door. I had a horrible experience here. I was not treated properly. I therefore do not recommend Healthchek. She is a nasty person!

The facility is located in a shared space in downtown Streator. I usually park in the front in the street, but I believe there is additional parking behind the building. It is super clean in the business, and you just fill out your information and you're in and out. If you sign up for their newsletter they will send you monthly specials which is what prompted me to come back a second time. The specials are so good! Kristy was very careful during the blood draw and I felt like I was a valued customer. You will want to check their website before coming in (no appointments) because their hours are limited. Results are sent to you in a couple days, super fast in my opinion, and you can have them sent to your personal email if you wish. You also do not need to have a doctor's order to get a test, you can come in and tell them specifically which test(s) you want. Best value for labs in the area in my opinion.

I recently visited the Franciscan Emergency Department in Crown Point after falling off my scooter…read more I want to start by saying that the medical staff who cared for me were excellent. PA Shawn was kind, professional, and did a great job explaining everything and treating my injuries. Liz, the X-ray technician, was also very friendly and made the imaging process easy. The front desk staff were welcoming and helpful from the moment I arrived. The bathroom was also clean. However, I was disappointed with the cleanliness of some parts of the emergency department. I noticed noticeable blood stains on the mayo stand and on the floor in my treatment area, along with visible hair. There was also a bug flying around near the patient rooms. In the waiting area, several chairs had noticeable stains. I also noticed a Chick-fil-A cup in a trash can and full trash bags sitting in the emergency department for the entire time I was there. Seeing food containers and accumulated trash in patient care areas gave the impression that housekeeping could be improved. The care I received from the staff was great, and I'm thankful for everyone who helped me.

She was in the ER until the next day because they built the hospital with less patient rooms than the old St. Anthony's for reasons no one will understand. Anyhoo, they finally get her up to ICU, put her in a medically induced coma for almost 3 weeks!! I have to say the ICU nurses were amazing!! Every single one of them. The ICU drs....not so much. They continually tried to take her out of the coma and turned the venitlator off to see if she could breathe on her own and gave her maybe 2-3 seconds off of the ventilator and said, it's not working....give her a minute, eh? Then, turn it on, give her more propofol to get her back into the medically induced coma. Then! Her heart dr would breeze in every once in awhile, who is one of the hospitals drs that are allowed to visit patients, which is ridiculous that your dr isn't called when you're in the hospital, only their drs can come to "check on you", not knowing at all, your medical history.....but, she was this guys patient....so....I should add that she is diabetic. With that being said, her toes on her right foot were blue/purple. I asked about it and was told, "their not black yet". WHAT?!?!?!?!!? My other sister was up there with her and she asked her actual dr who made his rounds about that. He refused to even look at them or do anything about them. She'd have to follow up with Loyala (she had her did work for her left leg). Then, way too soon to be released, they released her to a shotty rehab in Dyer. An NP saw her toes and sent her to Munster Community ER. The cardiologist there immediately did angio-plasty on both legs. But! She will need to lose 2-3 toes because this place is a f***ing joke!! Oh! and they lied to her about which rehabe center would be covered by insurance, they told her Powers in Crown Point wouldn't cover. Community had no problems getting her in to Powers in CP. Such a joke of a place. It's like they want people to not come to the place or even worse......
