While Dulce Tradición has some larger dishes, I really enjoy visiting for their smaller sweet and savory pastries. Their beef and chicken empanadas are some of the best I have had. The outside is crisp and corn meal-y, while the inside if stuffed with shredded beef and juicy potato chunks. The inside is so flavorful. These empanadas are the ultimate comfort food. They have lots of pastry puffs as well, ranging from beef, guava, and Hawaiian. They also have excellent Brazillian cheese bread, and an excellent coffee selection. I will definitely be a regular here so I can sample each pastry Dulce Tradición has to offer. On top of this, the inside of the cafe is very cute and clean. The service is excellent and one time they even let me sample some of their home-made guava jam! This place is truly a gem and I highly recommend checking it out if you are in the area.

Was slightly disappointed they only had beef vegetable, but was I ever wrong in my disappointment. This soup was one of the absolute best I've ever tasted! The broth is very thick and hearty, filled with all the great soup vegetables, including chunks of corn on the cob, as well as beef and some sausage. The flavor was rich and lush and made me think of my grandmother's soup. I also wound up buying an Apple turnover and some type of flakey pastry with cherries. Absolute melt-in-your-mouth yumminess! I HIGHLY recommend this tiny, but mighty, little gem. Driving by on Rt 46 you might miss it because it's so small. Trust me when I tell you, the soup alone is worth the stop!

The coffee was too strong. Also they offered whole milk or almond milk. There was no half and half or other choices. It was delicious. The attention was fast and the food was served promptly.

We walk in, and the first thing I note is there's no English spoken here, which is honestly not unexpected in Dover. At least the menu is translated. In fairness, everyone else was ordering so I got rushed. While everyone else got arepas, I chose the Hawaiian patacon (plaintain) dish. Price for all dishes was around $15 + tax, which seems high for the size of the arepas but was about right for the patacon. The dish was delicious, the plaintains well fried to hold up the ample portions. As others around the table said, the fries here are nothing special and I agree, which is part of why I picked a dish that didn't include them. Everyone else was getting a drink so I was pressured into guanabana. I prefer tamarind normally, but fresh-mixed guanabana wasn't bad; I just wish I had a way to tell them not to put ice in mine. (At least we're talking 6 cubes and not 30.) Main problem: Very long wait for our food, at least a half hour from our order to when it appeared. Takeouts were getting prepared and sent out as we sat and waited, and our lunch break took over 90 minutes when all was said and done. On a work day. So you will want to call ahead here, not eat in. Not to mention that it's a fairly small interior - it can fit some tables, but our group of 6 took up at least half the capacity. In the end, to cut the wait short, my friendly coworker had to go up and pay for us instead of having the waitperson come by. She's clearly overworked, taking orders from front to back, bringing food from front to back, and managing the whole process. This isn't a bad place if you want to take out dinner, or a lunch that will have leftovers for dinner. But there is comparable food in Dover that's at least this good, portions at least this big, prices lower, waits shorter, and even with more room to sit. So relative to others in the town, I'm capping it at 3 stars.

For starters, the chicken is flavorful, fresh and always on point. The rice and beans as well, but french fries are always a miss - stale and floppy - but the chicharron makes up for it! The only downside here: if you don't speak Spanish, you're screwed with both placing the order and picking up primarily due to it being a family owned establishment in a heavily populated Latin/Hispanic community. I've tried calling in a handful of times and have been put on hold for a while or hung up on after a few tries. It's pretty tough to have a conversation with them primarily due to the loud background noise and distant tone picked up by their touch less headsets the employees wear. It can get a bit frustrating if you're not able to speak moderate Spanish, but the alternative is just order Uber Eats or DoorDash, honestly lol it's still so worth it though!

The birria tacos were excellent, juicy and flavorful. The only thing is that they were pretty salty, and I wish they came with some sort of side, like rice, beans, or veggies.
