It is too bad this company is so dishonest. We were helping friends with some building projects in…read moreSmithville and made a huge mistake purchasing from this company. Because we had a large delivery of nearly $2,000 worth of items, we paid extra for delivery. After they dropped everything off and took off we realized that they pulled and delivered multiple incorrect items. The items were correct on the receipt, but they simply brought the wrong stuff. Everyone makes mistakes and if they had come out and made the exchange with the corrected items it would have been fine, but they refused. We really tried. We talked with the manager, the driver, the guys we placed the order with, but they would not come back out to replace. They made us go back in there to make the exchanges. We had to borrow a truck and get everything incorrectly dropped off loaded into the truck and make the journey ourselves to make the exchange. No one was happy about this on our end. We lost time and we lost money when the workers had nothing to do because Smith Supply dropped off the wrong materials. This is really poor business and we all decided it was our last time purchasing from this company for any of our future projects or needs. We did not find them honest nor anyone we would want to buy from again. There are too many great companies to buy from and this was a really negative experience for all of us.

They always show their Texas charm and helpful ways to complete a project. Not one time in twenty years have I got any lip from any of the employees for not knowing what I was needing for a job I wasn't sure I could even do. The owner Mr. Smith taught them well and must be keeping them happy too since they seem very content in their work. It is the #1 place I go to for hen scratch, plumbing supplies, fencing and look forward every spring for vegetable plants to mull over. It's nice to have a keeper right here in town for hardware and supplies, a local gem. Thank you all for your service!

The flowers were delivered about 2-2.5 hours after I ordered them. They're beautiful. The customer service was stellar. My only issue is the size. I paid $99 for the arrangement and $15 for the delivery. My total was $124. I feel the arrangement was rather small and skimpy for $99 worth of flowers. I've purchased bigger arrangements at HEB for a little over half the cost of what I spent here. Online I also feel the arrangement was bigger and fuller. That's my only disappointment.

I had filled the gas tank before they picked it up and yet they charged me over $7 for gas I had not asked for. Some stuff I've paid $10-20 for an electric tool, and I'm still using it. It does the job. I've also purchased some that failed within a month. Hand tools as well, just have to assume that some of it won't be worth the $2 you paid for it. You learn what you can get away with & what you can't. Like a 3-piece step bit set for $12. Big box stores charge $50 for ONE. If you're only using it every once in a while they will last you years & years. Don't abuse your tools, use them like they're supposed to be- oil when you should oil, don't burn them up by overheating them, etc.

Thankfully the employee went and asked someone else after I explained what it was used for. The 2nd visit wasn't as lucky. When I walked in asked the employee (different person) if they had "3M eraser wheels" she immediately replied "all of our wheels are on isle 3." Knowing that response didn't make sense I reluctantly searched isle 3. It was nothing but wheel barrow type wheels. I searched the entire store without success because I felt at this point that the company clearly doesn't hire people with basic tool knowledge and doesn't bother to train them. This is really more of a "self serve" type store. Don't expect any help when you go in.
