Propane lacky. Panic attacky. Handled…read more I called during a freeze in what can only be described as a propane-induced psychological event & fully lost my ever-loving shit. In my head, the end of the world was actively happening, & I had already accepted my fate over my own misunderstanding when I didn't have the other propane tank filled. Dustin stayed calm, professional, & completely unbothered. Almost like he's familiar to this... um hey buddy, you ok Dustin? Propane is showing up the very next morning. Gas filled. Apocalypse cancelled. Mental health restored... pending. The only issue now is I'm not sure whether to call my actual therapist or Dustin at the propane company during my next panic attack. Choose them if you need to be gassed up & someone who won't acknowledge how unwell you sound (at least not out loud or to your face). They are competent under pressure. Even when the pressure is you. Highly recommend for propane shortages, emotional outages, & any panic attack that pairs well with hypothermia.

It is too bad this company is so dishonest. We were helping friends with some building projects in…read moreSmithville and made a huge mistake purchasing from this company. Because we had a large delivery of nearly $2,000 worth of items, we paid extra for delivery. After they dropped everything off and took off we realized that they pulled and delivered multiple incorrect items. The items were correct on the receipt, but they simply brought the wrong stuff. Everyone makes mistakes and if they had come out and made the exchange with the corrected items it would have been fine, but they refused. We really tried. We talked with the manager, the driver, the guys we placed the order with, but they would not come back out to replace. They made us go back in there to make the exchanges. We had to borrow a truck and get everything incorrectly dropped off loaded into the truck and make the journey ourselves to make the exchange. No one was happy about this on our end. We lost time and we lost money when the workers had nothing to do because Smith Supply dropped off the wrong materials. This is really poor business and we all decided it was our last time purchasing from this company for any of our future projects or needs. We did not find them honest nor anyone we would want to buy from again. There are too many great companies to buy from and this was a really negative experience for all of us.

Not one time in twenty years have I got any lip from any of the employees for not knowing what I was needing for a job I wasn't sure I could even do. The owner Mr. Smith taught them well and must be keeping them happy too since they seem very content in their work. It is the #1 place I go to for hen scratch, plumbing supplies, fencing and look forward every spring for vegetable plants to mull over. It's nice to have a keeper right here in town for hardware and supplies, a local gem. Thank you all for your service!

I started to rate 4 stars because they didn't have a couple of items we needed, but the service deserves 10 stars! We ordered quite a bit of lumber. In fact it was 6,500 pounds of lumber. The men in the yard did a great job of picking out nice pieces for us. If a piece on a pallet didn't look good, they pulled it out and replaced it with another that was better quality. That hasn't been the case with other locations where we had the wood loaded, got it home and found some nasty pierces hidden in the center. That won't be a problem here. Once our order was collected, the men loaded it on our trailer. They weren't happy with the way it was sitting on the trailer and were concerned about our safety trying to drive it back to the land. They completely unloaded the trailer and started all over again. They kept shifting things around until they felt comfortable with the way things were sitting. Once it was set up the way they liked it, they strapped it securely to the trailer to make sure it wouldn't shift around causing our trailer to sway as we were driving. They then gave my husband great advice on the safest way to drive the truck to keep from having a problem. We will definitely be back to this location.

This is a family business run by Craig Behn which has been in Smithville, TX for many years…read more His web site is http://www.pecoglassbending.com and you can email him there. He only accepts walk-in appointments between 10am and 5pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. If you want to pick up your replacement, then you will need to ask him to reserve you a specific appointment or he will just email you back that those are his appointment hours. Normally, you check his web site, and then email him measurements according to the directions on the site. He makes the glass and ships it out to you. We had a tricky antique hutch door. I didn't feel confident doing measurements myself and didn't want to install the new glass. So I opted to take the door frame to him (about an hour away from where I live) and have him prepare the glass and do the installation. The price was extremely reasonable. I went in with my door frame and introduced myself. He really wasn't very engaging, and kind of ignored me as he was cleaning up his bench from a previous job. He just took the door and started measuring it. I'm 73 years old and I'd wager Craig is at least my age, and maybe has a couple of years on me, so I started asking him questions about cutting the glass. Folks usually enjoy talking about their craft. I asked if he ordered the glass already bent, and that's where I discovered he had all kinds of molds and he buys sheets of glass and bends them to fit the mold, then cuts them down to fit the furniture. He said he's been trying to retire for years, but he just has too many people needing glass. The phone rang, and the caller asked "What are you up to" and he Said "I'm trying to retire." The reason he can't retire is he is one of only two people in the sate of Texas who provide glass bending service for individual furniture pieces. He said there are only a handful of people in the United States that still provide this service. We got to talking about how things were in the old days, like two old men will do, and at the end of the hour the door was good as new and I had enjoyed exchanging memories with him. I really think working alone all the time (he has no helper in the shop and generally ships out his product), he just got used to the many years of not talking. I hope he enjoyed my company as much as I enjoyed his. He's been running this business pretty much all his working life and is trying to sell it. But he said when prospective buyers come to look it over and he shows what is involved in bending the glass and fitting it, they decide it's too much work. I'm glad I found him before he retired because he did an excellent job and the china cabinet now looks as good as new.

He did and said he has what he needs and should have it in the 8 weeks.. This is a extremely long time, but decided to go with it. After nine weeks I called and he did not know who I was. He finally found the order and said I never sent a deposit, though he never asked for one . Then said after he gets a check, he should have it in a few MORE weeks!! He would not take credit cards, only person check. This company is very unprofessional and wasted 9 weeks of my time. Only accepting personal checks in 2013 suggests this guy has NO CLUE how to do business and he has terrible customer service. I told him I would have to go somewhere else and he simply did not care. So if you want someone to waste your time and you like crappy customer service, Craig is your guy. Peco glass is a terrible company.
