I was amazed at the intricacies of this business. If you want to build a computer, you can and more. This store has it all. I am no electronics person but their staff can talk to whatever level of electronics you need. I am telling you walking through their store is worth it. The good, was that it was clean and my dad found what he was looking for. The first young man that helped my dad, was nice. The store manager needs a little help with patience with older people. My dad is 73 years old and has his own way of doing things. And likes to read the package and understand what he's purchasing. He was a bit abrasive. read more

One of the last and true computer stores in town. I'm a fan. It's not like a radio shack that most has just phones these days. This store has the tools and cabling you need to get contracts done. I am a tech consultant and When I need to get a quote for running some network cat-6 cables this place takes care of my order. I haven't built a computer from scratch in a minute, but you can order all the parts you need here to build a custom pc. I can't say enough about Altex. I brought my Mac in to get a adapter for hdmi to mini display port. Rather than just selling me the adapter they asked what was going on with the computer. Altex doesn't work on Macs. Turns out their tech, Silby, had previously worked on Macs. He spent an hour with me trying to diagnose the problem. Turns out that the adapter wouldn't have helped. Although Silby spent an hour with me, they didn't charge me. These are great, knowledgeable people who want to help. read more

Took my all in one wireless desktop in after discovering it somehow became infected with some type of "ransomware." I first contacted Allied IP security since I contracted them to provide firewall protection 18 months ago. After their so called tech obtained control of my pc remotely, he informed me he could "disinfect" it for 900 dollars. Realizing it was a scam I took my computer to Altex and the tech was in immediately. 5 minutes later my PC was running perfectly as he located the problem, uninstalled or removed it, and said it was too easy to charge me anything at all. These people are extremely knowledgable, polite, and just pleasant to deal with. They have a customer for life. read more

My computer went down because of a electrical surge during a storm. I took it to Altex they diagnosed the problem as the power supply and replaced it within 30 minutes while I waited.I was very happy with their professional attitude and work. read more
