UNPROFESSIONAL place in need of serious revamping, not a school
APTS should not have the privilege to utilize the word school in their organizational name. As I read previous reviews, starting from 2010, this place has not changed. The high school behavior, gossiping, poor leadership (from the bottom to the top), misuse of special education funds, unprofessionalism and etc., still exist. Educational Specialist (ES the teachers supervisor), who are unaware of the latest educational research based strategies. The ES cannot assist the teacher because they have no clue. Furthermore, the teachers have more educational credentials than the ES, which causes a threat to the ES. The teachers make more money than the ES which poses another threat. Majority of the staff are friends, which means they are not aware of how to separate business from friendships, which creates a huge problem. You have a Team Leader and POD Manager, who have no clue on effective leadership. The staff mimics what they witness from their leaders. Some of the leaders are not positive role models, which promotes the staff not to respect them. When the staff does not like another staff member or teacher, they team up to get rid of that individual, which is a pattern at APTS. I have never in my life worked with a bunch of dishonest people. They lie for no reason at all. The staff does not have a mind of their own, from the bottom to the top. They are easily manipulated & nothing is confidential, big mouths down to HR. You have an ES who does not support her teachers at all. Does not even want to be bothered with the students nor their behaviors, However, fast to fire teachers that she is threatened by. Instead of instilling knowledge to her teachers, she did a disservice to all of her teachers. NO one learned one thing from this ES that can improve their skills as an educator. No professional development is offered to the teachers. This job is stressful due to the childish behaviors of the staff, malicious intent and sabotage. Low Standard facility with unauthentic people. Education Director; poor leader, fake, unfair, listens to gossip instead of conferencing with staff to get to the bottom of the issue, not a good decision maker, and no support. Staff sticks together to climb up the ladder by throwing individuals under the bus, very deceitful and malicious people. VP's easily manipulated who do not get along themselves, so how do they expect staff to conduct themselves in a professional manner. This place is unethical. Stay away, it is all about friends and family. They can care less about staff especially the Program Facilitators who make no money while the teachers are pulling in $70,000, in which the teachers are still underpaid for a 12 month school with unnecessary drama. This school will never succeed due to the unprofessionalism, unfairness, maliciousness, sneaky, conniving and hateful people. God does not like ugly, everything will come back to this organization, trust that! KARMA!!!!! read more
