It was my friends wedding and I needed my dress altered. My friend, Jennifer, was recommended Alteration Center by another friend, so in the interest of ease I came here too. When I first walked with Jennifer, who had an appointment to pick up her dress, the owner was in the middle of helping another customer and didn't even greet us. The other customer was getting her slacks pinned for alteration. She asked the owner to complete it a certain way she liked it done in the past and it quickly became a very uncomfortable confrontation between what the customer wanted and what the owner decided she would do. When we were finally greeted and told her why we were there her demeanor changed and she was cordial until the previous customer left. Then she proceeded to talk mad trash about her! To her new customer(s)! We decided to let it roll off our backs and my friend tried on her already altered dress, which did look fantastic. I put my dress on and told her what I wanted done, which included putting a slit in the side. When I went to pick up my dress the slit was not done, it was not taken in as much as shown, and the owner threw her staff under the bus for those issues. Yet, she still decided to charge me the full previously agreed upon price even though all the alterations were not done as agreed upon. Both encounters were so uncomfortable. read more

I don't think there are enough good words or high praise that I can give for Amy. She loves what she does and it shows. She is GREAT with alterations and an ARTIST. Her passion shows in her work that she takes a lot of pride in. She did a phenomenal job transforming my wedding dress from a dress that I liked to a dress that I LOVE. She had a vision and it delivered perfectly-- and on-time for my wedding in 3 short weeks! Aside from her fabulous work, she is honest, she has a pure heart, and has good energy. I saw some people complained about her having a cash-only policy, but who cares. There's an ATM 2 minutes away walking distance. So this place was recommended by Prevue store. I dropped it off late March a promise to return the dres I two weeks. The covid hit no return call, no answer at all. Not even a return call to let me know about the status of the dress. Or if the dress was going to be finished. I called other businesses during covid and they had the decency to answer. To cancel events and return products that we had to cancel due to covid. If she cut into it or not so I could return it due to prom being cancelled. Very rude attitude and it was $50.00 over the estimated price. Didn't let me try it on to see if it was fixed right even after charging me $150.00 for the alterations. It doesn't fit the straps were not adjusted right. Over priced over rated and rude it's a brave new world I think we all need to adapt to the chances. I had a gown that needed tailoring within the week and Lisa did not fail. She knows exactly what to do and she even gives you tips and tricks on how to properly manage/care for your clothes! She was super friendly and attentive to all my needs and concerns, so if I'm ever in the need to get anything else tailored, I'm 100% going to her first!! Her hours from my understanding are roughly 11-5 M-F, 12-4 (?) Sat, but it depends on how light/busy her workload is. She is closed on Sundays. Used Lisa for years. Recently she lost my husbands two pair of pants. Came in three times said they weren't done yet. Finally my husband went in and she admitted they were gone. Told us to go and buy new pants and she'd reimburse us, which was ethical. But after trying to find similar pants I did, I bought them asked for my refund and she ended up finding them. Cool, right? No, she made us wait a week to alter them, when we went to pick them up, she wanted to charged us 1/2 price!! Never going back!! All she does is complain lately. Time to retire. read more

This business doesn't even deserve 1star but I had to click on it to be able to write this review to WARN you DO NOT go here for anything that you care about as you will have to take it somewhere else to be fixed. Lisa does not own this business anymore, Amy owns this business now and she is AWFUL. She is so rude. Her alteration work is so bad. On my daughters final wedding dress fitting she had failed to finish something so she hand sewed it while we waited and it should never have been done by hand it was a botched job. I went to pay and she said cash only. At no time during the months that we had the dress there, or at any of the fittings did she EVER tell us it was cash only, then she tried to tell us it was on our dress ticket which we pulled out and it was not on the ticket either. We had to take the dress elsewhere to fix her horrible work and we are 3 weeks out from the wedding. Terrible. Avoid. Save yourself from being cheated and cut down. I took my wedding dress in to have 5 things done. 1) Take out the crinoline so the dress was lighter and less goofy 2) Have the train shortened 3) Have a bustle added 4) Have the brest area molded to fit me (I have a small chest) instead of having giant empty madonna boobs that the boning created. 5) Add appliques to the waist. Removing the crinoline should have been the first thing to have been done. Then she should have checked the train. She insisted she didn't need to. Even on the 3rd time I went in she said that I had never asked her about the crinoline (even though I asked her 3 times). I had her do it while I waited--then she told me she only took cash. She was very rude about it. So after standing around for a half an hour waiting, I had to run around looking for an ATM. I wanted to try the dress on again to check the length without the crinoline (clearly the dress was going to be longer!!!!) She told me I needed the length, made me feel stupid for asking to try it on, refusing to allow me to do so and almost chased me out. I also asked about adding a bustle so I could dance, explaining that our first dance required me to be super mobile. She told me I didn't need it. I tried the dress on when I got home and not to my surprise but to my horror the dress was way too long and I was tripping on it (keep in mind I PAID to have the train fit). Despite being $350 poorer and wanting her to fix it, her attitude was so awful I didn't want to deal with her attitude so I took it to another alterations lady (Sandra) to add a bustle. Sandra told me that Lisa did not do any alterations to the bust like we had discussed and I had paid for (I thought it looked the same!). Lisa told me that she made the cups smaller but couldn't take the boning out because it would "compromise the structure of the dress". Sandra laughed out loud. She ripped the boning out on the spot and the boob area immediately looked less like awaked madonna boobs and the dress was not compromised!!!! Sandra had to work wonders on the bustle because Lisa shortened my train unevenly. She agreed that the dress definitely needed the bustle. Lisa told me that the dress could not be made any smaller around my waist and that I would have to live with it. She blamed the sales girls at Prevue where I bought the dress (who had referred me to Lisa). Sandra again laughed out loud and said it could definitely be made smaller it would just require a little more work. So basically I paid $350 for some appliqués to be sewn on and an uneven shortened train and a lot of head ache. Lisa had a terrible attitude and was really rude on the phone and in person. Don't go here! I like to go to professionals who I can trust. And I tend to trust that professionals know better than I do. Can't believe this left me so cheated. Thank god I found someone last minute (three days to go!) who could make my dress fit me correctly. read more

I am so appalled by how terrible the customer service was. First time I came in she was very sweet and attentive, took my measurments and made sure I was happy with how it looked. When I came back to pick it up she hadnt told me she only takes cash, so she sent me all over rancho looking for an atm and it was at closing so nothing was open. So I called her and asked if I could pick it up in the morning and in thee most disgusted tone she said told me "sure I guess see you in the morning". I was so frustrated with how rude she had been the whole time I forgot to go back to grab my heels that I had tried the dress on with. I had left my dress hanging in the closet and my heels placed next to it. When I came in the morning she justed about screamed at me, then kicked her sandals at me and told me I left my heels there. Although completely frustrated I paid her left my wallet on the table open with a tip (that I no longer intended to give her) while I went out to the car to put my dress away. When I came back in the tip from my wallet was gone and she had gone to the back. I am so disappointed in this whole experience. My dress fits fine she didnt alter everything but I was to annoyed with her attitude to ask her to fix it. Will NEVER be back to her again. read more
