Love the selection of international candies, sodas and snacks but would love more if they also had more savory items. I skip the Funko pop and cards portion of the store but I do enjoy the board game collection and the photoshoot props! This time the sale section was abundant and had savory items like instant cup noodles and chips! Between the BF and me, we cleared that section out, hahaha! We finally signed up for their rewards but because Medina is so dang far from both of us, their expiration on the points you earn is only 1.5 months or something, which is quite ridiculous! Make the points never expire and encourage people to come in every once in a while to redeem! I did hear about an Independence location opening so I'll probably check that out!

For the most part everything is well organized with the exception of some of the random areas. They just have so much it takes awhile to look through. I think they'd do better putting less out so it doesn't become overwhelming for the customer. Lots of fun candy options though. They have a huge Asian area of candy and snacks. The store was clean and the few workers I saw were nice. Definitely with a visit if you are in the area.

The games are very well organized, and there's even a suggestions list on the wall. Not to leave out, the lights and art make for a fantasy cottage core immersive space. I love shrooms! But obvi, The main reason to come here is for the games. You want cat games? They got purrfect choices! Pandas? Uh-huh that have it! Racoons? You bandit believe it! Wanna watch your friends meeples get eaten by sharks? You can hear with Survior Island! Parks and Trails? Have no fear... they got it here! Criminal games? Allegedly they have them ;) They have so many, that it was overwhelming to choose. Prices are fair, with about a $5 fee/gamer, with set times of 3 hours max typically. I'm sure if it was empty and if they didn't have other resi's or a waitlist, you could hang longer, especially if you have an extra $5 or something... Weekends, espeically in the winter, will be more crowded so be aware if others make you nervous. I personally get nervous about gaming when others are around. My brain shuts down and I loose critical thinking skills necessary to win. And winning is life. Onward, the food was meh. I ordered the cheese flatbread 'Za, hoping to channel my inner teenage mutant ninja turtle and smash my fellow turtle completion. But the pizza was bland. It was like pita with cheese on. I'd say, go somewhere else and get food, and go here for the games and dranks. The latte was delicious, and I actually ordered a second. It was just the extra sweetness & energy boost I needed to crush my competition. You already know I like to check out the restrooms. They had two gender neutral large accessible restrooms, from what I discovered on my exploration, and they were clean, with adequate lighting and finishes. Parking is scattered across the street, but there's the large westside market lot available. With Mitchell's Icecream (yes the train was working at this one last time I went), Ohio City Burrito, and a plethora of options, you can't go wrong! Now, back to the games - I will say, some of the games are very advanced and will require extensive set up and knowledge on how to play. If there's game you're interested in playing, and you have little knowledge, I recommend looking up the rules first and checking out tutorial vids. Otherwise, you'll waste a lot of time figuring out the logistics. If you wanna go from bored to board games, I recommend this place!

Trip Review : Nine Realms Comics & Games Nine Realms Comics and Gaming in Fairlawn/ Montrose area…read moreright at the corner of Cleveland Massillon Rd and Medina Rd ( RT 18). I stopped and saw Brian for the first time. Great location in West Akron. West Akron has needed a friendly-neighborhood comic and gale shop for a long time. Everything is well-displayed and well lit. New comics weekly, back issues and supplies. Back issues plus card games, table top and other games. I saw a plethora of graphic novels plus some premium wall books. They have a large gaming area and posted gaming nights. Check out the photos for statues and pops. Over all a great looking , nicely organized shop. Stop in and support them! The problem occurs though when the people involved with local stores prove to be untrustworthy and uncommunicative. Todd ran a campaign on Kickstarter "Along a Burning River Volume 2 - Stories of Ohio", which was originally expected to delivery a graphic novel with art entirely drawn by Ohio Artists. This graphic novel was supposed to be delivered in August 2022. The backers have yet to recieve this graphic novel. I can be understanding of delays, but the lack of communication is unproffessional and infuriating. The last update Todd posted on Kickstarter was posted June 5, 2023, more than 20 months ago. That post indicated that the content was basically done, and we were waiting on design and layout. The last post prior to that was November of 2022, in which he apologized for the "long overdue update." You might be asking yourself, why I'm writing a negative review for a brick and mortar store, when someone associated with the store was running a theoretically independent kickstarter to create a graphic novel. However, its clearly a related product, and Todds Kickstarter profile linked to multiple different social media accounts, and at least one of them mentions Nine Realms Comics and Gaming. Part of the reason I had for trusting Todd, was because of his association with Nine Realms. This review feels like it might be unfair to the rest of the staff, as most of the people I know who work for or own a comic book store are wonderful, and interesting people. However, my experience with this one individual is so negative that I felt like I had to say something. If you do business here, I hope your experience is better than mine.

While it's a great replacement for my usual board game store, it's also an improvement because they have a lot more than just board games. They have a good board game collection, but they also have lots of cool sci-fi and fantasy paraphernalia. I've been able to pick up some cool Frazetta art that I've been having a hard time finding, and it's nice having easy access to all the Dungeons and Dragon books without having to order them online.
