Located on State Road, right across from Rex's Erection, JC's is a staple in the local comic and anime scene and truly a cornerstone of the community. With more than three decades in the business, John has his shop dialed in perfectly. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by a great selection of action figures and collectible card games like Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon. Past that, there are shelves of graphic novels, an impressive showcase of statues, and lining the walls is a treasure trove of vintage toys--from Star Wars to G.I. Joe to Transformers. Behind the counter, you'll find even more gems, like rare statues (I'm a big fan of the Killing Joke Joker piece) and vintage collectibles. JC also carries a massive selection of back issues and, of course, all the latest comic book releases every Wednesday. His wall books are always rotating--because, naturally, hot comics tend to move fast. What really sets JC's apart is his unbeatable selection of anime and manga hobby items--the largest storefront collection in the area by far. In the past 6 yrs I've lived in the area, I have seen a fast decline in this store and will probably never return after my recent visit. In fact, I fail to see how their doors are still open as the location looked as if they were going out of business. Their prices have always been way too high, & the customer service is lacking in basic mannerism. Yet the most annoying part about my visit is the barren shelves. Almost every single ail was completely empty! If you're looking for fairy/dollhouse supplies- forget it, they had all of 5 related items. Need paper craft supplies for quilling, stamping or embossing; you wont find it here. Seasonal craft projects or decor... down to 2 sections of 1 shelf at best. I honestly did ask the cashier if the store was closing, she said " No, it's a restocking day" but it was hard to tell from the looks of things. The main level has been redone as a coffee shop with ample seating areas, and it was full of customers on a Thursday afternoon working on laptops and meeting with friends. My green tea latte was delicious. The lower level is still a gallery space with a bold mix of artwork for sale. The high-quality Pendleton blankets have moved upstairs along with a vintage clothing room. They have a resident photographer and multiple event spaces available. Why run one small business when you put multiple offerings into one historic building?? I look forward to drinking a beer and listening to live music in the back when the weather warms up.

Love the candles, the interesting scent oils and specially curated books they sell. Prices were rather high though and it's kind of a hodgepodge of things. There is an attached music venue and bar counter where you can buy hard and soft drinks. Bought a bottle of water and soda for $9! Soooo yeah...crazy prices for bottled drinks! The downstairs is an art gallery with local artists' work that you can buy and jewelry and stationery items! I think the shop is also attached on the side to a coffee shop so there are a few armchairs to sit, more books in that room and the only bathroom I noticed. I was really disappointed by what I saw in this store. There were dolls that were essentially the…read moresame product, except one set depicted white dolls and another depicted black dolls -- and the white dolls were priced higher. Even if this was unintentional or due to inventory or pricing inconsistencies, it looks really bad. Pricing differences tied to race, especially in children's toys, shouldn't happen at all. It feels careless and insensitive, and it made me uncomfortable as a customer. Hobby Lobby already has a reputation for being out of touch at times, and this just adds to that perception. At the very least, pricing should be consistent and clearly explained so situations like this don't happen. I hope the company takes a closer look at how products are priced and displayed, because this kind of thing shouldn't be brushed off as "just a mistake."
