Previously, returns were fairly simple, bring in to local Ultra or Kohl's and receive credit, with no fees charged. Now, I am advised even if I return in person to my local Kohl's, I will be charged $8.95 for freight! This is a terrible way to treat customers! Why shop there, when other vendors do not impose this added cost? After years of buying, I am finished. Product quality has deteriorated, and now it seems they disregard the needs of customers.

One employee spoke to the lady who came in behind me and immediately told her about their current sales and other items. I looked around and decided to try on a couple of items. The employee frequently checked with the other customers in the store on how they were doing and if they needed any help, but not me. When I went to the dressing room another employee a young woman ignored me as if I was invisible. She didn't say you can go into any dressing room she just turned her back to me and pretended I was not there. I proceeded to the first dressing room. When I came out. The same woman was there and she didn't ask if the clothes worked out or if I needed any other sizes she just turned her back to me again and ignored me. So I just dropped the clothes on rack next to her and walked out of the store. Even though I was interested in purchasing one of the items I tried on, I decided I was not going to purchase at a store that treated me with such disrespect, disregard and clearly racism. They do not deserve my money. Staff is extremely unfriendly and lack of customer service. I will not be returning nor will I purchase items online. I will be sharing my experience with my friends & family and urge them NOT to shop here.

"I entered the store, walked to the only person behind the counter (Kam) who looked up, sighed, and said other side. I walked over, waited for Kam to finish what she was doing. Kam took my jeans (in the bag they were shipped in) begin pushing buttons, inspected my receipt, and asked "do you have the visa?". I told her I didn't want to return, I wanted to exchange. Kam looked flustered and begin looking back and forth, saying nothing. I asked "are exchanges allowed?" "Am I allowed to look around?", Kam begin questioning if I wanted to exchange them for the same style (loose) and inferred that additional money made be needed as if that would turn me from exchanging or additional shopping. I told her if needed, I can pay more. After this interaction everyone one else in the store was extremely helpful and nice, I walked out with jeans that work well for me and a AE hoodie. I am a middle age black man shopping in a upscale superb area (address below), and fear that Kam treated me differently because of that. Unfortunately prejudice is not a new to me but is still inexcusable. I have friends who would benefit from your clothes (price/fit) but situations like this make it hard " AEOs response... So we popped into this location for our free earrings and unsurprisingly ended up buying more. Their promo ploy works on us! However, really nice staff working here, very organized location, prices are very clear and items are super cute & well stocked. Plus this location has a huge parking lot so that's never an issue. I had recently purchased a pair of earrings at this location and had traveled back home with them. Once I opened the packaging, I noticed the bottom part of the earring had already broken off. I hadn't even tried on the earrings yet. I called the next day and spoke to someone on the phone who was very nice. She told me to come back into the store with the pair of earrings and they would get it taken care of. She said a receipt was not necessary if it had already been thrown away, which it had at this point. I brought in the earrings a week later and interacted with the self claimed "new manager", who was nothing but rude and unhelpful. She told me there was nothing she could do, not even an exchange for a new pair of earrings without the original receipt. The earrings were still in the original packaging and I could see the same pair at the store hanging up. I've never been treated so poorly by a store manager. Overall, they forever lost my business and I wouldn't recommend shopping at this location.

I was happy to hear there is one opening in South Loop soon since I'm a Chicagoan and can't trek out this far regularly. The shop has great selection- lots of options in lots of colors, so if you like a certain style of shirt or dress, they have it in a few color options which is always nice. The store was bright and airy and really had a bunch of cool, not-too-expensive options. I came away with a BUNCH of shirts and a pair of Vince Camuto flats. They have a nice mix of pricier stuff (I tried on a really cute t-shirt that was $88!) and less expensive but still stylish things (most of the shirts I bought are in the $30-$40 range). The salespeople were so nice and super friendly. I really had a great time and hope to visit again soon!
