This last stay was her 2nd time. Both were for orthopedic issues/fracture and they were amazing at making her as comfortable as possible. Park Vista goes above and beyond regular care. You can tell the people there do their job with care and concern. Things run smooth and they always seem to be at least one step ahead as to what we needed. German, a caregiver was fantastic. The physical therapy dept. was so flexible and made sure things went smoothly. Bianca in Social Services was always on top with help and resources with amazing communication. That can't be said about many places these days. There are many others, I can't remember their names. But everyone is gentle and caring and I wouldn't want my mom anywhere else. Oh and the food was very good, fresh like home cooked food. The facility is immaculate and on top of everything.

The facility was consistently clean and had a calm, welcoming atmosphere. It stayed organized without ever feeling chaotic, and the staff were professional, approachable, and responsive. That consistency carried across the entire facility--from the nurses, CNAs, and medical providers to social services, activities, dietary, housekeeping, and front-office staff. We received timely reminders and updates, which helped me stay on top of his care and next steps. As his primary caregiver, knowing I could reach someone when I had a question made my life easier and gave me much-needed peace of mind. Most importantly, my dad formed a genuine connection and friendship with the people caring for him. That certainly made his four-month stay feel much more personal and comfortable. PT and OT were especially important to his recovery. They were patient and encouraging while helping him rebuild his strength, mobility, confidence, and everyday abilities. They challenged him appropriately while adjusting to how he was feeling each day. After four months, his transition home was handled smoothly. Once they got me there they put me in a diaper! After putting up with this for several days I threatened to require transfer to another care center. Then they promised to get a commode for me for my bedside. They kept promising and promising, and never did it for the 6+ weeks I was there! In addition, the first space I was assigned had a TV that would only turn off if you unplugged it. Also, their TV channels did not include KTLA, a major local channel. Hygiene was also an issue. The curtain between me and my neighbor had smear of snot or other bodily fluids on it. It took more than a week for them to change it. Later on I had a chest infection and I got some fluid on the new curtain. When I told the cleaning crew, all they did was rehang the same curtain with the side toward my neighbor (who was there for cancer treatment)! There was also a security issue. One male resident, who apparently had some form of dementia, kept wandering the halls and entering my space, claiming he was visiting a friend (no males were in my unit, and the other resident also did not want him in our unit). I told the staff and they cautioned him ("you don't want to go back to the hospital (mental?), do you?"), but he continued to poke his head into my unit. I observed them lying to residents. They took away my neighbor's wheelchair because they didn't want her wandering unaccompanied in the halls, but told her they didn't know what happened to it. They promised physical therapy four times a week but I never received more than 10 to 15 minutes two or three times a week, and when I asked for more they said staff were unavailable.

His diligent tracking of the additional days required for her stay ensured she could safely transfer from her bed to a wheelchair with the assistance of only one CNA. When our mother arrived a month ago, she was unable to stand or walk, and her progress has been remarkable. We were also very impressed by the medical care meeting provided for our family. It was well-organized, with up-to-date lab work and clear documentation that allowed us to easily understand her medical progress. Additionally, social workers Elvie and Ana, along with Bianca, Alejandra, and Renee from administration, were outstanding resources. Exceptional Care and Compassion at St. Catherine's…read more My husband spent a little over two months at St. Catherine's following a knee replacement surgery, and we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to the incredible rehabilitation team, nursing staff, CNAs, and management who made such a difference in his recovery. Before his stay, I had heard many horror stories about skilled nursing facilities, but my experience at St. Catherine's showed us that there are truly exceptional people who go above and beyond to provide compassionate, quality care. The staff demonstrated not only outstanding medical knowledge but also genuine kindness, patience, and wonderful bedside manner. A special thank-you to my physical therapists, Matt and Roman. I arrived in a wheelchair and, with their help and encouragement, was able to walk safely again. Matt deserves special recognition. If I could give him a grade, it would be an A+ with honors! The lack of care he received there was unacceptable and honestly was neglect. Needless to say, I reported them to the State. This facility was recommended by a Doctor who oversaw my uncle's care at Orange County Global Hospital. I was very hesitant because of the 1st SNF, however, after my first visit at OHWC, I had hope. My uncle left the 1st facility needing an oxygen tank and barely able to walk, in a matter of weeks, my uncle was walking on his own with little assistance and was a completely different person. I honestly thought he was never coming home again. Dr. V oversaw my uncle's care and made an effort to communicate with me 2-3x each week with updates on my uncle. He was amazing at what he did, helped my uncle with his complicated diabetes and found a combination of meds that worked to help stabilize his sugar levels. He always checked in with my uncle despite the language barrier and my uncle became fond of him. He is very genuine and the you get a sense of how much he cares about his patients which you don't see to often nowadays with the workload. I've had to interact with my doctors and nurses over the last 5 months and Dr. V has been the doctor that stood out the most. I couldn't have asked for a better doctor to have oversee my uncle's care. Thank you Dr. V. I hope that there are more doctors like you. My family member vocalized numerous times to Sharon & other staff discomfort around the physical therapy exercises as well as her inability to execute the exercise requested of her successfully. Their documentation of physical progress was exaggerated & it felt incredibly rushed & insensitive. For that reason, I'm extremely disappointed by the level of service & I would not recommend anyone else to bring their family here. Please do your research & advocate for your friends or family if they do stay at this facility.

I also want to give a review for PA Carol Kwak she has amazing bedside manner she does grade it her job. This was one of the most disappointing experiences I've ever had at an urgent care…read more I had been dealing with shingles for a little over six days and had been prescribed Valtrex beforehand. I woke up from a fever nap with significant ear pain, redness, and small lumps around my ear, which was concerning to me because I was worried the infection may have involved my ear. That was the primary reason I decided to visit urgent care. The nurse was professional and completed the usual intake, including taking my blood pressure and asking basic questions. Unfortunately, my experience with the physician was very different. When the doctor came in, he asked why I was there. I explained that I had shingles and that my main concern was the new ear pain and soreness. He asked me to lift my shirt to look at the rash and simply responded, "Yup, good ole shingles." He did not ask when my symptoms had started, how they had progressed, or many of the other questions I would have expected during an evaluation. When I specifically brought up my ear pain, his response was simply, "Unrelated." I was then given a packet of recommendations and a prescription for the generic version of the medication I was already taking. The doctor did not take the time to explain the recommendations or discuss why prescribing essentially the same medication was necessary. I also explained that I had been bedridden for approximately four days because of my symptoms, but I did not feel that this was meaningfully addressed. I asked for a doctor's note for the days of work I had missed. The doctor said he could provide one, but only beginning on the date of my visit. I understood that limitation. I then asked for his medical opinion regarding when it would be appropriate for me to return to work. His response was essentially, "You tell me when you want to go back." That was extremely frustrating. As the medical professional evaluating me, I was looking to him for guidance about when it would be medically appropriate and safe for me to return to work. I paid $165 out of pocket for this visit. I left feeling like I had received very little information or guidance for the money I had spent, and I was still concerned about the ear pain that had prompted me to seek care in the first place. What made the situation even more frustrating was that the written information I was given specifically stated to seek medical attention right away if experiencing ear pain or ringing in the ear. This directly conflicted with what I had been told during the appointment--that my ear pain was "unrelated." I understand that urgent care visits can be brief and that physicians are busy. However, I expected at minimum to have my primary concerns properly evaluated, to have my questions answered, and to receive some guidance regarding what symptoms I should monitor and when I should seek additional care. I ultimately left the clinic more concerned than when I arrived and am now considering going to another urgent care to have my ear properly evaluated. Since I am paying out of pocket, having to pay for another visit is especially frustrating. The icing on the cake was I had to go to the Ralph's located in the same plaza since I've been bedridden. seeing the doctor walk into the same Ralph's a minute after me reassured he seemed to rush me out just so he could take a lunch. I can only speak to my own experience, and perhaps other providers at this location offer a different level of care. However, based on my experience with this particular visit, I was extremely disappointed and would not return to this provider.
