My shoulder had deteriorated to the point where a reverse total shoulder replacement was the only viable option. Needless to say, facing a major surgery like that was scary. But the results have been nothing short of amazing. I'm now pain-free and have regained strength I haven't had in 30 years! From start to finish, Dr. Sweet and his team explained every step of the process, answered my questions, and made sure I understood my options. I always felt informed and confident in the care I was receiving. A special thank-you to Dr. Sweet, his Nurse Practitioner Michelle, and Office Assistant Anita. Each of them played an important role in making this experience such a positive one. Their professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail made all the difference. The only Con; it's a very busy office, with appointments booked up quite a ways out. Small price to pay for excellence. I can't recommend Dr. Sweet and Ocean Ortho highly enough. If you're looking for an outstanding orthopedic surgeon backed by an exceptional team, look no further!

Good doctors, been happy overall with Dr. Deitel. Did a good job on my surgery, but it can be…read moredifficult to get a hold of someone in his office in a short time frame as he works out of multiple offices throughout the week. I fault the understaffed and overworked medical infrastructure of this country. Additionally, 1 star for front office staff. They are rude, and act as though their actions are above reproach. Try smiling or even using the common niceties such as "please" and "thank you". You work in a professional setting, the least you can do is act like a sincere professional. Nearly everyone that comes in here is in pain, have some compassion and try to be aware of how you speak to people and how it could be interpreted.

I waited over an hour and a half to see the doctor, and when I was finally seen, my appointment took place in a casting room rather than what I would consider a normal exam room. After waiting that long, I expected a thorough appointment and some meaningful direction regarding my ongoing workers' compensation injury. Instead, I felt completely dismissed. Dr. Deitel repeatedly asked me what I wanted to do, even after I explained that I am not the medical professional and that I was there because I wanted help getting better. I was looking to my physician to evaluate my condition, explain my options, and guide my treatment. I left feeling like there was very little interest in actually helping me or addressing my ongoing symptoms. The interaction felt unprofessional and dismissive, and I walked out without confidence that my injury was being appropriately managed. Dealing with an injury and the workers' compensation system is difficult enough. Waiting more than 90 minutes only to leave an appointment feeling like I was expected to figure out my own medical treatment was incredibly frustrating. After this experience, I have requested an immediate transfer of my care to another provider and will not be returning to Dr. Deitel.

Took my husband to this Dr for a hip replacement. I wasn't certain but his write up did state hip…read morereplacements. So we went fwd with this Dr. After a few days home the leg popped out of hip socket, it repeated that 3 times. The excruciating pain was very hard to see. Ambulance was called all 3 times. They would pop back in at the ER and send home. So went to see Dr. Gregory H. Tchejeyan, MD, in thousand oaks, he put in a new hip and stated that they put notches on the hip parts so you know exactly how to put in these parts for the hip. But they were misaligned so that is why they kept popping out. He said no more problem; he got that leg and did a 360° turn around. Fast forward my cousin years later but current within 3 years had his hip replaced by Dr Jeffers. This time he broke the femur putting in the hip portion. In stead of getting to go home after this, he went to rehabilitation for a month or longer. I don't think Dr Jeffers is good to do hip replacement surgery.

Then he explained to me exactly what the problem was. I have a cracked bone because of a loose prosthesis. And it needed to be replaced. Because l have Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis he could not do the surgery but highly recommended me to where l could have it done. He was very up front with me and l understand EXACTLY what he meant. Dr. Jeffers even recommended me to get my xray on a disc to help the process of my surgery go swifter. He was very thorough in all that he did. I highly recommend him.

Dr Calderone in the entire staff have done an excellent job. In fact, he was so good that when I had to have my left hip replaced I went back to him. We have had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Calderone's office in Camarillo…read more Dr. Calderone himself may be a perfectly capable orthopedic doctor, but unfortunately, the overall experience with his office has made us decide not to return. The biggest issue is the staff. Whenever we need paperwork, medical records, a referral, or really any type of request, we are made to feel as though we are bothering them. There seems to be very little urgency or concern, and it routinely takes days just to get a response. The office experience isn't much better. Every time we have had an appointment, we have waited at least an hour in a small, uncomfortable waiting room with the television blasting soap operas or other programming at a volume that makes an already unpleasant wait even worse. Even more surprising for an orthopedic practice, the restroom is not conveniently located inside the office. Patients have to go out the door and down an outdoor hallway to use it. Many of the people coming to an orthopedist are dealing with broken bones, serious injuries, pain, walkers, crutches, or limited mobility. You would expect an orthopedic office to be designed with those patients in mind. Our biggest concern, though, is simply the overall lack of care and compassion we have felt from the office staff. When people are dealing with injuries and pain, a little kindness, responsiveness, and understanding go a long way. Dr. Calderone may be a good doctor, but in our experience, he needs a more caring and responsive staff and an office environment that better accommodates orthopedic patients. Unfortunately, based on our experiences, we will not be returning and cannot recommend this office.
