He was late again (just a bit) but he doesn't drive a truck so I don't know what to make of the truck trouble excuse. Anyway, I showed him both floors of my house full of furniture: DR set, kitchen table and 8 chairs, huge sectional, loveseat, and 3 bedrooms worth of furniture. He says he'll haul it all away for $300 plus tax. That sounded okay for that much furniture. I subsequently decided to donate all of the first floor furniture to Habitat for Humanity; texted Andrew and asked for a re-quote since it was now only 3 beds and one small cabinet to haul away. After no response for 48 hours, I called his office and his assistant said she'll remind him to respond. I think I heard from him a day or so later. I texted him a couple photos. Price is still $300. I asked how the price can be the same when he has very few things to haul. No response. He has zero personality/customer service skills and should not be in sales. I've since booked another company that's super professional & a pleasure to deal with.

He then came back, when we were ready to move, and cleared out all of the unwanted furniture. I know that he has donated items from estate sales to local charities because I work for one of those charities! We have never, however, given him a receipt for the donation. He just comes and drops off items he knows our charity can use. That's very generous and appreciated!

College Hunks Hauling Junk & Moving - New Brunswick

Cody and Andres from Virginia based College Hunks were efficient, insanely hardworking, and…read moreconsiderate. They went out of their way to be as quiet as possible while packing as our baby girl was sleeping. They made sure that everything was placed exactly where we wanted it down to the very last box. When I hesitated to ask them to rearrange some heavy boxes/furniture, they reminded me that I was paying them, and they wanted to do the job to my satisfaction. Id hire these gentlemen again if I move.

Paul (owner) and College Hunks Hauling Junk were a horrible experience from start to finish…read more We booked this move two weeks in advance, so it was especially alarming when, the night before our scheduled move, Paul suddenly called me from his personal cellphone and said he had to come to our apartment that night for us to sign a quote, claiming he could not send it via email. This immediately felt odd and unnecessary. He came over late in the evening, which made the situation even more uncomfortable, and he gave off extremely creepy vibes. I do not recommend this company if you are a woman and would be alone with this man in your home. While there, he pushed me toward choosing the cheapest option for him, the one dollar per pound replacement coverage, which barely covers anything if items are damaged. I initially signed a different option, and he told me to cross it out and re sign where he told me to. This was a huge red flag. The next day, we had to sign the same contract again with the actual movers. I still do not understand why Paul needed to come over the night before, especially considering the move had been booked well in advance. It felt unnecessary and unsettling. After evaluating our apartment, Paul selected the truck size himself. He chose one that was too small and then blamed the issue on our street being too narrow, despite previously saying a truck would fit if neighbors moved their cars, which we did. Because of his poor planning, not all of our belongings fit, and we were forced to rent a U Haul on top of everything else. To make matters worse, the movers broke a glass door pane. When I raised the issue, Paul lied and claimed we asked for two hundred dollars off the bill, which is completely false. My only request was to speak with our landlord to coordinate replacement of the broken glass. Overall, this felt like a scheme rather than a professional moving service. Between the unnecessary late night visit, the pressure to sign specific paperwork, the poor planning, and the dishonesty afterward, this experience was stressful and uncomfortable. Buyer beware. P.S. He repeatedly bragged about being on a radio station once and mentioned his dad being a contractor at one point. It was uncomfortable.

Julia in the office/scheduling is friendly and helpful. Chris the owner and Mike his co-worker are phenomenal! I actually had to cancel last minute due to unforeseen circumstance and she was amazing in getting me rescheduled in a timely manner. Chris called me 1/2 hour prior to arrival and was on time. We walked through house as items were in different rooms and I wanted him to know what I had so he could access how he needed to load truck. My Dad passed away and I didn't have room/need for several items. They were sensitive to my situation and just made the downsizing easier for me. I had (2) large 70's dressers, a heavy wood dresser, bed frame, mattresses, recliner & TV console table, from the time they arrived, they were professional and methodical on getting to work and getting job done. I even had a box of leftover flooring that was under the bed being moved and they put it in a closet for me. I could not have asked for a better experience. The professionalism, care and fair pricing is just a few reasons to use them!! I have already booked them for taking things out of my own home and referred them to coworkers that may need assistance. Thank you!!
