I showed up at 7:30 AM on a Friday morning, and 2 cars were already in line ahead of me. So if you want to progress quickly once they open, get there early if it's a Friday! I have a feeling they are busier on that day. They opened promptly at 8AM and started taking customers. At my turn I told the employee helping me that I also had to do a vin verification and she said that was no problem. When I got to the employee would would be doing the test, I told him again that I needed a vin verification as well. (I had read the reviews and was worried they would miss doing it). He seemed like he hadn't known that I needed the vin so I'm glad I made sure. They ask you to leave your car and step aside to a long room with windows where you can see the inside of the shop. I waited about 10 minutes or less, and they told me I was all set! Went to the exit where my car was waiting and paid - $25 for the emissions, $25 for the vin verification, so $50 total. All in all, after opening I was there for about 20-25 minutes. Good experience, nice staff! Thanks guys!

We chatted a bit while he took down the info he needed for the form. As always, Aspen Pretty Eyes is with me, She is a Service Dog with ADA tags &c..... As I was exiting with her, I was told firmly: "All Dogs must go around and stay outside!" My response since I have been here many times and know the ADA laws: She is my service dog! Again with a HUFF: ALL DOGS MUST GO AROUND (HOT TAR ROAD WALKWAY) AND STAY OUT FRONT! Again I insist, we always waiting inside in the enclosure: I was told we could find another place!! RUDE Knowing they were very busy, a lane shut down causing overload and tension and my requiring the new emissions, we aquised finding a tree to shade my service dog, but, not forgetting the rudeness and how wonderful my past experiences have been. Often the place is not so hectic out on 44th street between Golden and Wheat Ridge, this was a very unfortunate experience and have never been treated in such a manner! Yet, the heat of the summer sun was very uncomfortable also the tone in which I was addressed. I was so frazzled, my cell for photos were left in the car!!

My beloved car flunked emissions!!! The OBD-II said it was the gas cap, after the "Check Engine"…read morelight appeared. So I went to Auto Zone. $25 for a new gas cap. Got one for $10 and went through emissions testing. FAIL! Aieeeee. I got a 30-day extension for temp tags, but went out of town for two weeks. Came back, and threw myself on the mercy of the DMV. A wonderful, kind, helpful lady named Karen told me that another extension wasn't possible, BUT I could get a FREE DIAGNOSTIC TEST from the State!!! And possibly a one-year waiver! Bite me, dealer who wanted $296. I made an appointment for Friday, which was the earliest available, and also the day my temp tags expired. Ack! I had to bring my failed emissions test paperwork. I was greeted by a very nice lady, checked in, and directed to a spacious waiting room with a TV, magazines, and comfy chairs! I had settled in and was happily reading a magazine, when Mark came in and sat down. He said that the problem, as stated on the paperwork, was the gas cap. I said, nah, it's not the cap. I replaced the cap. He patiently told me that they run a specific test on the cap, and mine failed the test. He then asked where I got it, and I said, "Amazon." He said, that explains it. Told me to go to a reputable auto parts store Mark was AMAZING. He's employed by the CO Dept of Health, and has been a mechanic for 40 years. He explained that Air Care Colorado is a subcontractor for the testing. He also explained that since the State services are free, they can't do repairs etc. He answered ALL my questions, of which there were many. I said that I would never have known about this service if it wasn't for the wonderful DMV agent. He said that they can't (or don't) advertise. They're located right next to the emissions testing place. I asked what would happen if I got a new cap and the car flunked again. He said, "Then you come back and see me." I got a new gas cap, went through the emissions testing again, and PASSED. Dealer had said it might be a valve thing and could cost $1500-5000 to fix. Smh. $30 for a gas cap, and done. I cannot overstate how GREAT this service, and these people (Mark and nice lady) are. If your "Check Engine" light comes on, and/or your car flunks emissions in Southeast metro Denver, this is the place to go. Call for an appointment. I don't think that they take walk-ins.

Piss poor management, no communication, the middle of the day of the middle of the week and its's been a 2 1/2 hour wait and we're still 15 cars back. They said one of the machines broke down, but they weren't detouring people away from that line, no other lines were moving, and there was no communication with those anxiously waiting in our cars. Even worse...there was no way out of the lines to exit...customers were getting pissed. It was SOOOOO EXHAUSTING! Total chaos. I tried speaking to management and they were total jerks. I even told them I was going to leave a bad yelp review and his response was "yea, I've heard that every day for months"...HUH? So what in the heck does that tell you people? The only good thing was the people that finally got us through the processs were kind and friendly...but prior to that was a complete nightmare...AND it was 3 1/2 HOURS LATER!!! If I could give them a negative 10 stars I would.
