    Fresh Cut Fries with Cheese

While the flavor of the beef is not exactly my favorite, compared to french dip, I can't deny the meat quality, fresh bread and thin slicing make this a special style of sandwich, so I appreciate what it is. The standouts were actually the rich and flavorful tamales with chili and the amazing fresh-cut fries drenched with their cheese sauce. So good!! Service was fast and friendly. The place was clean and well-maintained. Great experience!!

I tried I wanted to like it but the Italian beef us just not as good as others in Joliet. I think it was the giardiniera it was so disappointing The staff was excellent and super friendly, the parking can be tight since it does share parking with several other businesses. The inside was spacious very clean, and well decorated. This is why I am goving a 2 vs 1 was the service, speed, and inside. But the sandwich and the bowl is a hard pass.

I have always loved a good sammie & Al's Beef does not disappoint! I love my business trips & figuring out the local joints is a Fav! I'll be eating here again later this week, simple walk up counter service in a clean, modern building, simple & delicious! I had the big beef with hot giardiniera & requested "crispy fries" - I'm a happy man .

Frankly, the food hit. Fries are top tier, best fries I have had in IL. Chicago dog smacked. And the beef and gravy are so comforting in this cold weather. Taste like hugs and kisses. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and next time would try the "wet" as I feel like I didn't get to enjoy the bread too much. The real seller is the beef.

Great place for Italian beef, fast service and good prices. Good location next to convention center where we were attending a seminar.

We tried this location. ***ROLLS EYES*** We walk in and nobody else is dining there, maybe they just opened. They greeted us, but don't offer menus. We grab menus at the island and sit. We ordered 2 bacon burgers, 1, fry, 2 waters:$45. Yikes! The lady starts bagging the food up we tell her we're eating here and she gets puffy and puffy saying that you have 2 be seated at the tables and be served etc etc. HOW THE HELL WERE WE TO KNOW THAT? DID YOU ASK WERE WE DINING IN OR TAKEOUT? DID YOU ENGAGE US TO LET US KNOW??? NO! So we still sat right there where the seats are at on the island and eat. I needed additional mustard she dryly hands me the squeeze bottle. I assumed she was pissed she wouldn't get a tip. NOT OUR FAULT. Other oatrons walk in and get pleasantries I noticed. Hmmmm.... So we clean up behind ourselves, to not inconvenience her further, LOL. When we go to dump the garbage she wanted us to use the rear garbage instead of what was closer in front. I ALMOST LOST IT ON HER! I walked out and left my guest. I WOULD NEVER RETURN! READING THE OTHER REVIEWS THIS CHICK HAS A NASTY ATTITUDE IN GENERAL AND I DONT SPEND MY MONEY IN PLACES LIKE THAT! There was some kind of backup issue in the past 12 hours and the back end of the place smelled like an outhouse. On the patio people brought in 2 great dane dogs that were the size of small horses and how is that normal for outside dining anywhere, and people were leaving. Who has to watch dogs shitting by the next table where people are eating? Where are the owners? The same managers walk around clueless. Dont worry, the health dept. will find you out for sure. We both enjoyed our meals. Hubby said his steak was seasoned really well, and he took half of my fish, which he also said was really good, and I agree. This is a great neighborhood staple, and we will definitely be back to try one of their burgers.

(Charges…read moreon my CC popped up as the name of their bank, First Midwest Bank, rather than the name of the food venue or their LLC) Also very strange.. there was a tip line with percentages. 15%, 20%, +. There was no option for cash or no tip. I would have liked to tip in cash rather than forced to choose a percentage. Their menu is basic: Hamburgers, cheeseburgers and bacon burgers. They offer basic fries and then two other styles with bleu cheese and other toppings. The menu does not explain what is included with each requiring a conversation with their staff. It's not the most elaborate of menus'. Most burgers range $13 - $15 dollars. If you've caught reviews of the amphitheater, you are already aware that their costs are high. Most food vendors offer food in this same price range. Some nights ago I was attending the Nathaniel Radcliffe / Kings of Leon show. It was getting dark and Kings were up next. Hitting the food vendors as musicians tested their instruments is the best time to avoid crowds. Cooking took a few minutes but we had our food in hand as the band took the stage. Burgers had a nice char smell to them. Fluffy buns that were toasted with shredded lettuce and some kind of salad dressing or aioli. Additional condiments were kept on the side of the food vendor. Looks as if this condiment station is shared by all food vendors(?) Not sure about this but since others weren't refilling their condiments this vendor's station was getting janked! Ketchup was out and the area was dirtied from the massive usage with hardly anyone cleaning up the area and refilling. Some patrons commented that the condiments were refilled but not enough to feed the demand. They have to figure this out and work on it. Reading reviews of the amphitheater, patrons are not happy with management and how services are provided. A meal of some kind with a booze beverage can run approx $30 per person. How was the burger? Decent. We sat in the field on a blanket. It was already dark and they shutoff the floodlight overlooking our area. Eating in the dark, I didn't care much what I was shoveling. The shredded lettuce worked when paired with mustard and ketchup. It was like the burger was made to work with Heinz. But the quantity could have been more. The menu didn't say whether it was a 1/4 lb or 1/2. If having light, a side of some kind would satiate hunger. Bag of chips or plain fries. When it's hard to see, why buy fries with complicated or messy toppings. Whereas with daylight, go nuts!
