A cab pulled into our driveway at 2:30 AM and blared it's horn for a neighbor. I promptly called the cab co. and was bombarded with F-Bombs, an invitation to call the police, and then hung up on. Sadly this is Not the first time this has happened. The owner has said previously the cabs will not come into our driveway and won't honk in the neighborhood past 10. I just got cut off from one of these drivers who did an illegal pass & was traveling well over the speed limit. The driver didn't have enough room to get in front of my car, so I had to apply a lot of brakes just so he could. I would NEVER use this service. I tried calling the police but my phone cut out. I will be calling the office next. HORRIBLE. Stay safe people, and avoid them like the plague. read more

I'd give no stars if I could! I called at 2:30 for a ride to get to UMA for class at 4:00. They quoted me 20-25 mins.. After 45 mins I called to make sure they were still coming and they quoted me 5.. Half hour later I called a different company, who picked me up just as al's was arriving! Terrible service! If you can't get people to their destinations on time tell them! I was 20 mins late to class on test day! Ugh read more

I am normally a pedestrian and constantly walk the sidewalks to get from wherever to my last destination. I have almost been hit, ON A CROSSWALK 4 times by this company's drivers. I will stick with Kennebec Taxi, they respect those who ride with them, and those who walk the sidewalks and drive on the roads. On top of that, this company DOES NOT HAVE MOST OF THEIR VEHICLES INSPECTED OR TAGS UPDATED. We have road with them SEVERAL times only because Kennebec Taxi was on a very understandable hiatus. On top of that, THIS COMPANY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THAT INCIDENT, THE OWNER HAD PASSED AWAY IN A HOUSE FIRE. How horrible can you be? Worse taxi cab service and people I have ever heard of, they never come pick you up when they say they were there, even though you were waiting right in the parking lot of where you said you were, they just drive by and do NOT stop. They take forever in a day to get you, on top of that, the cars are FILTHY, FALLING APART AND NOT UP TO DATE TO CHECK FOR SAFETY ISSUES. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE. Their dispatcher could use some lessons in courtesy. When I called for a taxi, she has been brusque. This afternoon, I called for a taxi, and said that the driver needed to come in the driveway. She said they would if the driveway is free of ice and snow. I said the end of the driveway was covered in ice, but that in other rides in other cars, no one had problems getting stuck or spinning tires on the ice. Thinking I was referring to another taxi company, she said, "Call that company." And then she hung up on me. Literally. The other two times I have previously called this cab company, I got a taxi, but the dispatcher had absolutely no warmth in her voice and was brusque to the point of being rude. Maybe she owns the company and chooses to be that way, but my 3 calls to the company have not been pleasant ones, and today "took the cake." read more

The taxi drivers I had were very friendly and courteous! The fare prices are very reasonable! They are very cautious drivers!

Called for a taxi. I was told it would be 10 minutes. Took 30 minutes to arrive. There are other opinions.

The first time I used Al's was to go shopping, everything went well other than the 45 minute wait time. The second time I needed to go to a doctors appointment so I called two hours ahead of time to make sure I made it to my appointment with time to spare. I was told on the phone that someone would pick me up in 30 minutes, an hour and a half later someone finally showed up. After multiple stops to pick up other passengers I ended up late for my appointment, and the doctors office was only 10 minutes away from my apartment. The third and LAST time I called them was after grocery shopping. After asking two very simple questions (does it cost extra for two people going to the same destination, and will there be enough space in the cab to accommodate my cart full of groceries) the dispatcher hung up on me. In disbelief that she could have hung up on me, I called back to ask if someone was coming. She in a very rude voice told me no, she wasn't going to send anyone, and hung up on me again. I couldn't believe it. I don't care how bad of a day she may have been having. There was no excuse for her behavior or for leaving someone stranded at a grocery store! Never again will I use this taxi, EVER! read more
