Worst rental company. Rented a house and plumbing was messed up. The heat only worked half the time. Would wake up in morning to it being below 40 degrees. They had brush and trash pile in backyard and tried to fine us like 500 to mow and clean and was from previous. When asked about fixing stuff when moved in was told they don't fix little stuff would have to do self. Little stuff to them is plumbing. Paid rent all year and last month when lease was up, I could not pay rent online and emailed to see about and noone responded. They tried to evict me. About the worst company you could choose to rent with. We had been renting and had sewer gas filling our house every day for 10 months. We've had unlimited issues with their "repair men" that they send out. They also have zero empathy for their tenants. One of the property managers actually will gaslight you and tell you there isn't a problem when he has never even been on the property since the lease started. Total scam. Paid $50 to be pre-approved, I wasn't applying to a specific apartment. Sent over my pay stubs, ID, social security, bills, rent receipts, you name it, that same day within the hour. I heard nothing back for 5 days and when I reach out to them I get an automated reply. So I reach out again, and I'm told I was denied for any/all of the following reasons: insufficient income (How is having a monthly income 8x the rent amount insufficient?), no proof of this, no proof of that, (they basically said I didn't supply any of the documents I did supply), etc etc. I've never had an eviction and have had steady income for the last 20 years, there's literally no reason I would be denied. Disputing the charge, and will never do business with Alpine. When we make the move to purchase in a year, you can bet we still won't. read more

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. Charges $65 for "application" and then outright refuse to talk to whomever is applying unless, of course you're approved. I went ahead and applied because I am looking for a place within the next 30 days and they didn't respond to a single phone call. They have no email address and the number that texts you is purely meant for sending messages not receiving them. Therefore, there is no way to rectify an application they say needs better supporting documentation. They took $65 and then gave no communication for me to fix whatever was apparently wrong with my application or the documentation I presented them. I got a text for days in a row saying I needed to submit the same paperwork over and over but there was no way for me to talk to anybody to specify what needed to be fixed or what was wrong with any of the paperwork I submitted. This is by far the worst customer service experience I have ever had. I have been renting with them since July 2021 and it has been horrible the entire time. I had a power line disconnect from my house after a storm and was hanging 5 feet off of the ground. The power company said it was on the landlord to replace the part, and it took over two weeks for them to respond to my initial maintenance request. They only responded because I told them they would have to reimburse me for hiring someone to come fix it, and their response was that I was not allowed to do that but they would fix it the next day. I put in a maintenance request about the windows deteriorating and that there were huge holes in the windowsills. They sent out a guy who said the house really needed new windows and all he could do was fill the holes with silicon filler. At the end of August 2022 we had a huge rainstorm and one of my living room windows completely fell apart from water damage. I emailed them pictures and videos showing the water pouring in through the sides of my window and ac unit, above an electrical outlet. I had to remove the ac unit in the middle of the storm and that did not stop the window from leaking. Then almost two weeks later I sent them a follow-up that the window had molded inside and outside of the house. I still haven't heard back from them. Me and my dog have been sick a lot since the mold appeared. They also tried to say I had insufficient funds for rent when I paid online, when their third-party payment system said it was their fault the payment didn't go through. It was like trying to pull teeth to get the leasing agent to remove the late fee and reauthorize my online account. Any time I have contacted my leasing agent with a serious issue regarding the house, she is very unhelpful and just seems like she doesn't want to do anything beyond the bare minimum. When I wrote her saying I wanted out of my lease due to their negligence her response was, "You shouldn't have resigned the lease if you didn't want to live there." As if I knew water damage and mold would form and they would completley ignore my requests. I had no other choice but to resign with them. DO NOT RENT WITH THIS COMPANY! read more

Lived in 260 S Mariposa Ave. Management is shit. Building is dirty. Heater was broken maintenance came to fix it twice stopped working again contacted management no answer and after that spent 6 months with no heater. Bugs all over the place even tho u're charged for pest control each month and I also contacted the manager about it. Was charged for prorated rent even tho I left before my lease ends AND I explained that to the manager Steven Paek and sent like 5 emails to alpine properties about all the problems I experienced. had a horrible experience with trying to get in contact with this company. There website keeps telling me my Email is invalid, there phone number is automated and will not allow you to speak with anyone. I have questions I would like to ask and possibly see a specific house I found, but with there website not working properly and due to Covid 19 I am not sure what there hours of operation are at there offices. This company not only buys the house, they own the construction company that does a terrible job fixing up the house. Then they put renters that will trash the place (terrible property managment), they then sell over current market value. Alpine even owns the handyman services and they extremely over charge to fix and replace what they already supposedly upgraded. DO NOT INVEST WITH THEM!! The owner even told me tough luck when trying to get his staff to provide details we wanted. Now they are trying to run us out of their services by charging us $86.00 to relight the water heater. read more

They collected my fee, and received all the documentation of income and rental history as requested, but still do not return phone calls or emails. I never thought I would be leaving a review for a property management company but frankly this rental experience has been one of the most frustrating processes of my life. First off, to see any apartments you have to pay to apply and be approved which takes about two weeks. After being approved, you get text messages to set things up but expect multiple days between responses. We finally got to tour the apartment and the person giving us the tour could answer no questions about the property or utilities. We loved the location and the layout of the apartment so we decided to overlook their communication issues and pay a deposit on the apartment. They then told us we would receive no information about our lease, setting up utilities, or the moving process until the day we were set to move in. On move-in day, no one meets with you. They sent emails with the lease and an invoice for rent and a code to get in the apartment. It took over half the day to get the information we needed from them as well as me calling 5 phone numbers and emailing 4 people. Their office is only open for a few hours 3 days a week and whenever we have gone to ask for help with different problems the only response we receive is "someone will call you." No one does. They have no phone numbers that you can call with concerns. All phone numbers route you to send emails to people who tell you other people will reach out to you if they respond at all. Upon move-in, the apartment was filthy, half the light bulbs were burnt out, the kitchen sink did not work, and all the fire alarms were chirping because they were out of battery. In addition the walls were not patched or painted to cover huge blemishes left by the previous tenant. Most of the windows don't open as well. We sent maintenance requests and have gone to the office and have received no response from any maintenance team for over a week and a half at this point. In addition, they haven't even given us a physical key for our apartment and seem to have no idea how to get one. Do not rent from this place no matter how much you may like the price, location, or layout. I'm convinced no one actually works for this company. read more

My wife turned in our info so we could get approved we have very had any evictions or rent late or any of that kind of thing. We lived at one apartment for 5 year and our current on for 3. My wife forgot to add a document when applying and and sent an email explaining and asked if they was a way to turn it in no response. Then 3 days later we get denied not because we forgot the document but because they said we had multiple evictions and late on rent and a bunch of other untrue stuff just flat out fraudulent statements and still no way to contact them to try and fix it. read more

Hired them to rent out my house. Under their management, the tenant moved out and they didn't even know. They only discovered that fact once I called and asked why there was no rent payment. I'm a pretty Spartan individual, I don't really complain too much, but my experience with Alpine has been an absolute nightmare. Bug infestations, rodents, flooded basement, mold in every room of the house, floorboards in kitchen and basement stairs are rotting away and dangerous, gutters falling off of house, hot water heater broken for two weeks; I could go on for hours about the multitude of issues I've had with this property. Seriously, it feels like I'm camping or squatting in my own house. To make matters worse the maintenance staff are mostly incompetent and I've had to fix most problems myself with my own tools and spending my own money. WARNING - stay away from this place! We applied for an apartment and spent $70 on the application fee to be given "priority" for the specific apartment we were interested in, which was the last available one. The day before our scheduled walk through, they rented the apartment out to another person and didn't bother contacting us to let us know. The leasing agent we were working with NO-SHOWED our appointment this morning and hasn't returned our phone calls. We only found out the apartment had been rented to another person after checking the website and seeing the listing had changed to "no longer available." If this is how they treat prospective tenants I can't imagine how they treat actual tenants once they're roped into a lease. Upon contacting another leasing agent through their website, we were told "that's the risk you take when you pay the application fee." Now that's some great customer service! UPDATE: after posting this review we attempted to contact them through their Facebook page since they didn't return any of our calls. The absolute worst. I lived in a house with mold for two years. I paid for a mold inspection along with tests and had the results show that the house was infected with 5 different types of mold. When I showed them the results they claimed they took care of it by "wiping the Windows" from the mold when it was in the cracks of our walls and in the basement. We emailed them, called them, filled out so many web forms requesting they simply fix our refrigerator or our oven and they never showed. Eventually we had to break our lease because we couldn't handle living in 1215 n state Ave with the mold when they said they would come and get rid of it and kept not showing up. If I could give them no stars I would. To be honest 1 star is too generous. This company is horrible. They misled us by having another company setup the lease. Had I known up front that my lease would've been with Alpine, I would've kept looking. I've found only negative reviews regarding this company. The woman that showed us the house brought her sick daughter to all the showings. She would only accept cash for the application fee. Fast forward 2 months later and our refrigerator goes out and all our food spoils while we are at work. They send a guy out that fixes it, but it three more times. Now it just happened again. I waiting on him to come and fix it as I'm typing this review. Then we have an issue with the garage door opener. It falls on my wife's car as she is backing out the garage damaging the roof. I inspect the rails for the motor and it's rigged up with mix match bolts to hold it in place. Everyone in my neighborhood knows when I'm coming and going from the struggling sound it makes. I file multiple request to get it fix, but never here from anyone. I finally had to go buy some bolts to fix it myself. I find myself fixing most issues that arise, because it is very difficult to reach the unprofessional people in the office. There is no telling if they will bring a kid with them whenever they have to come fix something. I've been in this house about a year and a half and will be vacating as soon as I purchase my own house. By the way they made that a little difficult for me by the way of filing an eviction when I missed rent instead of contacting me. I paid them in full and have a zero balance, but the damage is done to my credit score. Word to the wise you will never hear from them until it is too late. When I tried to call the office to settle the balance I was hung up on multiple times when trying to gather the correct information by Caroline. Then she will pass you off to a lady named Heather that is supposed to be the boss. Both of them are very unprofessional and get defensive with you very quickly. ***Stay far away from the unprofessional company.*** I think daddy may have given them some money to start a business and they don't have a clue what they are doing. They don't even have an eCommerce site for you to pay rent. You must mail it in payments or track downtown to their office which moves frequently. We moved into our home a year ago and have since had to contact the state attorney general, the bbb, and numerous attorneys just to get simple things done. We didn't even have smoke detectors installed in our house (which it's illegal in Indiana to rent a home with no smoke detectors). I had to file suit in court before someone finally came out and installed them. The staff has hung up on me, cussed at me, etc. numerous times, and I'm a nice guy and business owner.
