My wife recommended Alpine Physical Therapy to me after getting help for her EDS, as it was one of the only places where she felt like she got results. I was having trouble with my breathing but I was concerned about if it was even worth my time to come. I didn't have an official referral, and what even could the problem be? I felt like I just wasn't good at breathing, which felt more like an inconvenient personal failing than a medical issue. Since my first appointment working with Eli, I can confidently say that I was wrong to ever be concerned. He was gentle, patient, knowledgeable and validating. Within one session he had figured out several factors that were contributing to my issue and gave me actionable exercises and feedback. I have continued to see him and I cannot overstate how much help it has been to my everyday life. Turns out, breathing naturally is pretty important to brain and body function in everyday life. I am still seeing Eli and I am encouraged not only with my progress but the future ahead. If you are uncertain about these guys all I can say is go in and see for yourself! Alpine PT, useless in all but charging money. My partner had a serious issue with her knee and Eli's response was to tell her how impossible it was for him to help her every single day she saw him (which was super demoralizing), then tell her to go see a surgeon (which we already were doing). He didn't suggest we see another PT, he didn't try anything new to see if he could make progress, he didn't even take any ownership and set reasonable achievable goals that he could help with. He just kept charging us sessions and saying "he needs instructions from the surgeon". By comparison, several surgeons told my partner that they couldn't handle her case and suggested people who could (without needing an appointment). This would have been an acceptable way to handle the situation. We eventually found an amazing PT who helped her make a ton of progress even before she has gone through surgery. That person actually took it upon themselves to help my partner get her range of motion up to 80+ degrees (from 50) and significantly improve muscle strength to help prepare for post surgery recovery. They frequently change strategies and used stuff like BFR to get past plateaus they reached. If you have a relatively simple case. Alpine might be fine. But if you have extensive scar tissue or post surgery complications, you might as well light your money on fire. It's about as useful as Eli. read more

My experience was fantastic. I saw Eva once a week for 11 total sessions, and certainly would have continued to attend, but just moved to San Francisco. I came to Alpine PT after dislocating my knee for the third time, and left pain-free with better squat mobility than I've ever had. Eva diagnosed why I was susceptible to knee dislocation and taught me the importance of engaging my hamstrings and obliques, diaphragmatic breathing, and postural alignment. I would recommend Alpine PT to anyone in the Seattle area. read more

Avoid at all costs! I got some PT from these guys in 2018. At the end of my last session they told me I didn't owe anything, so I assumed insurance had taken care of it. I never received any bill or phone call from them. Recently my wife and I started the process of buying a house and I found out through that process that Alpine sent my bill to a collection agency who then "parked" it. I.e. they don't collect it right away (or even tell you), they wait until you are trying to take out a loan and are therefore in a hurry to make it go away. When I called Alpine to resolve this they told me they aren't legally allowed to talk about it, which is completely untrue. In addition to that, the PT I received wasn't great. It didn't help my back problems. There are lots of great Physical Therapists around (e.g. MTI). Don't take a risk with these guys. You may miss out on buying your dream home. read more

Not kidding. Alpine is the Best Physical Therapy in Seattle. Sorry for the wall of text, but I hope it's worth the read. I followed my therapist Jeremiah over from Greenwood Physical Therapy and I'm glad I did. It's pretty difficult to find a competent sports therapist in seattle (as you probably know) much less one that will actually help you recover. I am recovering from back-to-back ACL reconstruction surgery and meniscus repair on both knees, as well as carpal tunnel surgeries in both hands. It has been a very tough 8 months going through all that, but (not kidding) Jeremiah saved me from a lot of physical and mental anguish. He takes the time to explain things in a way that makes sense, and is always ready to grab a prop to help explain things in more detail. He's a master conversationalist and I always look forward to the sessions (probably one of the few things I'm on time for) even though I probably talk his ear off too. An ACL surgery is supposed to take 6 months to recover from, but I had both surgeries scheduled just 3 months apart so I didn't really have that luxury. He meticulously planned ahead, finding my limits while emailing me things to do at home or at the gym. I was there 3 times a week at one point, getting ready for my second surgery. I had multiple complications with my knees as I was recovering, but he was able to figure out what was going wrong and help fix it. As my recovery progressed, he started ramping up with TONS of work with balance and overall stability and strength. He had me sweating and huffing and puffing, but I never felt like he was pushing me beyond my limits. This is important: He had excellent intuition as to where I COULD be, not where I should be based on "typical recovery periods". I had lofty goal of recovering before a trip to Thailand just 2 months after my second ACL and 5 months after my first one. It was a nerve-wracking thought to push too far and re-injure myself in a foreign country. I was glad he pushed me to recover fully like he did, because Thailand is FULL of temple steps, crappy sidewalks and general knee bending craziness. I ended up almost dumping my scooter in a rainstorm and jammed my leg, which took the brunt of the near accident. I honestly feel that (besides my idiot self riding a scooter in thailand) the therapy helped me avoid a more serious injury. Needless to say Alpine Physical Therapy is highly recommended. I've been to like 5 of them in the last few years. I tried (and failed) to find physical therapists in fremont, ballard, greenwood and even some podunk quack therapist in north seattle area that smelled like vodka. Jesus. Oh and they have cool t-shirts too. It always helps to bribe me with free stuff. read more

After breaking my ankle several years prior, I was dealing with chronic everyday ankle pain that was hindering me in exercising, going on long walks, travel, etc. I had struck out and made no progress with multiple physical therapists prior to coming here and working with Eli. Within a few weeks, I was already seeing improvements. Eli identified issues with my gait that other PTs hadn't noticed, and he used a taping technique to encourage me to walk properly. He also taught me exercises and explained them as thoroughly as I needed, even indulging my curiosity to see it explained with an anatomy diagram from a textbook. My ankle still isn't perfect, but it's improved to the point that it rarely gets in my way. I feel better equipped to manage it and understand why it's acting up. My other experiences with PT don't even compare. I made amazing progress here when I'd mostly given up. Would definitely recommend Alpine PT and especially Eli. read more

So far, so great. A coworker recommended this business after I had a not-so-routine shoulder surgery. They are located very close to where I Live so that was an added bonus. Eli has been the one working with me and has exercised great patience so far. Constantly tests what is working for me and tweaking his recommendations based on my feedback. They have an email reminder system, Allie at the front desk is always nice, and the facility has always been clean. I'll go there again when I have more of my body repaired. This was my neighborhood PT place and I had back pain from lifting my baby. The pain was strong enough to keep me from working out and performing an extra side job I have involving lifting. Eli was quick to diagnose a stretching program that worked to get me strong enough. With his assurance, I learned some new core strengthening techniques and appropriate level stretches that eased me back to health. I'm proud to say I can pick my baby up, workout and do that extra job with no pain. Staff is always warm and very flexible on scheduling. read more

These therapists are very dedicated but they have only "one hammer.'' They are all into "Postural Restoration Therapy" a type of therapy promoted by Ron Hruska and his institute. It is generally not taught in University PT programs and PTs need to pay $1500 to get certified. They claim it is evidenced based but a search on PubMed resulted in one article, a case study with Hruska as second author. The Website had a list of "peer reviewed" journals with no dates and occasionally no journal. Many Articles were theoretical not actual research. A number of the articles were about enhancing sports performance. read more

I began working with Jeremiah 2 years ago on chronic neck pain which had plagued me for years. I had surgery in 2007 and despite endless PT, medication, acupuncture ect I had ongoing pain which was terribly frustrating. I am a physician and a colleague recommended Alpine and cautioned that their approach was unique and almost certainly different from anything I had tried before. That proved to be true. It was also true that for the first time in over 10 years I had a dramatic improvement in my pain. It was a truly remarkable experience. The approach is simple and seemed a little voodoo at first. But Jeremiah explained the rationale for our efforts in a way that demonstrated his obvious knowledge and experience in anatomy and physiology. And it worked! I returned in September for a new problem which has already largely resolved. I worked with Eva, a physical therapist at Alpine, for a year to treat piriformis syndrome. When I came to Eva, I was in terrible pain and unable to do day-to-day tasks or even sleep comfortably because my piriformis muscle was pinching the main nerve in my left leg. The piriformis syndrome was just a symptom of chronic issues I'd been having. As a competitive athlete for 20+ years, I assumed I'd just done permanent damage to my knees, back, and hips from heavy use. I've been in and out of traditional physical therapy for years, where the symptoms would be treated but not the underlying issues. Eva treated the underlying causes of my piriformis and other issues; I feel better now than I've felt in years. I'm pain free and back to doing the kind of intensive exercise I did in my teens. Eva's changed my perspective on what I thought I was physically capable of without hurting my body. I feel confident that I can maintain the improvements Eva and I made together. I left Eva's care knowing how to troubleshoot tightness before it becomes an issue and having implemented life style changes like getting computer glasses and ergonomic shoes to help support ongoing health. I'm looking forward to my most active year in 2023 thanks to Alpine and Eva. I've moved away from Seattle now, but would go back to Eva in a heartbeat if I were in town. read more

I worked with Eli to reduce chronic low back pain. After the initial eval he explained to me in a very understandable way why I was having pain, what we can do to fix it, and how to prevent recurrences. Leading an active outdoor lifestyle I have seen a few different physical therapists due to injuries and when I herniated a disc in my lower back I was referred to Eli Zygmuntowicz. He worked with me for months as I tried to recover despite a couple setbacks due to other circumstances. Eli tailored my treatment based on my progress and my pain tolerance, scaling it back when I needed it and pushing me towards recovery when he knew I was ready for it. There were days when I felt quite discouraged from my injury, but Eli's attitude cheered me up and kept me working towards my goals. Although I have completed my PT and have been pain free since, I continue to do many of the exercises and routines that Eli taught me. My core feels stronger than it was prior to my injury and I am very happy with my results. Although I hope that I don't have a reason to return to PT, if I do, Eli @ Alpine will be my first choice. Aside from being a great physical therapist, Eli truly cares about his patients. I missed a few appointments due to an illness and he reached out to make sure I was okay. Plus, it was fun to listen to all of his travel and hiking adventures during my appointments. Fantastic professional service! I saw PT Jeremiah after an car accident. My knees were sore and painful, and I was frustrated about not being able to get back to running. He gave great advice, giving me exercises and stretches to do both in clinic as well as at home. Within two or three sessions (including the work I did at home), I was able to manage the pain to a point that I was able to keep up with my busy work and family schedule. Within only a few more sessions, I was back to a fast walk/slow run. Thank goodness! Jeremiah was kind, professional and efficient, but just as importantly, he always took the time to patiently answer ALL of my questions and address any concerns. I can't recommend him enough if you have physical therapy needs. Unfortunately, I moved back to the Portland area two weeks ago so I won't get an excuse to go back soon, but if you think you might need PT, go check out Alpine PT. They'll fix you up. read more
