My…read moreexperience: I was told Mark wanted us to complete an application for a bridge loan my retired mother needed in order to secure her dream home. I was planning on acting as a coapplicant, I was told to complete an application on a Saturday, and that this man would somehow be able to help. I knew he couldn't because I had already spoken with a bridge loan specialist. Mark could have reached out to me to confirm what our needs were, what we were trying to accomplish. He would have known from a phone call that he did not need me to complete an application. He never attempted to communicate, never asked any questions about our goals--all he asked me to do was complete an online application. Which I did. My first communication from Mark was an email he sent saying I was must have been having trouble with the online app, because apparently he couldn't find it. I had completed it. Never the less, he sent a paper copy and instructed me to complete that and fax it back to him. He figured out that I had completed the online application, and apparently submitted it and ran my credit--which was not only moot, it was as damaging. So to review: Mark never attempted to communicate with me; He had no clue what I wanted or needed, and didn't seem concerned; He sent applications to complete, that was the extent of his communication; And then he caused a hit to my credit with an unnecessary check. Afterward I received an email from Mark in which he acted as though I was wasting his time--and I felt slammed by his message--as he mentioned all the reasons I could not be helped. One star is generous for my experience with Mark and Movement mortgage. And update: as you can see from Marks reply--he has no humility and accepts no responsibility. TLDR: - Tried to refi with current lender…read more- They completely dropped the ball - Scott made the process seamless and fast - He ended up saving me almost double what I was going to save with my current lender - CALL SCOTT AT INFINITY MORTGAGE When I decided to look into a refi in January of this year, I started with my current lender, Pennymac. I'd been with them for 6 years, refi'd twice already and figured it'd be the easiest option. They quoted me a 3.99% rate and we got the info we were asked for to them. 2 months later the file was still pending. When I called, I'd be told that someone would get back to me and then no one would. I finally found out that my original officer had taken a leave of absence and someone else had taken over. I was also informed that they wanted us to change the terms of the loan. I won't go more into details because it doesn't matter, but the result is that it was a continual delay. I'll mention this next part only for context, because I know how it comes across. Both my wife and I have credit scores over 750. Our debt to income is strong and our appraisal came back at roughly 50k more than expected. My point is only that this should have been a very easy loan to underwrite. We just couldn't get anyone, even a manager, to take over and actually look at the file. Honestly I don't know if they were just overwhelmed with work or short staffed, but it was a mess. In mid May I reached out to Scott. I've known Scott for over 10 years and trusted him. I should have started with him. He asked for everything I sent over to Pennymac and he'd take a look and give me his opinion on whether he could help. The first thing he asked me is why they were quoting a 3.99% rate when the going rate was 3.00%. I had no idea as I had just trusted Pennymac to give us the best deal that we qualified for. He wrote the deal up for 3.00%. He communicated daily for anything that was needed and what step of the process we were in. We had an approval in approx. 1.5 weeks. We ran into an issue with our solar company which delayed closing but even with that, we had docs ready in about 3.5 weeks FROM THE FIRST TIME I ASKED HIM IF HE COULD HELP. It was amazing. Here's where Scott really shown however. Because of the delay with the solar company, we were going to go past our rate lock time-frame. That meant that we needed to pay a fee to keep the rate. It was going to be about 2k. I didn't really care about it, but Scott felt that if we could stomach waiting another couple of weeks, we should change lenders because he didn't want us paying that much for something we could get without the fee. He resubmitted everything to the new lender (really almost no effort from me) and had a new approval in another week an a half. A couple weeks later we were signing docs with our new mortgage company. I'm a raving fan of Scott at this point. Call him first. You will not be disappointed.
