I found Cali Mortgage by chance, on a Google search. I was impressed with all the positive reviews! I needed an experienced loan officer to help me with a complex loan that could easily fall through if it weren't carefully handled; needless to say, I was very worried! Aaron was very communicative and that made all the difference! He let me know where we were every step of the way, and called me every day to give me updates and ask if I had any questions. In previous dealings with other loan officers I had felt uncertain with the process and left in the dark. When I came to Aaron, he reassured me he would get the job done and FAST! I like Cali Mortgage and do recommend them! They are honest and work hard. Aaron was easy to work with, and worked to get me the loan I wanted. Sarah was great too! They were professional. HOWEVER- my one criticism is that Cali's underwriter "screwed the pooch" and almost me too! They waited until the week before closing to review my documents and came up with multiple additional (bone head) doc requests. Because of incomplete docs, we missed our first closing date and had to postpone to the next week. The seller said they were prepared to cancel if we missed the new closing date. It would have been nice if Cali ensured the underwriter completed doc reviews in a timely manner and avoided the eleventh hour panic attack. I suggest Cali file a complaint with the underwriter, and maybe never use that underwriter again. I also feel Cali and/or the underwriter should have sent us a written apology and explain what happened and how it wouldn't happen again. Dinner and a movie would have been nice! read more

I got my first loan with Aaron for my house which went well because he helped me get a house with only 10 percent down in 2011. I contacted him to get a lower rate a couple years later and he got in me a loan with the banks that I use for checking and saving. He got me a lower rate but I ended up having to pay a lot in points which he never explained or gave any choice to choose. He blamed it on my impound account which is not true that I'm finding out. He totally screwed me over of thousands. He gave me bad advice and ending up costing me my savings to refi. I would never recommend anyone to these people. NOT only that but he also has his team call you MULTIPLE times to leave reviews for his company on google and yelp. I swear I had to tell one person, if another person calls me again for a review, that I would leave a bad one and they stopped calling. Reading the other positive reviews and seeing their profiles makes me think most of them are fake. My experience was horrible. I was lead down a path that was uneducated and unprofessional. I was pre approved and told being self employed moving states wouldn't be an issue which was completely wrong. Cali Mortgage gave me a pre approval only until 2 1/2 weeks before closing they dropped me for the same reason they told me would not be an issue. I could have lost the house we were in contract with and also had no place to live in the meantime since we put our notice into our rental. Aaron put us in a very compromising position and did not even respond when I asked why his company dropped us a few weeks before closing. They charged me for an appraisal which never happened and is illegal to do. No response until this AM when I received an email from Aaron asking for my business back on a future home. As if loosing our first home is OK and to continue with his company? What a joke! Arron is the most unprofessional mortgage broker out there! I called another company in the same town to move forward and they were in shock this happened to me. This should have never happened if Aaron knew what he was doing.
