This is an excellent company to work with! They're very knowledgeable when it comes to handling property in a divorce. Actually, I would recommend them for any unusual or unique mortgage situation. My team included Kevin, Bill and Danielle. They were all very personable, knowledgeable and empathetic. They sold my loan to a good company, too. With my previous loan, Quicken transferred it to their other company, Rocket Mortgage, who then sold it to Sun Trust, which was right in the middle of a merger, changing over to Truist. The transfer to Sun Trust didn't go smoothly, nor did the transition from Sun Trust to Truist. This all happened in a few months, and it was miserable, frustrating and confusing. So I learned for the first time how much a lender matters, and I'm grateful for Iron Point selling my loan to a good company and being away from the mess of the Truist merger. Regarding my need for a refinance - I'm going through a divorce right now. My mother, ex and I were each 1/3rd owners of the property, and Mom and I bought out my ex. He needed the money asap, so he could get established with his new life, and we were all in agreement to make this happen before we settled anything else in the divorce. Several mortgage companies refused to do business with us until we had a divorce decree in hand, rather than accept the Order & Stipulation Agreement that our attorneys worked up and that we all signed. Iron Point Mortgage was there to save the day! They understood this agreement would be filed with the court and signed off by a judge, so it was just as good as having a decree. They understand that divorces don't often follow the same path, and they are happy to review your unique situation (divorce related or not) and advise on what they can do to help. They are comfortable doing so because they are competent, experienced and know the laws of their industry. Therefore, they are able and willing to think outside of the box. Kevin also found a way to lower my closing costs by changing it from a traditional cash out refi to (I think it's called) a rate and term. I did plan to pull out cash to cover some of my divorce attorney's fees, but with the rate and term option, I couldn't take out a penny more than what I would be paying my ex. Therefore, Kevin explained my options and gave me the freedom to make the best decision for me. I chose the rate and term option and decided this, along with a debt consolidation loan at the end of my divorce would be the best option. That way, when the time comes to apply for a debt consolidation loan, I'll know how much I need to apply for. If I would've taken cash out of my mortgage, I would've had to estimate and risk taking out more or less than what was needed. My refi was settled at the beginning of March, and my divorce is estimated to be settled by the end of next month (May). With Iron Point Mortgage helping to get my ex paid out, they eased a lot of tension and stress for my mother, my ex and myself. I believe this has helped towards negotiating the rest of our assets and debts, so we can settle our divorce as peacefully and quickly as possible. I couldn't be happier with my experience! The next time I refi, sell or buy, Iron Point Mortgage will be my mortgage broker. They've earned my loyalty, and I share my positive experience every chance I get.
