Debbie and Michael both have a sweet tooth. They went for two of the exquisite concoction of Jen de la Creme, the pasty chef. Our conversation quickly degenerated into moans!!! We had the Pork osso bucco which was delicious. very flavorful and came with a side of mashed potatoes and little gourmet carrots. it was finished in a light sauce that paired well with the tenderness of the pork. We also had the steelhead which was surrounded by a cream sauce filled with leeks and mushrooms. the seafood was atop two wedges of polenta, a very nice add that allowed you to soak up the sauce. We did not have reservations as it was late on a Thursday night. But, we had to wait close to 30 minutes to be seated. The hostess was nice and seated us with our dog on the patio. the place was still full at 7:30 at night. they have a musical group playing in the background which was also additive to the ambiance. The one negative was our service. Not very personable, we sat for another 20 minutes before anyone came to our table. No water, no explanation for the delay and no apologies for the long wait. Service improved after the place started to die down, but not a great start to the meal especially after waiting so long at the front.

We picked up a whole roaster, some thighs, and a few boneless/skinless chicken breasts...and this quality of the chicken is astounding. Different texture, flavor, and not fatty. The roaster turned out SUPERB- the best we'd ever experienced, the thighs I cooked in the air fryer, and the flavor and texture- very light skin, no fat, was phenomenal. The chicken breast were also of like quality. YES, it's more expensive, but the quality and the HEALTH factor of Draper Valley Farms Chicken is well-worth it. (included pic of our roaster) Then just two days ago, on a quick shopping spree to pick up a few of their HIGH QUALITY items at the meat counter (always SO good!)- and I purchased one of their Burgers (Online Ketchup & Mustard Only) & fresh fries to-go from the deli. Oh my. Huge patty, very lightly packed, lots of cheese, (pic posted as well) and the fries were great. Just an overall delicious hamburger.

A new Mexican "tienda" here in town will be a welcome addition to the other Mexican shops. What I really liked was their "pan dulce" display case stocked with all the traditional sweet bread and baked goods from south of the border. As a kid, I spent a lot of time in Baja with the fam, and these colorful treats in front of me today really bring back fond memories. I also heard from the management staff that they plan on opening a "carniceria" (meat counter) inside the store with regional cuts and choices of meat. The store isn't huge, but it has a lot of interesting items. It's very clean and organized which made my shopping easy. It has an authentic Mexican vibe and I'll be back for more another day.
