Mrs. Graciano scheduled three different appointments to view my property and provide an estimate for clearing brush in my backyard to meet fire code requirements. The first two were canceled at the last minute. They did keep the third appointment, but the estimate came in at more than three times what I expected. While they did lower it by $200, it was still about double what my realtor had advised me to anticipate. We eventually scheduled a date for the work, but around 11:30 that morning I received a call saying they couldn't make it due to a case of food poisoning. I understand that things happen and that this is a very busy time of year for landscapers, but it's frustrating to repeatedly schedule time with a business only to have them cancel at the last minute.

I've been in this shop several times in as many years, helping my pal with his riding mower which he gets serviced here, from time to time. My buddy also has the shop service his chain saws, of which he has several and uses A LOT throughout the year. I am very impressed by a couple of things here. Though it would seem that there is not much competition for this shop in Tehachapi, the owner (Jack) and the employees treats everyone who walks through the door like family; Extremely friendly and helpful. Jack, who obviously loves people, must pass on his people skills to the folks that work here, because they are all above and beyond what one finds in "garden" or "tool" stores or in those departments in the big box stores. On Tuesday, we waited for Jack while he was answering question after question from a needy customer. He then went outside to check out the rider/mower we brought to the shop. Of the two issues that my pal thought needed repairing, Jack showed us one issue was a minor fixit and the estimated cost of what my buddy thought needed to be done was about half of what he anticipated it was going to be. I gave Carson's a call and asked if they could come out and lay winter rye for me in the yard and aerate the yard. Communication was smooth, they called me right back and we setup a day and time. They were a bit late but they let me know that they were running behind so I appreciate the notice. When they showed up they did a great job in the yard they even leveled out the yard as well as they could before aerating and laying the new seed, they gave me clear instructions on how to handle the yard to get the best results from the rye. Very helpful and not hard to communicate with, highly recommend and I'll be using them again in the future for my landscaping needs.
