My son said they showed up like Superman lol. I had a great experience at this car body shop and junk yard. The employees were very professional and knowledgeable and worked closely with my insurance companies' adjusters and took the time to get the job done and fixed my car and restored it to its normal state. He offered to give me store credit for the return of the stereo and I really appreciated that. I have done business with Alpjne in the past with great results. They do excellent service and long lasting repairs. It was just this one incident that didn't go well in my eyes. 6-stars. Really. I live three hours away, and Steve at Alpine has earned my business for life. I took my 2012 X5 to my local dealership because it was making a soft "putting" sound. They called within an hour and told me I needed a complete engine replacement that would cost $24,000. I was shocked. They "generously" offered me $1,500 to trade in my now "worthless" car. I started making calls, literally all over the country, to find someone who could replace the engine for, at the very least, less than the $13,000 blue-book value of the car. I was unsuccessful. Next, I started calling dismantlers, hoping to get more value than just accepting a $1,500 trade in. That's how I found Alpine Auto House. Turns out, they do repairs too. I didn't know when I first called. Then we started to talk, and they were ready to help. I was perfectly happy with them dropping in a used/rebuilt engine for less than $5,000, that included a one-year warranty. I put my car on a trailer and shipped it to LA. Once it arrived, Steve called and asked if I wanted them to diagnose it. I balked, not wanting to spend unnecessarily. He said if the engine still needed replacement, he would not charge me, so I agreed. Thank goodness for Steve. He called two hours later. You guessed it- I did not need a new engine. Turns out a part of the turbocharging system had become disconnected. They literally put it back on and the car was fine. $0. He gave me a list of general maintenance items that he recommended, and I was so appreciative that I did everything I could afford to do. I wanted to give them as much business as possible, since the fix for the original problem cost me nothing, except the shipping on the car. Honesty. Integrity. There are not enough words to express how genuinely different this shop is. I would have written a great review if they'd just replaced the engine like was originally planned. But they did the honest thing and did exactly and only what the car actually needed. Like I said, I'm a customer for life. You will be too!! Give them a try. read more

I've gotten plenty of repairs and maintenance done here for my 2007 BMW 328i (e93) Some notable mentions are to follow - My car got broken into and my glove compartment, passenger window and cupholder were broken. I didn't go through insurance to get the repairs, but went here instead. They replaced it with the used parts they've had for much MUCH less than what I had expected. On top of that, I bought a hydraulic hood lift since one of mine was broken and they replaced it very quickly. One ignition coil went out, and got it replaced at a shop near me so it wouldn't stop knocking at idle, but they denied me when I asked if I could buy parts online and they could install. Right after that, I ordered a set of ignition coils and a maintenance service 2 kit which included 6 spark plugs from NGK from FCP for the 90k service and took it here. They did a wonderful job servicing my car and told me that my water pump will be coming up to failure because of the flash memory the water pump sends to the ECU. Low and behold, 3 months later, my water pump fails, but I had already bought one along with a thermostat and bolts ahead of time and brought it here for replacement. My next service is going to be my automatic transmission for the 100k mark. All my BMW needs, I'll go here. Keep your BMW maintained and it'll run longer than expected, even in my N51, which is said to be unreliable. Granted, I did have to replace my valve cover gasket twice, but that was covered under the SULEV warranty. Care for your car, bring it here and they'll take care of it for you. read more

I recently had my headlight go out on my BMW 328i and I brought it in to Alpine to get a new one installed. I already had purchased a new bulb, but none of my friends were able to figure out how to install! Alpine immediately took my car in and diagnosed the wiring problem after 15 minutes and were able to install the new bulb correctly. What is amazing is they didn't charge me for it! It is the second time I've come in for a small correction and they take care of it for free. These guys are the absolute best. I have had two jobs done over the last two years and on both occasions, they did outstanding work and they did it for well below what other shops would charge. They replaced a rear passenger window that failed, and did it for a couple hundred below the nearest estimate, and it's been over a year and the electric window works perfectly. Then I brought my 328i in to have both the water pump replaced, as well as the valve cover gasket, and they once again did flawless work at a rate way below all competing shops. All this shop does is rip you off and doesn't even fix your car. I took my BMW 3 series in for a repair and was told it would be ready quick, guess what it didn't, it took 2 weeks. Every time I would call and ask to speak with Steve to see what's happening they said he will call me back because he's with a customer right now but never would end up calling me. I get my car back and literally 3 days later I get the same problem again. I give them a call and they say bring it back and we'll check on it. I get a call couple days later saying it's a different problem that literally has nothing to do with the first problem and I have to pay again lol. Which I believe is a total lie. Whatever, I get my car and guess what 2 weeks later, today, I have another problem. This place is a rip off, if they at least would fix your car the right way I wouldn't mind but they don't. UPDATED 3/5/2019: The oil filter housing gasket and oil cooler gasket that they fixed are now leaking again (15 months later) and I am having to pay someone $840 to fix it. I was told that they didn't use the correct sealant and that they did not do a good job. This is not to mention that when they worked on my car last, they didn't reset the computer and I ended up stranded in a parking garage when my engine stalled. I knew the reviews were bad going in but I was recommended by someone and I was desperate. Basically my BMW 750Li stereo was having issues, a notoriously difficult car, electronically speaking. After being jerked around by my old mechanic and Glendale BMW, I decided to give Alpine a shot. The head mechanic Mike said the following to me after he 'fixed' my car stereo, and I quote: "I'm sorry that you had a bad experience. God only knows how much money you've wasted. I want your business. I was in prison for 7 months, I got caught in possession of a firearm. I sold a rifle that belonged to my father while I was on a domestic violence probation case from 2008... Just want to be honest with you... I love working on these cars, I think they're excellent vehicles. I think most of the problems that they have is the personnel that are working on em', and people that mislead and misinform customers... There's not a lot of independent shops that have the diagnostic equipment that we have here and the knowledge that I have, over 30 years, and I really want your business. I want you to be 100% happy." After I drove away, I noticed my stereo Aux was no longer working, which was basically my main input of sound. I brought it in, Mike couldn't fix it, claimed my stereo deck was now bad, but he said he would figure something out. I then called Mike and Steve repeatedly, for months. At first Mike seemed interested in helping but over time, it was like I was a nuisance. Then he started distancing himself from Alpine saying that I needed to work with 'them', granted, he gave me his 100% satisfied speech. So after dealing with them for 3+ months, I'm out $900 and my stereo isn't functioning properly. Like most of the other reviews suggest, this shop is super shady. Don't think they won't hesitate to take a non-functioning part from your car then turn around and flip it. During one of the initial visits, Tony took out my stereo deck, 'gave' me another deck (which was bad), then laughed and told me that he'll just resell my 'bad' deck. He had been cool up until that point, but I then realized that I would be lucky if I came out of there on top. I didn't. read more
