Interior is playful with 2D art of tourist places in Japan. The portion size is good for it price. There variety of drinks from multiple flavor lemonade to boba tea. And selection of ramen is good. Ordered black garlic oil ramen w/spicy oil added for take out. This was my first time trying this restaurant and I was excited due to the high ratings. Unfortunately, my bowl of ramen does not mirror the other great reviews I read. The bowl was not worth the $17 I spent! They overload the base of the bowl with noodles and only gave me 1 extremely thin slice of pork belly portion, not the two slices many of the photos depict. I was very disappointed about this. The broth is thin, not very rich in flavor, watery to be honest. Pretty standard toppings..bamboo shoots, corn, kikurage mushroom, scallions, egg, nori sheet etc... The atmosphere is decent for anyone looking to dine-in, nice mural painted in black and white along with simple two-top tables. I have been wanting to try this place due to rave reviews so I got takeout. I ordered spicy tonkotsu, pork gyoza, chicken skewers, chicken nuggets, and gyudon. Pork gyoza was okay. I would love more filling and it may need a little seasoning. The chicken skewers could use some seasoning as well. Surprisingly, the chicken nuggets were pretty good. It reminded of Taiwanese popcorn chickens. My partner and I loved the seasoning. Since we got this takeouts, the container may have steamed the chicken nuggets so they were not as crispy as we would like. The first slurp of the ramen reminded me of the instant ramen. The broth was not as salty as instant ramen's but very thin. I'm unfortunately a food snob. I didn't like the thickness and chewiness of the ramen noodles. My partner had the gyudon. Very cute decor inside this relaxed ramen spot. Everything's black and white with a graphic novel kind of design. The ordering process is very easy. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you. You can order off the pre-designed menu, or build your own. There are rice bowls and ramen both, with some appetizers. We ordered the pork gyoza, black garlic oil ramen, and spicy tonkatsu ramen. The service was a little slow and disorganized, but the ramen was really good. Perfect portion size for the price. It was such a treat to find this place in Cleveland after going to the Cleveland Clinic. We visited Japan from the end of March to beginning of April and it's hard to find very authentic places. This is the most authentic that we've found in Cleveland and Pittsburgh. Wow! Loved it! The person behind the counter was very nice too. My mom and I both had the Shrimp tempura ramen bowl with a few minor modifications. They were absolutely delicious. Super authentic! We had all different kinds of ramen all over Japan and this is definitely on par with what we had there. Such a wonderful surprise! Love the walls being painted to look like a city in Japan! So cute! Got takeout from Alpha Ramen on a cold winter day when we were craving some warm soup and it hit the spot! The store interior itself looks very fast-casual and not necessarily a spot for a refined dining experience, but the food is good. We tried the spicy tonkatsu and black garlic oil soup bases. Alpha ramen is a exciting new Ramen place opened up in Asia town. I came to tryouts place with my friends, I was pleasantly surprised by the many options on the menu. I opted for a black garlic oil ramen, which is one of the most popular items according to the cashier. They also have combo options where you can get selected ramens paired with bubble tea or appetizers for a cheaper price. The inside is really cute, and the decor styled like the drawing/sketch cafés that you see in Asia. As far as the food goes, the takoyaki and corndog were quite good, so the portions were smaller than we expected based off of the photos. I personally do not get the bubble tea, though my friends felt like the flavor was rather bland, and even though they didn't ask for a reduction in sweetness, the Tiger Sugar bubble tea was not very sweet. As far as the ramen goes, I really enjoy the flavor of it and the toppings were delicious. However, all of us felt like the ramen broth could've been much hotter. Even the eggs were cold and felt like they had been just in the fridge. I kid you not when I say I drove past this place and then did a u-turn when I read their name. New ramen place? Sign me up! As of 5/16/23 they've been open for two days! Their interior is cute, the walls are painted and the furniture has that "drawn" design, very cute. I ordered their Matcha Strawberry Milk Tea, Takoyaki and Spicy Garlic Miso Ramen. The takoyaki wasn't bad, a bit more of a crunch on the exterior than I expected but definitely better than mushy. 6 pieces for $5.99. The bubble tea was $5.25 (.50 for boba) and the sweetness level is adjustable. Honestly very lovely. They have strawberry puree/jam (potentially a mix of both??) at the bottom and you mix it all up. The flavors really balance out beautifully. The ramen was $14.99. It's a really solid ramen. The noodles had a nice chew, the toppings were lovely (pork was great) and it had a good spice to it. A pretty solid ramen place! Besides Otanj Noodle and Xingjin Noodle Bar, I don't know of other ramen specific places so this is a good option to have! I got the black sesame garlic oil ramen and my date got the tonkotsu subbed with chicken (yeah, I know, a bit blasphemous). I also tried the rose milk tea with boba and it was delicious. As you can see from my picture, the piece of pork belly was ginormous. It wasn't as flavorful as I was expecting but the broth was, at least. The taste was great but wish there were more noodles. Our server wasn't great at describing the flavors but was very warm after I spoke to her in Chinese. Tonkatsu Ramen- Flavorful umami broth, a variety of vegetables, a couple of rice cakes, and the most delicious soy egg I've tasted. This bowl was comparable to the other ramen you can get around the city, which means it's just as delicious as your favorites. Thai Tea Bubble Tea: The boba is cooked well, the tea doesn't have too strong of a tea flavor and tasted more like sweetened milk, but I drank it all because it was good. Was it one of my favorites? No, but it was still enjoyable. Service: You order at the counter and grab a seat-- the young lady who took my order was kind and brought my food out to me as it was ready. Ambiance: It has a really nice small family-owned shop feel. The art on the walls makes it casual and I think they did a very good job of making the restaurant look unique while also keeping the charm of a ramen shop. Accessibility: Parking was on the street, I think there may also be a place to park on the side streets, but it didn't have its own parking lot. The food here is absolutely delicious, and the portion sizes are on the generous side. We've ordered several types of ramen from here and have yet to be disappointed. My personal favorite is the spicy tonkatsu ramen, which has a deep flavor and tender meat. Although if you really want to turn up the heat, then go for the fiery chicken umami ramen! Along with their flagship meal, the appetizers and sides shouldn't be overlooked. The pork buns are tasty, and they could easily serve as a full meal by themselves. The onigiri are a nice treat, and the takoyaki are large and delicious as well. Their drink menu sports a wide variety of milk teas, so it's always fun to try a new flavor each time (the coconut flavor is my current favorite!). Ramen was a very small portion, salty and very had a bland yet weird taste. Pork belly looked like it had been boiled for days and was tasteless, one small piece. The ramen itself is VERY delicious, and the octopus balls were pretty decent. Ambiance and service are lacking, though. The wall art is cool but some of the tables are kind of rickety, the soup comes in a to-go container with a plastic spoon and wooden chopsticks, and you get your own water in a styrofoam cup. The service wasn't slow, but it wasn't very friendly or welcoming either. I had to ask the cashier to have someone come and wipe the sticky table down from the previous customers. We ordered a mega ramen to share, takoyaki, and oden. The food was pretty good. The oden wasn't particularly special and worth it for the price considering that fish cake is cheap to buy, but its soup was good. Our favorite was the takoyaki, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside; we'd definitely reccomend! The ramen was pretty average. Overall, we were satisfied and left filled. We also got a free strawberry lemonade for posting a review and it was so refreshing -- probably the best strawberry lemonade I've ever had, 10/10! Could have used some sauce as it was a bit dry, and was a little cilantro heavy for my taste. Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen - 5/5 Noodles were pretty thick and had a nice chew to them. The broth was rich in delicious Tonkotsu pork bone flavor and had a slight spicy kick. Pork belly melts in your mouth and had a great savory and sweet, slightly charred flavor. New ramen place in town! We got the tonkatau ramen and the black garlic ramen with an order of gyoza for the kiddo. The fresh noodles were delicious, bamboo shoots really good. The broth was OK (black garlic was a little over seasoned and the tonkatsu was a little under seasoned, but I chalk that up to being a new restaurant and that we went near the end of the night- the noodles themselves were excellent so worth going back!).
