Being very meticulous and particular, I spent 2 months interviewing multiple companies before deciding to go with Alpha One Construction. They were referred to me by a friend who had her roofing done by them. What impressed her the most was the extra-mile they took to make her happy. Surprisingly, one of the biggest challenges during my numerous interviews, was finding a company who actually knew how to install heated flooring underneath travertine tiles. So I was pleased to learn that Alpha One Construction is experienced in this. It was an extensive project that took 2 months to complete. If you've ever watched HGTV, you'll learn that with any construction projects, obstacles are bound to surface. Nothing ever goes 100% as anticipated. Key, however, is how the company goes about to resolve these issues. I can genuinely say, Alpha One Construction went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. I will give one illustration of how Alpha One Construction went above their call of duty. In an effort to reduce my expenses, I opted to paint my existing kitchen cabinets instead of replacing them. Unfortunately, the brackets that were initially installed prior to my moving in were cheap quality. A year after my renovation was complete, a couple of these cheaper brackets broke. Alpha One Construction sent out a couple of their workers, who not only replaced the broken brackets, but proactively changed out all of the cheap quality brackets with the sturdier ones I purchased, in an effort to ensure that this does not happen again. This act alone is why I'm loyal to them. They take pride in their work and that's important. There are "love them and leave them" companies who will ignore you should a problem surface once they collect the final payment. Then there is Alpha One Construction who knows that reputation is everything. This is why I will refer anyone who is considering renovation work on their homes to them. Their sales pitch was very professional and the scope of work they gave me was well thought out, the warranty they offered was very nice, and the price was fair as well. Alpha One Construction was one of our first contractors we ever hired for our house and they ended up doing far more for us than we initially reached out to them for. Initially we only wanted a new roof. When we were trying to get a roof permit, we found out that part of our house was actually unpermitted thanks to the previous owners, thus blocking all future permits. I really appreciate that the company actually pushed for us to resolve the permit issue and get a permit, great to know that they aren't afraid about inspections. Sean and team were able to solve the permit issue and hire the necessary people to push it through. We actually ended up doing a whole new roof, new insulation, and new gutters through AOC. first, the job start day was delayed a day so i had to take an extra day off work. then, i was overpriced on the job request (one room roof panels change). Got other quotes about the job completed after and they agreed. They didn't complete the job due to safety and i understood that but had to argue with contractor on lowering the price due to incomplete. it was not completed according to what the quote included in the contract. He recommended a white three layer roofing for energy efficiency and because we have a semi flat roof. The office people of Alpha One were very responsive from the beginning, setting up an appointment for me with a representative, and then sending a reminder when that rep. would be at my house. The rep showed up and did not have a business card on him when I asked. He looked over the project and explained what he basically planned to do. I explained that we were going to make a decision within 5 days, and that we would need a written proposal in order to make our decision. He assured me that I would receive his estimate in plenty of time. I called a couple of days later and was told that he was still working on the written estimate, but he gave me a verbal price estimate. Apparently he did not understand that we needed the written estimate in advance of our decision. The verbal price was beyond our budget. We did not hire this company. read more
