I started my treatment just recently and I can safely say this place provides exceptional service. Irina M's ability to connect and consult were integral for me. In little to NO time she exhibited efficiency and effectiveness to penetrate the target areas where I currently suffer a sport injury. Aside from that the place is great, very professional, soothing ambiance, soft easy listening music in the background, Irina truly caters to the needs of her clients to offer optimal service!!! Location is convenient since its right off the subway line and on the way back from work...location is key in my books!!!! I just had my second appointment at this location of Sutherland-Chan, and it was fantastic…read more My RMT, James Alberto was the best RMT I've ever had (and I've gotten over 300 massages in the past). What made him so good? 1. He listened. He asked me what he'd like me to work on, I told him, and he did it. Seems fairly standard, but I've had a number of RMTs ask me that question, and proceed to ignore my request. 2. He asked about the pressure quite frequently, which makes sense, because different muscles can handle different pressure. Once he got to a new muscle, if I said the pressure wasn't enough, he'd gradually build it up, and asked me to tell him to stop when he reached the right level. 3. At the end, he asked me for feedback. I had none. This is about as close to a perfect massage as I've ever had. I'd recommend James in a heartbeat. Though to be fair, I did go to this location once before, and was disappointed. The first therapist didn't do any of the things that James did, and never asked about the pressure. The only reason I came back a second time is because I got a gift certificate for a massage at Sutherland Chan, so I figured I'd use it again at this location, just ask for a different therapist than my first one, and I'm glad I did.

We both have coverage through benefit plans and paid a $25 premium for an RMT massage. King Thai Massage did not mention that they would not be covered by SunLife and when my husband put the claim in through later that night it was rejected as King Thai Massage is a delisted provider. I am now out $60 on something I assumed would be 100% covered. I requested some accommodation by just refunding me the $25 RMT premium and the location refused. Needless to say I will never go back and I hope to warn others ahead of time as well.

I don't personally like that and I wish there was the option. I don't want to be doing a facial with my eyes closed and listening to someone getting massaged (Painful grunts) or hearing footsteps coming back and forth. My eyes are closed, I'm wearing a towel, it kinda puts you on edge when there's so many noises and people coming in and out of the treatment room. I'd have appreciated some privacy. Or atleast if it's a couples booking, then make sure staff know not to poke their head in to ask questions/ talk to your staff. It's honestly so distracting to a relaxing experience. Massage was good. My partner enjoyed it but I think he would not choose to come back to this location. I had a lovely facial but my goodness she was rough with the extractions. I like a light extraction, but she was quite rough. Still, it was effective and I liked her. She was really nice and gave me good advice for my skin - especially considering that I don't do facials regularly. I love that they also offer SPF treatment at the end so your fresh skin is protected on your way out the door. Booking here was not the easiest thing. It was a little difficult to understand all the pages on their website, but now that I've gone through the process - I can understand their packages better. I will say, I did not like speaking with the receptionist. She's quite forceful and talks over you a lot. I wanted the answer to one simple question and she went on for almost 7 minutes. I was quite frustrated and almost didn't book because I didn't enjoy the interaction with her. Given that I don't do massages/ facials regularly, I'll opt to try a new place each time unless I'm totally wow-ed by a location. They do have good reviews, so as always, try it for yourself!

I think the best way to describe how Manuela treats you is she listens with her hands - she never just goes through the motions or just sticks to a checklist. While she asks you at the start where the problematic areas are, she is also always hyper-aware as she goes through the treatment on areas you never thought needed a bit more work. Would highly highly recommend Manuela and Bayview RMT.
